@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Webbb no worries! Aww that’s even better then, gutted I missed the extra 10% off though 😂😅

NauseousNancy · 04/11/2024 09:32

Does anyone have any experience with special effects makeup? My 11 year old is playing about with makeup to give bruises etc so want to get her something but don’t know what is best!

Ilovepugs2017 · 04/11/2024 09:33

@Webbb Just found 5 rolls of the printer paper for £2 on shein 😅

Qwerty21 · 04/11/2024 09:44

Can anyone recommend a good dash cam please? My oh keeps going on about wanting one but I've no idea where to start. Thank you

We found a recommended local firm who came out and discussed the various options with us. They then fitted the one we chose there and then. May be worth asking around if there is a similar service near you?

Friend of ours fitted his own and said never again!

Have I missed the kids camera deal, please? The Amazon link doesn’t seem to have the voucher so it’s £33.99 for me🤷‍♀️

I've just checked and the voucher option is gone :(

The O2 Priority deal with the personalised decoration is back. I got one last year and the quality is lovely.

£1.50 in the O2 priority app

If anyone is a fan of Jeremy Clarkson's Hawkstone lager and cider (both rather good I have been told) Laithwaites have a good offer. 30OFF gives new customers 30% off and free delivery. I made a selection of Hawkstone ciders and lagers to make up a box of 12 which comes to £39.39 including delivery. With the code it makes it £21.98 with free delivery.

Yeknom · 04/11/2024 10:22

@Qwerty21 I've just seen a dashcam on the Aldi special buys for £11.99 if that's any good?!

Twinsandsome · 04/11/2024 10:22

Does anyone know if phase 8 had good reductions round Black Friday? I seen a dress I think would be lovely on one of my sisters for a christening/Christmas nights out over next wee while but it’s £129. I can get 15% off on my blue light card but ideally I would like 25% off I know I’m not asking for much 🫣

Twinsandsome · 04/11/2024 10:30

Also if anyone had any Argos codes going spare I’d be really grateful I have £140 in my basket and anything would help x

Thanks for the heads up. I got them last year and they're beautiful. Ordered one for my nephew and going to double up as a lovely tag 😍

I'm so glad, aren't they lovely!

Worth saying that there are 2000 a day so if you miss out today try again tomorrow

mumonthehill · 04/11/2024 10:38

Thanks for the Laithwaite code, have ordered some beer.

Using it as a tag is a great idea. Especially on a 'big gift'

I got one for DD last year which the elves brought her sometime in December. Just ordered one for the cat. The elves will bring it for him

33% off selected Lego at Asda

Some great prices there! I'm regretting using my new customer Very Pay discount on Lego now...

White Stuff have a guinea pig decoration, for the person looking 🎄

Lidlisthebusiness · 04/11/2024 10:52

Thank you to whoever it was that posted about Isle of Skye. My mum had a stroke in July, and just this week has moved in to a care home. I'm making her room as homely as I can for her, and so I've got 2 of the reed diffusers for her to make her room smell lovely and less 'care home' like. I went for the winter warmer and vanilla scents.

£14.40 instead of £24 each, and I used a referral code so got an extra £5 off, plus free delivery. So, £23.80 instead of £48. Lovely!

Also, I absolutely bought the Elemis (and QMagic worked for me). I might gift that to her as well as an treat for her skin.

I just checked and it's showing for me but only on the pink camera, not the other colours.

psuedocream3 · 04/11/2024 10:59

Did someone mention 20'% off white company? I need a baby gift, I've looked back but couldn't see anything?

It is still there as I have just looked. I thought it was until the 10th of November anyway? I hope so anyway!

Does anyone have a discount code for American golf? Grandad wants his golf balls again and they aren’t cheap!

Thank you! She’s such a cutie & loves a photo 😂😍

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0D4YZ7TVG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

hopefully that link should take you straight to it 🤞

It has 20% off currently & then a 40% voucher so brings it down to £17.33 and comes in 4 colours

I think my granddaughter would love an instant print camera for Christmas but she is nearly 8 do you think this one would be too childish for her?
