Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@FollowingForTheCraic

Ah yes, does anyone know what the gear bots are like?

Never actually got built here unfortunately so I wouldn't know!

Qwerty21 · 21/09/2024 15:26

Thanks for whitlfish, that's cards sorted

AnotherBreakfast · 21/09/2024 15:50

My youngest is desperate for a micro scooter cruiser like his brother - does anyone know if micro scooters do good Black Friday offers?

BoilingHotand50something · 21/09/2024 16:10

Thanks for the Hot Diamonds stacking codes. Picked up a bargain pair of earrings.

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 21/09/2024 16:43

Just jumped on the Whistlefish bandwagon as I needed to stock up on cards. Got the notelets tin for a hard to buy for older relative who always sends cards to people - will pair it with some lovely handcream.

I've popped my Whistlefish referral code on the referrals board if anyone would like to use it.

LePetitMaman · 21/09/2024 16:51

All, on whistlefish, I’m not even sure how it happened, but I used the Microsoft look for discounts thing at checkout and I got 10 cards for £7.25 incl delivery!

Apologies for copying this from last thread, but what is the Microsoft look for discounts thing at checkout that @lostcats was referring too?

IlovePond · 21/09/2024 17:05

Hi,

Loads of Korean hand cream - different makes/scents in TKMaxx today. Prices started at £2.99 - would make good stocking fillers.

Also saw a couple of these in case anyone wants to go full Xmas! (I particularly liked the Xmas lights on the tree 😹) Kind of wish I had bought one now.

Thanks for the Whistlefish tip. I used a different email address and got the 10 for 10 and 15 for 10 for £7.25 each!

I want to get the Fortnite battle bus but £90 is so much for Lego. Any chance there'll be a deal somewhere or should I just suck it up and pre order in case it sells out?

I suspect very little chance of discount, as it's new out, and likely to very popular. I've sucked it up and ordered it, as I also wasn't sure if it would sell out whilst I procrastinated!

wholenutcadburys · 21/09/2024 17:35

Any White Company Discount codes that anyone can spare please?

mrsanflowerpot · 21/09/2024 19:07

I've been saving my £10 off £200 code at Argos to go on and spend today and discovered 20th was actually yesterday not today Blush

Does anyone have any codes they would be willing to share?

LostCats · 21/09/2024 19:08

@LePetitMaman if you’re on a Microsoft laptop (I don’t know about phone), when you get to checkout a pop up usually comes up with if it is available cheaper elsewhere or if there are discount codes available. If you click on the accept to check, it cycles through the discount codes to see if any work. Not sure if that helps or if someone more techy could help more?

Filterphobia · 21/09/2024 19:20

@VeruccaSalty I’ve bit the bullet on the Lego Fortnite bus and preordered. I had a mild panic as I looked on Smyths toys and it’s showing as OOS everywhere even though I know it’s not out until Oct but Smyths says stock expected January! That prompted me to do a Lego preorder direct. Use TopCashback though for 3% I forgot until after I had done it 🙈

17caterpillars1mouse · 21/09/2024 20:27

I've ordered a cute lego dots space rocket pencil holder set on zavvi, discounted and also noted they had lots of other lego discounts. It arrived promptly.

I've also got £30 off the velvetiser from Hotel Chocolate from being on their VIP club

Teacher Ideas

DS has just gone into year 2 and has 1 teacher & a teaching assistant.

This year we're collectively as a class not doing the joint thing so ideas my way needed!! It's only been a few weeks so I know nothing about his teacher. Any ideas that might go down well and not the usual wine, chocolates??
I'd like something a bit more thoughtful ❤️

Thank you all xx

My 7 year old has asked for one of them electric bumper cars but I’ve had a look and they are all for smaller kids, has anyone seen any about that would be suitable for an older kid
