Thread 6 - the one with Otis and the Christmas miracle

@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Jigsaw puzzle advent calendar reduced to £13.59 on Amazon with a voucher for 10% more off. Love the idea of this - you build the puzzle during the run up to Christmas...

Game suggestions please for family of 5: children are 20,17 and 14. Not too long or taxing but fun. Bit stumped as they have quite a lot of my usual go to ideas.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 22/10/2024 12:00

@Delahot Exploding Kittens or Taco Cat Cheese Goat Pizza. Both family card games and just short bursts of fun. My older teens love both as does everyone we've had round and introduced them to.

What a lovely idea! I see there are a few different ones. I went for this one at £9.99 because I prefer the illustration style of picture, but there are quite a few to chose from.

Outsmarted game as been mentioned on here lots. I’m currently waiting on mine to be delivered today so can’t actually comment on the game yet but I’m looking forward to play it with the family.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 22/10/2024 12:09

Sorry that was @Delahot

Mini projector with 50% off on Amazon plus a further £20 off voucher, taking it to £55. Good for a difficult to buy for teen? The reviews seem generally very positive...

Thanks for this. I think this is a great idea for my niece. How do I get the £20 voucher? Can’t seem to find where I’m looking

PurpleSkittler · 22/10/2024 12:32

@User170451

There should be a little box to tick where it says something like 'save £20 with voucher '. You have to tick the box and then it applies the voucher at checkout. I'm not sure if it's only available to some customers though? Or just for Prime customers? Not sure how it works...

I can't show you it for this product, as I've already claimed the voucher so it's no longer available to me. But you can see there's a voucher applicable on the second product down in the image below and when you click through to that product you should see the little tick box. Hope that helps?

Did anyone still have a Lakeland discount code please? I can’t find mine now.
Thank you!

Next currently have Bath and Body Works body mist fragrances on offer for £10 each. On the website and in-store. These are the large bottles that are normally £18 and very popular with teens/younger girls. I’ve just picked up a few for my nieces - the offer includes the new Christmas scents too - vanilla bean noel, twisted peppermint kiss, winter candy apple etc.

laura1711 · 22/10/2024 13:56

Bit of a random one but my DS loves a football strip, the Barcelona strip is on sale for £35 which is a great price

Our fav is still exploding kittens. Also like Mind. New ones for this year I've got cards vs gravity, Quickstop, Sounds Fishy, Power Hungry Pets but also like Herd Mentality and have my eye on You Can't say Umm and Read the Room.

Codenames
Blank Slate

But can't beat a quality card deck, with so many different ways to play! My DB and his family constantly show us new games they're playing, a card deck is all the 'games' they bring on holiday now.
