@NobodyGivesADamn thanks for the title

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I think my granddaughter would love an instant print camera for Christmas but she is nearly 8 do you think this one would be too childish for her?

My son is 7 and still uses his all the time, grandparents got him it for his 6th birthday.

Can always move on to the more sophisticated instax/Polaroid type when a little older but as a starter I think these thermal ones are a great cheaper option. The quality is fairly basic but the main benefit is the paper rolls are cheap to buy so I don't really mind when he takes 384845 photos of his lego builds or the cat sleeping. Would be a different story if I was having to fork out for instax film!

Did someone mention 20'% off white company? I need a baby gift, I've looked back but couldn't see anything?

Try TLNBNMKJS ends today though.

The email I had said 20% off before Monday, then later in the email it says until Monday so I don't know what to make of it.

I get emails regularly, but I didn't get the one that said 20% off now online yesterday. I only have this I'm afraid.

Someone did post a 20% off online code yesterday, but you'd have to scroll back and see if that code works. I'll see I'd I can find it.

These are the same as the ones in One Beyond and (I think) Hobbycraft. That are really good quality for the price. Not quite jellycat standard but honestly not too far off.

I got a hot chocolate and a Xmas pudding, and am planning to make trip to hobby craft for a pretzel.

My local aldi had pretzels and croissants last week. Worth checking.

Does anyone have any experience with special effects makeup? My 11 year old is playing about with makeup to give bruises etc so want to get her something but don’t know what is best!

My DD enjoys that sort of thing and I’ve bought her a lot from Revolution, they are quite reasonably priced and often have sales on. If you search ‘SFX’ or Halloween on their site it’s a good place to start. They have face paint/ palettes, plus things like fake blood, liquid latex and scar wax, and colour correcting / bruise kits. I also got her some little tools from Amazon and then a few sponges and brushes and she was away.

psuedocream3 · 04/11/2024 12:07

Thank you so much @Talisin and @RainbowZebraWarrior, I really appreciate your help, I will place my order today. Thank you again 😊

Has anyone come across any decent offers on the Leapfrog magic adventures globe? Cheapest I’ve found is John Lewis at £59.99 but it’s out of stock online. £69.99 elsewhere. Both more than I’d like to spend ideally!!

My mum got this for my son on Blavk Friday last year and it was reduced then so might be worth waiting

kkr168 · 04/11/2024 12:27

The 50% off is still showing on all camera colour options for me.

After @Ilovepugs2017 suggestion for extra camera rolls from shein I thought I'd check temu (as that's what app I have installed) & found 5 rolls of white & 5 coloured rolls for £1.38

Has anyone seen the Home Alone Lego house better than what Disney Store has at the moment? They have it at £233, TCB has 10% cashback, or I could use the Rakuten cashback offer. Any other suggestions? I have 5 children, 4 of which would like large Lego sets so I'm trying to get the best offers I can!

MaybeMrs · 04/11/2024 12:29

This Lego is scanning at £4 in sainsburys.

Does anyone know where I can get Vans Classic Old Skool in adult size 8 at a good price? I can't see them anywhere for less than £65.
Thank you!

Does anyone know if phase 8 had good reductions round Black Friday? I seen a dress I think would be lovely on one of my sisters for a christening/Christmas nights out over next wee while but it’s £129. I can get 15% off on my blue light card but ideally I would like 25% off I know I’m not asking for much 🫣

I have a unique code for 20% if you PM me
