Thread 6 - the one with Otis and the Christmas miracle

@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@TryingToHelpBut I order every now and again and delivery times have always been less than a week. Including the order I put it in on Thursday and received yesterday. It maybe depends on what you've ordered, mine's only ever been Christmas stuff, not big brands etc, if it matters.

Isonthecase · 23/10/2024 20:46

Hobbycraft had 20% off £40 on the site banner. I also messaged when the code wasn't working and they gave me a replacement one so worth a try.

VeruccaSalty · 23/10/2024 21:05

Thanks for all the tip tips for look fantastic! You guys know your bargains.

Hedjwitch · 23/10/2024 21:12

Use CRAFT20 for 20% off nkuku household gifts. Lanterns and candle holders are gorgeous.

WimbyAce · 23/10/2024 21:16

I was looking at advent calendars earlier and I noticed the Paw Patrol one had reduced to £15 at Argos.

Spinningaround18 · 23/10/2024 21:25

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but Asda Christmas slots are available!

ChristmasPuddingAllRound · 23/10/2024 21:30

If you have a blue light card you can save 10% on Waterstones orders. They do various special editions and signed copies across all the ranges, including childrens, so can make nice gifts for people

shash1982 · 23/10/2024 21:31

@dancemom milkshake products sometimes drop in price or are on special offer on amazon.
Maybe wait until black friday.

Evening all, rather than physical gifts I was wondering about a subscription. Does anyone have any good recommendations for magazine/comic subscription for my godchildren? A boy of six and a girl of ten? Thanks in advance.

halloweenscat · 23/10/2024 21:41

Anyone need an argos voucher?
£8 off £80 ends tonight.

I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle please! This is a big ask I know, but I'm really.hoping for some help please!
Son is wanting a Sonic Werehog 6 inch figure after seeing one on YouTube. Ebay only have ones with missing parts and I've found one on Etsy but it's very pricey! Ali express and onbuy I don't trust.
I don't suppose anyone has one tucked away please that they would be willing to sell please?! I know it's a big ask!

Thank you!

Not strictly Christmas but could be handy for Halloween.

Poundfun have an extra 10% off with code XMAS10
Might be good for stocking fillers, party bags if anyone doing a children's party in December, or for little inexpensive gifts for large groups of children.

My favorite for the younger one would be Anorak magazine, it's truly lovely and inspiring.

You will struggle to get one of these. They're one of the most highly sought after Sonic collectibles. I so hope you find one.

The Phoenix is absolutely fantastic.

My kids (now older teens) got it when they were that ange and it was definitely instrumental in helping to shape their interests. They actively looked out for it coming through the door.

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say som...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is a Jazware figure and they go for silly money - even broken figures go for way more than you would expect.

The Phoenix would be good for both depending on reading age (it’s v much a comic)
