@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I can’t see ANY of those @InDreamland

Were they just in the normal sale section, or somewhere else?

They were in the normal kids section and I just sorted by price low to high.

I never tip the supermarket delivery person. Not thought about it really. I get someone different nearly every time so that plays a factor. I do however tip the bin men. They really do over look a slightly open bin if you are nice to them. Xmas Grin

How much do you tip the bin men? There are loads- maybe six?- in our local team. Do you do it as a single tip or individuals?

Freshair87 · 23/10/2024 10:46

IggyAce · 23/10/2024 10:53

Getting ready for New York means that I’ve missed most of this thread. Just wanted to give you the heads up to check your Asda rewards app coupons on Friday, there will be a coupon drop.

Kinetic sand on sale on Amazon. 1 pack for £1.56 or 2 packs for £3.12. I just bought a few, perfect stocking fillers but also great birthday gifts too!

Thanks for this, just ordered a couple as stocking fillers!

Qwerty21 · 23/10/2024 11:08

Don't suppose anyone else has a Vodafone code going spare they can pm me? Been trying to get one for days. Thanks

hby9628 · 23/10/2024 11:19

@TheRedheadMummy thanks for the kinetic sand. My kids are 10&13 and still love this stuff. Great stocking filler

Mads96 · 22/10/2024 20:57

Can anyone recommend a safe potions kit for kids? I'm sceptical of buying one from Amazon as want it to be all safe ingredients

Also, I have a few free photo calendar codes for photobox I won from the McDonald's monopoly if anyone would like them, have to pay delivery still and can't be used together to order more than one in one transaction.

I also have a discount code for virgin experience days if useful to anyone!

Have a look at the potion lab. There a bit more pricey but there presented beautifully. One of my dds favourite presents

Streetcornerchoir · 23/10/2024 11:22

@Mads96 I guess all your calendar codes have been snapped up but would love one if they haven’t ☺️

Thanks. Looks like they were all snapped up already.

WideFootWelly · 23/10/2024 11:49

Real life shopping at Sainsbury's. Can't say I was overly impressed, but that's probably because we have far too many toys here already so don't want 'big things.

I was disappointed in lego, hot wheels etc - none of that was 50% off, although there were some smaller discounts.

I took a couple of photos of some of the better deals, and a really cute Bluey set.

Would you mind linking this please. I can't find it on Amazon at that price. Thank you so much.
