Thread 4 - the one with our Guylian best before fate

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

If you are planning on a big lego order today is the best day for cashback on TopCashBack it seems

I think they've done a better cashback deal in previous years @redjoker TCB were already offering this rate a few days ago, I think.

Can anyone else remember how high TCB or Quidco cashback has gone in the past for the Lego store and when?

CarrotsInTheMist · 08/10/2024 12:42

Just had my Whistlefish dispatch email, I ordered Monday 30th Sept 🥳

A huge thank you to posters who replied to my Anthropologie questions ... I've ordered some gorgeous china monogrammed mugs as gifts and with extra 20% off sale and a birthday day code for free delivery they came in at £4.80, very happy.

And, I've just had an email to say they have been dispatched this lunchtime and are with Royal Mail and email showed VAT at source. So my worries re taxes etc were all unfounded.

Just in case > fingers crossed, you never know < it ends up being a generic code, this birthday code got me free shipping -

BDAYN82QBCTCSET

Thanks again x

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 08/10/2024 13:34

I have a 15% off Yoshi birthday code if anyone wants it?

Hi,

Just had a look through the Prime deals. Barbie dream house is £139 - I have no idea if this is a good price or not, but I know some people were interested in it a while back.

In Beauty and Skincare there were good deals on:

The Ordinary
Neal’s Yard
The odd thing from L’ Occitane
Kate Somerville
Dove
Perricone MD

In Food:

Dolce Gusto pods - I love these, but have quite a lot on the go so restrained myself.
Lindt

I was quite restrained and just bought a lipstick from Perricone MD for under £7 and some pomade that younger DS seems to like, which was massively reduced.

IlovePond · 08/10/2024 14:14

Boots £10 Tuesday has some good deals on beauty products. For example:

Roc
Nip + Fab
Soap and Glory
Grown Alchemist
Olay

SophieTheGuineaPig · 08/10/2024 14:15

My girl has a Toniebox. As the other said, Yoto is the more sensible option - the cards take up less space, they're cheaper and there's more variety. I bought our Toniebox knowing these disadvantages though, and have not regretted it one bit.

The tonie characters are fun to play with - DD can listen to a story and 5 minutes later will be putting the tonie to sleep in a pretend bed, or gather a squad of disney princesses to live in her Lego castle. I'm prepared to accept she will outgrow it quickly, we will pass it on to my niece and buy a Yoto instead :)

IlovePond · 08/10/2024 14:19

Lands End has a sale on atm. I got some good swim shorts.

There’s also 25% full price goods.

Unfortunately, returns aren’t free, but I took a chance with the shorts and it paid off. (Fortunately I ignored the reviews that recommended sizing down 🙀)

Hey ramon, sorry are you referring to Anthropologie? Grin

oops yes, I meant to include message in my reply.
My order arrived today, some v nice stuff for my kids that otherwise would have been far too expensive to consider!

bizzey · 08/10/2024 14:38

Sunday 29th whistlefish order is on its way !

djfjfj · 08/10/2024 15:31

My Solace mystery bundle order is on the way; I’m quite excited to see what I get, I hope I don’t get anything too random!

bizzey · 08/10/2024 15:36

A big shout out of thanks to the poster who told me me Occado and hot chocolate gift/individuals .

I did get them (arrived today !)
£3.99.

Nice box of Celebrations hot chocolate sachets. (8 )

Unfortunately...I had to order myself 2 bottles of wine and kitchen sponges to make up the minimum delivery!
AHH ...well ..
We will do anything for our kids right 🙄😂😂😂😁!

bizzey · 08/10/2024 15:43

Need to substitute the snickers one for a DC though !
I have seen individual at 35p if galaxy.

🤔🤔🤔🤔..... 8 x 35p is less than £3.99 ?

Ohh well ...nice to try them all out !

There is 15% off at M&S for home and clothing with Sparks card at the moment. Not sure how long for xx

I think may be a personalised Sparks offer, as it’s not available now in my account and wasn’t yesterday.

I did buy several bargainous duvet sets and linen sheets very recently, though.

IlovePond · 08/10/2024 15:51

Sadly all I have on Sparks are ridiculous things like 15% off prepared salads. My offers for the last couple of years have all been for things I have zero interest in purchasing 😿

IlovePond · 08/10/2024 15:56

Amazon Prime day has some good money off deals on perfume.

For example, there was a Diesel one with 50% off and there are some good reductions on Elizabeth Arden perfume and skincare.

pantomanto · 08/10/2024 16:00

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy jellycats? Best place to buy 2 of them, preferably with a discount? Thanks.

Backatsquareone · 08/10/2024 16:06

15% off notonthehighstreet including sale when you spend £35. Ends tomorrow at midnight. Code is FLASH15

STom2 · 08/10/2024 16:07

Thanks for the headline bargains @IlovePond. Treated myself to some Neals Yard bits as I love their bubble bath. Trying to talk myself out of buying the 1kg if Lindor...🙈

StrawberryThief1930 · 08/10/2024 16:15

also interested in discounts on jellycats. someone posted something about fleur... I can't remember 🙈 website. but when I looked they were all out of stock. so following with interest. Need something "cool" for an 11 year old!

RudolphsDashing · 08/10/2024 16:47

https://www.temptationgifts.com are the best for Jellycats. They're very rarely on sale anywhere but they usually have some on here, plus a really wide range. They also sell other cute stuff on there too.

If you have a student in the house M&S are currently offering 15% off with student beans code.
