@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Bobbi brown star gift at Boots. I use the face cream and it’s normally more than this even with 10% off making the extras entirely free.

Does anyone have a code for my laithwaites wine?

GanderingGoose · 19/10/2024 21:20

Anyone know if they'll be any good deals on schleich this year and if so when that is likely to be? The entertainer and Smyths seem to be having less and less in stock so am I likely to get the best deal direct on schleich's website?

Hello, I'm relatively new to the Christmas threads having only started watching/checking/commenting for the past 2/3 years or so. I'm sure I've seen mention of a popular M&S Apothecary gift set that goes half price every year (?), but I've never been able to afford/justify its purchase - until this year! Is this something that goes on sale every year? Does it always go down to half price? If I recollect, around Black Friday? I want to be prepared!

Yes please for the photobox code.

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 19/10/2024 22:00

@whizpoppingcreature I hope so! I bought some last year and thought they were well worth the money at half price. I kept one and loved the products. I’m watching it this year to see if it gets reduced and will post if I see it first.

Houseofsardines · 19/10/2024 22:07

Sorry @MaybeMrs the photobox code already gone

MeanMrMustardSeed · 19/10/2024 23:01

Thank you so much to the poster who mentioned Gul’s dry robes on sale. I bought one for each of our DC (the 5 year old will be swamped but warm!), and a bodyboard each - all reduced from about £30/40 to a little over £10 each. Absolute bargain. They all arrived today. £160 for 4 dry robes and 5 bodyboards (got one for DH too!). Really chuffed. Thank you

@44PumpLane re the solace earrings.. yes, I totally agree - it's definitely the risk you take that you might not like the earrings but I was surprised to get three sets exactly the same.

@Nearlyadoctor I think the offer has ended but if you (or anyone else) would like one of my mystery sets for £10, I'd happily cover the postage.

@fluffytail I missed the Solace offer, so gutted.

If you still have a spare set, would love tobuy off you.Flowers

Thank you. My kids love Jellycat but it’s so expensive now, I think they’ll love these! Also ordered the £4 soft fairy wand for DD4.

mumonthehill · 20/10/2024 06:31

A bit left field but if anyone likes scandi leggings and head bands, Sports Pursuit have some lovely ones by Kari Traa. Also have Veho power banks quite reduced.

ruralwanderer · 20/10/2024 06:59

@whizpoppingcreature funnily enough I was searching for Apothecary gift sets last night as my mum loved the one I bought her last year. All still full price but I'll keep checking and report here if/ when I notice a price drop ☺
