Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Is it a generic code or individual?

I think it's individual. Have you checked your email?

Wetbrushes seemed popular on this thread last year - and have been a bit of a saviour with DS's long, curly hair. I've just seen this selection of 'Original' Wetbrushes in TKmaxx for a bargainous £4.99. The same size are in Boots at £8.66 reduced from £13.

Just picked this up in B&M for Harry Potter obsessed DS. £14.99. Seems to be c £20-25 elsewhere. Clementoni toys always seem good value/quality to me so fingers crossed it's a hit!

Omg I know the one you mean I got it for my little one, it comes in a box with a bowl, cushion and bone, it walks and barks and it is a sausage dog, it was in the main toy aisle when I picked it up not the toy promotion bit and it was £19.99! If I see it again I will take a picture for you, or if you just need a picture of the actual dog to check I can take a picture of the one I have at home ☺️

Did anyone order the 5 items for £10 IWOOT offer? I know there have been issues in the past but they had lots of items ideal for my DS so I took the chance. They’ve taken the money minus £1.50 so now I’m wondering what is going to be missing! I’ll be annoyed if they’ve taken more than item off. No sign of an email to say what’s going on and payment was taken earlier this week!

Edited

I had awful experiences with IWOOT a year or two ago. They took money for items they didn't have and it took me about 4 months to get a refund. What they did manage to send came after Christmas (ordered mid November). I hope it works out better for you but don't be surprised if it doesn't!

MayaTheBusyBee · 03/10/2024 14:23

I have 20% off £50 spend at Lakeland voucher
and also 25% off New Look - doesn’t specify min spend
If anyone can make use of them

Thanks for sharing. Luckily it’s not a large amount of money so it was worth a go (and I paid with PayPal in case of issues) but after all the issues with Claire’s I am fed up with companies that have useless systems and can’t fulfill orders!

In the case of Claire’s they send out advertising emails all the time - why, when they know their system has issues and they can’t fulfill the offers and many of the items they’re advertising?!

THANKYOU20 gives you 20% off St Eval candles. There is a lovely advent calender on the website. I did post the code a couple of weeks ago and placed an order myself. I had a lot of issues with DPD and still don't know where the original parcel went. But hats off to St Eval, great customer service and a replacement easily and quickly sent. I will be recommending to everyone.

chinupoldchap · 03/10/2024 14:52

For the pp wanting bath bombs, home bargains do surprise ones with a little toy or bracelet in for £1.25, they do Xmas themed ones too

ZIGGY911 · 03/10/2024 14:54

Are secret sales good for perfume. I worry they are fakes.

Amazing, I think the cushion makes sense - that must be why she thinks it sleeps.

I’ve messaged you. I’d love the Lakeland one please. Can you pm it to me if it’s still available as lots of sneaky thread lurkers nab codes every single year! Thank you 🙏🏻 🎄❄️🎅🏻

OnionBag · 03/10/2024 15:23

@Skullduggeryfizz could you link to the St Eval advent calendar? I can only find a yankee candle one. Thanks 🤩

For those looking for Harry Potter colour change hot choc in B and M, they also have a 3 pack box, with stir wand and toppings (marshmallows, sprinkles and crushed candy cane) for £4. Perfect for my 3 for our Christmas Eve box.

Whilst there, I also picked up Squishmallow hot choc and cookie little sets (£1.25 each) and Radox Cosy Cabin bubble bath (spiced orange and vanilla scent)

Do you have a picture of the Harry Potter set & Radox at all please? I have a serious case of Butterfly Brain and if I don't have a reference picture, my attention will just be drawn elsewhere 😆

Does anyone have any bargains for thermals. Need to purchase for teens/adults for a snow/cold trip.

Primark. They do good thermals and socks.

Famousthehero · 03/10/2024 16:26

Smyths catalogue is now the bane of my life 🥲

DD7 has fallen for the big Lego Simba; I’ve found it at very for £90 and think I’d get 20% off as a new customer so £70 odd…

does anybody have good Lego knowledge? Are there likely to be better deals? Usually I buy from vinted, but the best they have is the same price for a used set at the moment…

Sorry for the slightly late request - I think here is where I have the most chance of finding the right thing! My littlest saw a toy dog in the tesco toy sale, it was in one of those open boxes. I think it was brown, and it might have been a sausage dog.
She's obsessed, and searches for it in tesco but it's not there anymore.

Did anyone take photos in the toy sale and can spot anything matching that vague description?

it wasn’t this one was it. My daughter had this and loves it. I remember seeing it in Tesco a while ago

Sorry I hadn’t read the full thread yet just seen you’ve had this sent many times 🙈

WideFootWelly · 03/10/2024 17:03

My daughter just confirmed it's the one with the cushion. Thank you everyone!
She was literally bouncing around the room in anticipation of Christmas and this dog. Going to order it now.
