I'm done! Alone for Christmas so it's not too festive
Spot the cat trying to eat the plastic...

Love the seeing the fridges but itโ€™s not Christmas till I a see a cat and fridge photo on Mumsnet!

Buttercream22 · 22/12/2024 13:20

Absolutely love this thread! Most of mine is done, just popping out today to get little treaty bits form M&S and more milk and bread. Will post a photo later.

Oh and DH more crisps!

fivebyfivebuffy · 22/12/2024 13:24

@Loub1987 he says thank you, he LOVES trying to get in the fridge, his human is mean and won't let him eat plastic

Ours is a very sad looking Christmas fridge this year. Itโ€™s only DH and I and weโ€™re going out for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch.

No fridge picture from me. Love to see everybody elses though.
The oddest thing yesterday.
A veg box delivery for dd. No way to work out who sent it.
She isn't vegetarian, nor has any particular love of veggies in general.
In previous years her dad has sent hampers, meat, cheese, chocolate sort of thing.
But veg? We are baffled. She is 24.
So I have twice the amount of veg I usually have.

lissie123 · 22/12/2024 14:44

Can you tell- we are away for Christmas ๐ŸŽ„

This is why DH is not allowed to play fridge Jenga; pint of double cream all over the fridge and the floor (and him). Big food delivery hasnโ€™t even arrived yetโ€ฆ.

I love the fridge organisers! Where are they from please?

ChaosHol1 · 22/12/2024 16:25

Here's mine, alcohols all in the shed. Got roast beef, steak pie, pigs in blankets, links, chipolatas in the freezer from Butchers that won't fit in the fridge.

Ok Iโ€™m kinda sad Iโ€™m not going to post my fridge because itโ€™s really just 2 shelves of it with xmas food atm
turkey and lamb is coming out the freezer tomorrow morning but even then weโ€™re having canapรฉs with friends at midday and then Christmas dinner just the 3 of us (and a baby!)

next year Iโ€™m gonna really turn up ๐Ÿคฃ

This is mine, literally back from the supermarket. Have bought lots of party food for the freezer. We are going for turkey and ham and a little buffet (just dh and i & two kids) after Christmas Eve mass so I bought macarons etc too. happy Christmas all ๐ŸŽ„

Your top shelf looks out to kill you, @Mashroom! <duck!>

AdventFridgeOfShame · 22/12/2024 21:47

Nearly there, very few shop ought goodies due to allergies.
I'm just hoping that none of the jars of random shite have been on the top shelf since last year.

Edited to say either my camera lens needs cleaning or my fridge emits clouds.

Veg and drinks in the utility room. Just an extra turkey crown to pick up as the one tesco delivered is to small.

Everyone seems to be storing spray cream in the fridge, is that necessary? Opening the debate now ๐Ÿ˜‚

FusionChefGeoff · 22/12/2024 21:59

Before I post a fridge I need to make you all horrendously jealous: my neighbour (older couple on their own) go away for Christmas and she gifts me two massive empty drawers in her freezer every year!! Currently stored there are red cabbage, stuffing, swede, croquettes, smoked salmon pate, blinis, Boxing Day pancakes and my syrup for spiced orange fizz!!!

We don't have spray cream although that probably doesnt help your debate

SnowyIcySnow · 22/12/2024 22:05

Tesco at 9.30 this morning was quite pleasant. It was getting busy as I left at 10.15 tho.
@Favouritefruits I got told off for too much butter last year. Hopefully it meets your criteria?
One of those egg boxes just has 2 eggs left, and I have 2 teens that snack on fried egg sandwiches. That is a weeks worth of eggs for us.

AdventFridgeOfShame · 22/12/2024 22:08

@SnowyIcySnow , you keep eggs in the fridge?!? Swoon
As a true MNer, your house should be cold enough to keep them on the counter / in the pantry.

Then again maybe I keep them on the counter because otherwise we would run out and I wouldn't notice. Who knows, horses for courses.

SnowyIcySnow · 22/12/2024 22:12

@AdventFridgeOfShame yes. I spent too long living in a country where eggs were washed, and ambient temperatures were high. Eggs in fridge is a habit formed then (however I've overcome the need to keep flour in the freezer).

Depends which one, if the supermarket is keeping it in their chillers then I'd refrigerate.

I'd vote yes. Tried keeping mine out of fridge in the past and within a few days there was grey fluffy mould peeking out of the spout!
