Thread 14 - the one with BLACK FRIDAY!

1000 replies

Reastie · 26/11/2024 07:55

I think I always (or nearly always!) call the one with Black Friday this name. I'm assuming this thread will see us through the weekend and I'm not premature!!! Make sure you keep your Black Friday bargains genuine bargains - not everything that looks reduced actually is as good a deal as it looks.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Navaeh have everything reduced to £10. Some lovely bits and all tarnish free.

Plus they are still running 3 for 2 so you can get necklace / ring / earrings for £20. They come nicely packaged too.

Can anyone recommend a good hot chocolate kit that can be posted directly to the recipient, please? Ideally one that contains the hot chocolate as well as the marshmallows, sprinkles and all that jazz, please😀

I've just bought some pendragon hot chocolate that I've seen recommended on here before and it's lovely. I don't think they do a gift box or hamper but you could do an order with them and have it posted directly. They do various flavours of hot chocolate flakes as well as hot chocolate bombs and stirrers. They also have different flavour marshmallows, flavour drops and display tins.

Pooch and mutt have some great bargains again. Get the free gifts too if you’re quick

Thanks just ordered again.
If you sign up for an account with them and like their Facebook/insta pages that gives you 160 points which you can then redeem of the order.

So i managed to get turkey wet food dinner for our pug for Xmas day then two free gifts for £2.88 posted 👏 😊

villamariavintrapp · 29/11/2024 10:30

Nio have 30% off various cocktail boxes here including their advent calendar etc. Not exactly bargainous, but the Christmas ones look nice and they get good reviews.

Carrie76 · 29/11/2024 10:34

Would anyone have a unidays code for Monterrain please?

hugsandpugs · 29/11/2024 10:35

vodafone rewards are giving a free pair of bamboo socks for the sock shop just pay postage.

I was just gonna order the socks but then decided to have a look at what else they do. I found a pack of two Pringle bralettes for £9.09 in the sale so added two packs of those to basket plus a pack of three thongs in a sale for £6.99. Then they had lounge pants (womens and men’s) at £13.99 each but there’s a code for 2 for £20. Added a pair each for me and teenage DS.

Then I found a code for 10% off and all the codes stack. Free delivery and a free gift when you spend £40 so I added a pair of lazy panda boxers for DS.

All in all got two lounge pants, 4 bralettes, 3 thongs, 1 boxers and 1 socks for £40.65 delivered.

A bit niche but if you have Lego insiders make sure you check the offers section. I was able to use 200 of my points to claim a £5 voucher (which was a better deal than usual point redemptions). I could buy 3 of these so a £15 discount. The set I wanted was the Lego Friends Sports Centre https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/sports-center-41744 which was reduced to 50.99 from £84.99. I got it for £34.99 with the free postage still applied. V pleased!

Thank you for this, managed to get the Lego BTS set for £38.99 using the insider points vouchers, very happy with that!

Firsttimeposter121 · 29/11/2024 10:39

Has anyone got a discount code for adidas? Waited for months to see if the football boots I need go in the sale and of course they haven’t!

MammaGnomes · 29/11/2024 10:40

Someone please help me make a decision here.

Before the BF sales started Pandora had a bracelet and 2 charms for £99 offer. I held off thinking BF would be a better offer. It's not. It's £5 more. It's only £5 I know but do I wait and see if the £99 offer comes back after BF or just order now and cut my losses for £5.

FriendlyLaundryMonster · 29/11/2024 10:41

50% off at Nordic socks. We love their socks!

My two (dogs) loved the cheese freebies I got. So although I took advantage of the freebies and got cheap products, they’ve definitely gained a customer from me.
I've placed an additional two orders already.

White Fox now have 40% off everything with FLASH40 which is just typical as I ordered last night with the 30% off!

Could anyone who uses gym equipment at home recommend something simple but effective for an older person with coordination issues. Intention is to keep strength and mobility. They use a rower and a ski erg at the gym, which they like, lift weights and have dumbbells at home. Looking for a piece of equipment but not treadmill or stair climber as hard to get on/off. Ideas and bargains really appreciated.

Do they have a set of resistance bands?

i am desperately looking for a Jellycat tumblie duck but they seem to be out of stock everywhere but Ebay where they are ridiculously expensive - dont suppose anyone has seen one in stock anywhere

Have you contacted Bill and Bert’s in Colchester? They do lots of Jellycats.

FriendlyLaundryMonster · 29/11/2024 10:50

I have 3 young men in their early 20s to buy for and no ideas! They're into brands and sports. I don't know why I'm drawing a blank!

Serenitesanta · 29/11/2024 10:52

Ladies
Where do I buy a PlayStation 5?
No idea it was number one on the list until today 🤷‍♀️
Am thinking today is a good day to buy and I have a student discount if that would help (and get it to work)

tonsilly · 29/11/2024 10:53

@Serenitesanta I just heard them saying on this Morning that Curry's have a good offer on

They could do a resistance band work out that would work similar muscles to a ski erg. If they want cardio then either a seated/under desk style bike or a foldable rower?
