Thread 6 - the one with Otis and the Christmas miracle

@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

20% off Red Letter Days with code , I don’t think it’s a personal code. Today only

tabbycat985 · 20/10/2024 12:57

If anyone has monster truck fanatics, this is down to £10.99
It's a little noisy but well worth that price in my opinion

And many thanks to @ruralwanderer for the Argos code. Who knew that a £5 savings would make my day (but it did)!

Not strictly on topic but I promised the below to DS if he did his homework/reading without complaint and he did really well. Sadly it is now sold out in my local Tiger and online :(

If anyone comes across in theirs I wouls be eternally grateful if they could get it for me and send on. I would of course cover postage.

Does anyone know if I can get free postage on teapigs? I’m after the advent calendar for my niece but am on a budget so getting free postage would be very helpful!

Filterphobia · 20/10/2024 13:29

I seem to recall in previous years there was a website that sold Oodies that were like the real thing but without the label. Can anyone remember the website if it still exists?
Thanks

AndSoFinally · 20/10/2024 13:36

The original oodies are down to £39 on their site at the moment so may be worth getting a proper one?

Filterphobia · 20/10/2024 13:41

@AndSoFinally Thanks, I did see they were on sale. Were the other ones people were buying not much cheaper than this?

@Filterphobia 5poundstuffuk and in the VIP section

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 20/10/2024 13:59

@Filterphobia looking at their site, I’d say only the purple tie dye and green tie dye look like Oodies

Isonthecase · 20/10/2024 14:09

The other bodies place was on Ebay. I'm getting £5 off if I buy in the app today too so worth a butchers.

Did a quick shop in Sainsburys the other day and the till printed money off at Argos for my nectar card only. Worth a go for anyone needing one.

Also in Sainsburys, the new Charlie Bigham cookbook for £14. Still £17 on Amazon.

MamaK19 · 20/10/2024 14:12

Really sorry to be this person can anyone link the heated blankets that people have been ordering my friend needs one for her Grannie and I know there were some lovely ones on offer have been through the last couple of threads but can’t seem to find it 🫣

LemonTurdCart · 20/10/2024 14:13

I bought something via PayPal on Friday and had a £5 off in my PayPal account. Had a Google and I think it’s a random deal that they do periodically just for signing in, so worth a check ! Would be interested to know if anyone else gets one as I’ve not had it before.

Filterphobia · 20/10/2024 14:13

@TherebytheGraceofGodgoI amazing! Thanks for this, I’ve just ordered the blue/green tie dye one. £16.48 including postage plus TopCashback of 7% so definitely a saving on the Oodie website. Will report back if it’s a genuine one when it arrives.
