Thread 6 - the one with Otis and the Christmas miracle

@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Thanks to everyone for suggestions on the Tiny Me labels. Especially PP who said you can use them for future years. Honestly been a morning of it my brain clearly not thinking straight. Thanks again!

DirtyDensDog · 23/10/2024 17:44

Thanks for looking for me @TheRedheadMummy

IlovePond · 23/10/2024 17:53

Hi, I went to York McArthur Glen today. They had 30% off shop stock in Claire’s and a sale on in Louisa - with prices starting at £2.

The M&S outlet had reduced price Xmas candles, paper, bedding and room sprays.

imnottoofussed · 23/10/2024 18:15

@VeruccaSalty try code 40PLUS it may give a discount

jocktamsonsbairn · 23/10/2024 18:26

Just received the personalised bottles of Heinz ketchup that I saw on here. The label printing is shocking!! Names aren't centred and it looks like a child has printed them out. Not worth the money sadly. Have contacted them for a return/refund but thought I'd give others the heads up! The preview showed the names in the correct places.

For those of us who get Christmas delivery’s from the supermarket do you tip your driver? I get delivery’s all year round and it’s never entered my mind to tip them . But got talking to a friend who said she always tips them when it’s her big Christmas shop. Now I feel awful .

I’ve never thought to do this. We tip our postie and the bin men because we always have the same ones.

works well with our postie as he goes out of his way to leave our parcels hidden from view etc

I got the email too. It's a really good deal. I don't think you'll get much better then that, in terms of discount. Just ordered my second pair 😁

WhyDoesItAlways · 23/10/2024 19:50

Very quick delivery from cuisinart. My corkscrew turned up this morning before I even got the dispatch email.

Very happy for the price. Thank you to original poster for that one!

Are there any other £5 off Hobbycraft codes please? HC515 is now invalid and I don't need to buy £40 worth, TIA!

I was trying to make final decisions and ended up missing that voucher too - best I could find was 10% off with CR4F7Z10

TryingToHelpBut · 23/10/2024 19:54

Anyone order from Brand Alley before, my delivery is taking ages and wondered if it was normal?

Yes, they take weeks.

Keekabooyou · 23/10/2024 20:14

@VeruccaSalty look fantastic have 22% off just now with code flash22

fishfingersandchipsagain · 23/10/2024 20:16

Thanks for all the T-shirt suggestions 🙂

Yes, it’s quirky printed T-shirts I am looking for. Teepublic look good, but don’t seem to do long sleeved unfortunately. I might be stuck with Redbubble.

MammaRoly · 23/10/2024 20:25

Teepublic do do long Sleeved (? Do do 🤣) but need to select from drop down menu on left

watchuswreckthemic · 23/10/2024 20:26

Sorry if previously shared but freeman face masks that retail about £5-6 are on the shelves at my local Home Bargains for 39p!

I ordered one of these for my little one and it arrived the other day and is great so hopefully just a dodgy batch and they will replace for you asap!!

jocktamsonsbairn · 23/10/2024 20:33

@MamaK19 hope so! I was really disappointed!

Joiedepotato · 23/10/2024 20:33

Does anyone know where you can buy individual Fisher-Price little people? They were mentioned a while back in I think Home Bargains for £1 but I don't have a store anywhere near me. 3 B&Ms though 🙄
I would really like one for my little girl's stocking but don't really want to pay £7 for one off Vinted.
