Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Oops I’ve read through the thread and see this question had been answered already.

Can I please ask again for all and any ideas for a ten year old little girl - presents that are ‘in’ and ‘cool’ - toys/clothes/hoodie - anything.

She is a gentle girly girl and has lots of sisters so has a lot ‘handed’ down - budget around £40

Is she into doing hair? It's a bit out there, but maybe a 'hairdressing head'? I got one to practise hairstyles for a friend's wedding, and my DD loves playing with it. It clamps to the table. Amazon has them for around £20-30.

Crimsonbow · 24/09/2024 12:12

@RainbowZebraWarrior my store had the Christmas magazines if that's what you mean?

Annoyingly didn't have the percy pig advent calendars that my two have asked for, lots of space currently being taken up by Halloween

Re the Lego bus on Amazon for £15, you can get an extra 5% off if ordering 4 eligible items

Looks like all OOS now

BoilingHotand50something · 24/09/2024 12:36

Sounds like the Hot Diamonds code isn’t working now but do look out for it again. I got a pair of earrings for £12.50 with free delivery and they have just arrived, packaged absolutely beautifully. My DD is going to think I’ve spent a fortune! 😂

MamaK19 · 24/09/2024 12:58

Just ordered some great crafty bits for over Dec, Christmas chef hat for my soon to be 4yo, and some cute decorations super cheap at the Sue Ryder Christmas shop - super tempted by the Christmas tree train too but that one will have to wait until payday😂Link here!

Notlongnow1 · 24/09/2024 13:01

Does anyone know if Ocado Christmas slot releases are staggered? I have a smart pass and haven't received an email and they aren't available on app for me 🤔

Delahot · 24/09/2024 13:05

Anyone know where to get crocs Jibbitz things. Won’t pay £5 postage on crocs website for a £4 item!

themostspecialelfintheworkshop · 24/09/2024 13:05

Shashibo cubes are on a limited time deal on amazon at the moment. Have been looking for one for a while and rarely seen below £20

Great for children (and adults) that need something to fidget with

There's a discussion about it here.

Just got my email from Ocado - Christmas slots open next week! | Mumsnet

Is it always as early as this? Admittedly, I am planning to make the Christmas cake and mincemeat over the weekend.

I haven’t received an email either. I think it might depend on what area you live in. Hopefully they’ll email soon 🤞

Thanks to everyone!
Some great ideas - anyone know where the offers are for the Sol de Janerio sets are - I seem to remember last year they were like gold dust coming up to Christmas, can’t remember what set it was.

Last year the set with a few different fragrances was popular. I got it at a great price from Notino. This year they have small sets with one fragrance, a small body wash and moisturiser. They’re £30 but on some sites for £24.

Just wondering when/if there will be Smyths discount/voucher - my dd looked through the catalogue and wants a smyths exclusive item from Santa 🤦‍♀️

Normally around September/October Smyths do the "£10 off per £50 spend" (or was it £5 off?...) thing which they do every year.

Also, I booked my Sainsburys Christmas collection slot online today too.

evtheria · 24/09/2024 13:39

2 things spotted in Home Bargains that I thought could make good gifts:
Polaroid P1 music player (it's just a Bluetooth speaker, though). It's 2x as much on Amazon. Can connect 2 to make stereo sound. Pleasingly retro and chunky form. £10
Horrid Henry themed Bookeez toy. Last year (?) someone linked the pink version of this, I bought one plus a refill, it was a hit! £5 is a bargain.

PS. Link to another pic of Polaroid speaker, showing it has buttons, volume dial and carabiner on top. Extra pic

Mine have just arrived too and beautiful packaging. Just to add the 50% off stacked with the 25% student/keyworker codes too so I got a right bargain!

Sainsbury's?

No Christmas dates showing for me yet.

I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof checking flipping Waitrose and Sainsbury's constantly.

Not cheap but Liberty have 20% off. Tempting me to spend on a handbag for myself. Not helpful 😬

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 24/09/2024 14:06

hby9628 · 24/09/2024 14:16

The small sol de janeiro sets on look fantastic come up as £23.70 if you use code 40PLUS and there's free delivery on their app

Note it's an Instagram influencers code not mine

It actually will take a discount off quite a lot of products so worth trying on anything else you might want to buy there

Wish I had known the codes stacked and used it. Fingers cross it comes back on!

teatimefortiger · 24/09/2024 15:03

I ordered the Harry Potter box thing from Boots. After reading later messages, I was thinking it would turn up looking very bashed about but mine was very well packaged and in great nick. I would be raging if I had spent £44 on it though!!!

juicyjellybaby · 24/09/2024 15:41

This set is only £19.75 with the look fantastic code
