Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Anyone know where to get crocs Jibbitz things. Won’t pay £5 postage on crocs website for a £4 item!

@Delahot get them from Shein. Full sets for £2. Hundreds of them.

PlanBea · 24/09/2024 16:42

I think I'm sorted for all the kids for Christmas, except for the inevitable ask from friends and family for what my own DS wants (maybe that squishmallow 😂)! Just three parents (who will want a say in what they get), three aunts/uncles, and a DH left to buy for 🎉 it's not even October!

Thanks Mumsnetters, I think this year is my personal best haha!

Are you looking for the horses? I have 2 somewhere I think. I was going to donate to the school but don’t think I did in the end.

Does anyone here have the monster high haunted high school? Is it any good?

And has anyone seen any offers for it please

Restlessinthenorth · 24/09/2024 17:54

Argh, blink and I've missed hot diamonds! Hoping they do something else barganouis again before Xmas

YeahWellWhyNot · 24/09/2024 18:00

Any suggestions for a 2yo girl? She's my third so has inherited a lot from her older siblings and cousins so I have the usual suspects covered, e.g. we have a collection of Little People, a few magnetic tiles, a couple of dolls and some wooden food for our kitchen. She's just had her bday and was given toddler bike & scooter by grandparents. Her brothers have lists, and I don't want to buy her something for the sake of it but I'm out of ideas as the boys will expect her to get something 🤷🏼

sorryiasked · 24/09/2024 18:02

Not a bargain a such although 10% off if you sign up to the newsletter but I've found loads of unusual gifts at culture vulture

What about consumable craft things like playdough and stickers? Bath crayons? Or fun bubble bath and a novelty sponge?

Duplo? You’ve probably got tonnes already but the small sets are still quite expensive so a decent present without being too bulky.

YeahWellWhyNot · 24/09/2024 18:37

@NorthantsNewbie playdoh is a good idea, thanks, most of ours is blue/green thanks to her brothers 🤪

imnottoofussed · 24/09/2024 18:46

Did I see someone on here that wanted a perricone moisturiser? There's one in the sale on Next at the moment. Still expensive but may be the one you wanted

I received five of the mystery Papergang boxes yesterday, I was quite disappointed to receive four of the same box though! I was hoping to break it down for stocking fillers/advent calendar stuffers but can't do this now. I've emailed them to query as I assumed I'd receive five different boxes and wouldn't have ordered if I'd known I was getting four the same. It isn't a great box either so I can understand why they have an excess!

I complained to them about a duplicate and they are sending another out foc.

Oh yas! So it does on the brown one. I only looked at the raspberry one so I never noticed

Thanks for this 😃 I’m going to buy them anyway. It’s a before before date, not a use by date so they’ll be fine!!

For my third some of the presents were wrapped up things we already had eg arm bands etc!

Also, in my opinion the more magnetiles you have the more you can do, so if you only have a few maybe some more of those?

YeahWellWhyNot · 24/09/2024 19:35

@MissMaryBennet that's not a bag shout about the tiles. Thank you 😊

Have you been in store? I want to know if they have the brochures out. They didn't yesterday.

No, I've not been in store, sorry.

Great looking world snack box subscription here: https://snackverse.com/

There's 20% off your first box with code TWENTYOFF. A box of five snacks would be £6.39 or box of ten snacks and drinks would be £11.19 with the offer.

Each month the box is filled with snacks from a different country. Boxes can be cancelled at anytime. I have gone for a ten box, my foodie tween daughter will love it!

A little brio train track. Bubble machine. The Melissa and Doug ice cream shop. A giant squishmallow that's probably the same size as her! Bath toys - the pipes and cogs were a hit here. A dolls house - you can often pick them up really cheap on marketplace in great condition. A pushchair and dolly.
