It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hobbycraft have an Art sale on with 25% off Posca pens - they also have a code at the minute for £5 off a £15 spend: HC515.

Art sale ends tonight but the code is good through to the 22nd.

Not all the pens have 25% off though strangely, despite having the 25% banner online - I spoke to the customer service team and they said it was an error and would get the website team on it but this was over a week ago now! Do you know if they are all 25% off instore?

munchbunch12 · 08/10/2024 11:10

In B&Ms there were matching Christmas pjs, adults seemed to be £10 and kids were £5-7.

There were also boxes of American sweets at £5, and whilst I couldn't find the Pringles a PP mentioned, I did find a pack of 8 x 40g tubs for £7.

I can’t decide whether to sign up to prime for the deals day 🤔 (already used my free trial this year). Are the bargains worth it does anyone think? Although I suppose it depends what you’re buying and I won’t really know until I look.. if you’ve got yourself a good bargain on there I’d love to hear. Thanks in advance.

noscoobydoodle · 08/10/2024 11:57

@Ewock my DD still has her toniebox and she is 9 - usually listens to roald dahl/enid blyton tonies before bed and will be getting some of the new pocket books (David Williams ones) for Christmas.

44PumpLane · 08/10/2024 12:09

@Ewock I did a lot of research before committing a few years ago and would strongly recommend the Yoto for longevity.

From a practical standpoint it's also much easier to store the credit card sized cards rather than the character tonies (for younger kids the tonies are super cute but I feel they are less practical). We can easily take 30 to cards with us on holiday and they take up barely any room.

Less likely to lose credit card sized items rather than small plastic toys.

Also the cost of much lower if you purchase multi packs of create your own cards.

There were a whole host of other reasons I went yoto but mine are nearly 8 and several years into ownership and they still love it, and many friends have also purchased yoto from my recommendation and love it!

If you gag about going through checkout motions (but stop before paying) you may find the website throws a 99p Prime trial at you? I've just had that (website tho not app) then just remember to cancel

Just got this with a glossybox delivery. Not sure if anyone is interested as a gift

Anyone want £5 off a £50 spend at Argos - use by 9th (tomorrow). Will pm code so it isn’t pinched.

STom2 · 08/10/2024 12:30

Thanks @NC2709 ! Coincidentally Toby has been my almost 2 year olds favourite (not sure why but always the one he picks from eldest DS busy book). I picked him up a starter Brio set for Xmas so I might get him a Toby to go on it! 😊
