Thread 4 - the one with our Guylian best before fate

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

My solace mystery bundle arrived and it’s fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing that deal

I went for the kids bundle and got a pair of small gold hoops, silver bee studs and a blue gem stone set in silver studs

DD will be very pleased with them in her stocking

Another happy customer here too - thanks to whoever posted the deal!

Another thing to tick off please - can I have your recommendations for a good frying pan please, described by DH as 'a posh non-teflon one' ?!

Also delighted with my whistlefish order that came through today. OHS heated blanket came yesterday and is great.

if you’ve got the cash these look incredible

Sorry this isn’t christmassy but thought you would be the best people to ask! Where is the best/most reasonably priced place to buy flowers? Need for next day delivery. Thanks in advance 💐

TheRedheadMummy · 09/10/2024 20:14

Not strictly Christmas but the hocus pocus colouring book is down to £3.80 from £10.99 on Amazon. I think I saw the Harry Potter one on sale too!

£4 in Asda too.

beetr00 · 09/10/2024 20:23

@CandyRaining have had most success by searching for highly recommended florists local to the recipient. 💐

oriel2013 · 09/10/2024 20:23

A little out of my price range unfortunately, agree they do look gorgeous!
I think he wants a metal one though. I'm thinking a heavy stainless steel type but I dont know what will last

Lego flowers in b&m £9.99

Thread 4 - the one with our Guylian best before fate
IlovePond · 09/10/2024 20:30

@Montanna15 - thanks for sharing - those are so much nicer than the roses that were in the one nearest to me.

I wonder if those cherry blossoms will be available in other stores- wondering if I should trek up there again!

TheCrow · 09/10/2024 20:35

Keep seeing adverts for these Harry Potter kinder eggs popping up in town, does anyone know what shops are selling them?

*black Friday

Montanna15 · 09/10/2024 20:41

@thecrow sainsburys have them. On the aisle with thr christmas chocolate.

Montanna15 · 09/10/2024 20:42

@ilovepond argos and amazon have the cherry blossom for the same price if that also helps.

Darkbutstarrynight · 09/10/2024 20:44

@CandyRaining
I always rate Bunches, really good customer services and unless things like roses with a shorter life anyway, flowers have lasted several weeks...over 3 weeks for some carnations last time I sent them . Often have offers, current sent to me is OFC15 for 15% until Sunday I think. Plants and other gifts too.

PurpleSkittler · 09/10/2024 20:45

If you're planning a big Lego purchase, take a look at Very today. They have quite a lot of Lego reductions, plus 20% extra off if you're a new customer and you open a Very Credit account (you can then pay the balance off in full to avoid fees).

Plus! Topcashback are giving 10% cashback on Toy purchases with Very today!! I think I've just got about £200 of Lego for around £120...

As I thought the mares and stallion unicorns are too big but the foals fit depending on the make up of her herd…

(apologies to others for cluttering up the thread, I couldn’t add photos via PM!)

I absolutely love this thread 😂🥰

I grabbed some in home bargains last week!

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 09/10/2024 20:56

@Elpheba Apologies for the unsolicited advice, but my daughter uses her Lottie doll stable for her schliech unicorn herd 🦄

lemonsmum · 09/10/2024 20:59

@issantahereyet also bought a few times off bohomoon after seeing them mentioned on the thread last year. I agree about ordering when they do the £10 deal. I've also had good customer service when I've needed to email them.

marshmallowmix · 09/10/2024 21:02

Are the Laithwaite’s wines any good? Saw a few deals on and wondering if they are drinkable ?

LoveHearts69 · 09/10/2024 21:11

Do OHS have a discount code that works on sale does anyone know?

Notlongnow1 · 09/10/2024 21:17

@CandyRaining m&s had 20% off with AUTUMN20. Not sure if still valid.

@thecrow Tesco had them this week and think they had a clubcard price 🤔

@badgerface no apology necessary - things like this are what make this thread so lovely 💖

I bought What Next? from Bargain max for £9.99. Looks far more substantial than I expected for the price and think it will go down well with DS9.

My DP has hexclad and swears by them. They’re v. Posh (and expensive - although you could check Amazon). Pretty sure they’re not Teflon as you can use metal scrubbers etc to clean them, although you don’t really need to as the dirt practically falls off them! And they can go in the dishwasher as well.

They have lots of well known brands. I have bought some of the mixed boxes and they ranged from ok to really good.

I used a blue light card, only 5% off but there was a topcashback offer too
