@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@InbetweenDreams we bought Belle dresses from Amazon when we took our girls to watch Beauty and the Beast at the theatre a few years ago. I’ve just checked the buy again section and the exact ones we bought are unavailable. But they look very similar to this Belle dress and we were very happy with the quality, they washed well and lots of people asked where we bought them. They actually still wear them as we sized up. They came with the gloves but no other accessories.

Omg I want a girl so much just to buy this 😍

Hotel Chocolat Chocolate Latte Sachets 10 Pack- £7.47

And Hot Chocolate Purchases 5.10% on TCB

Does anyone know when Hotel Chocola is likely to reduce the grand wreath box like they did last year? School PTA want to buy it for the raffle this year.

Any suggestions where I could get a Shaun the sheep keyring from? I want to put one in my 4yo DS advent calendar. He absolutely loves Shaun. Can't find one one eBay or vinted where the postage isn't more than the keyring itself except Ali express which has terrible reviews. I had a look around town today but noone seems to stock Shaun stuff ATM. Thanks so much 🙂

Qwerty21 · 04/11/2024 18:40

EvilHerbivore · 04/11/2024 18:46

Has anyone opened their PLouise boxes? Mine have come but I ordered 3 and two different sized boxes came. It says if you open you can't return...so I can't check which flavour is which...confusing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2024 18:57

Ah sorry saw you had lots of good costume suggestions. Must read to the end before posting

Can anyone help me with a charity gift tree present. I have to buy for a teenage girl who wants ‘art supplies’

i have a boy and am not arty so any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I’m going to pop in a couple of adult colouring books, hand creams, face masks etc but I would like to get something she would like.

thanks!

Oh Deer have sent me a voucher code to get an Artful box for £10 (usually £49.95). It looks like it might be account specific but you’d be welcome to try it. I think you’ll have to pay for postage and it’s only on 1 of 2 boxes, the colouring pencils one or the printmaking one. Let me know if you want it and I’ll pm you the code.

InbetweenDreams · 04/11/2024 19:16

@lifelongfrugaleer I do still appreciate the suggestion because even though you’d think they’d be everywhere I have actually struggled to find one - loads of places don’t have anything yellow at all. I think she wants one like a big round skirt kind of thing. I might end up getting one from Amazon like someone else suggested but because they said theirs was like that one and not the actual same one I don’t know whether the quality will be the same. If I order something soon I suppose I’ll have time to return if I don’t think it’s up to it!

Audubon · 04/11/2024 19:54

@WeAreTheWeirdosSanta I bought 3 identical P Louise kits and 2 pink boxes came, in one was 1 kit and 2 in the others, if you're talking about the pink boxes I think your kits will be in those boxes in their individual boxes, hope that makes sense!

Does anyone know where I can get Vans Classic Old Skool in adult size 8 at a good price? I can't see them anywhere for less than £65.
Thank you!

I always buy Vans on Black Friday. Usually very good deals.

If you are anyway near the Midlands RAF museum they had some half price (£4) Shaun the Sheep pilot keyrings. I was so tempted to get one for myself. Checked online and there aren't any so it would have to be in person.

YeahWellWhyNot · 04/11/2024 20:35

Thanks @LadyPene but sadly not I'm in the south east. A good tip on eBay from @Justhereforthechristmasthreads so may end up with that! His brother is a scout and I bought him a Shaun the sheep keyring wearing a necker months ago in the scout shop sale for 90p my younger son will never forgive me if his elder brother has Shaun and he doesn't! But my god I'm not getting one for 90p!! 😊

Thanks so much everyone I really appreciate all the help 😌

I live in Bristol, which has a few Wallace and Gromit/Aardman shops/museums. Headed to town tomorrow and happy to have a look for you if that would be helpful? Do you have a budget?
