Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Did it just take a week to fill the old one?!

FilthyforFirth · 21/09/2024 11:23

Someone mentioned tonies on clearance at Argos but I can't see any. Could someone provide a link if they see them please?!

VeruccaSalty · 21/09/2024 11:43

I want to get the Fortnite battle bus but £90 is so much for Lego. Any chance there'll be a deal somewhere or should I just suck it up and pre order in case it sells out?

I can see Wonder Woman is £7.50 lady and the tramp, the wishing chair and Soul are all £11.

FilthyforFirth · 21/09/2024 11:57

Why can't I see that?! Any chance of a link please?

SootspriteSearcher · 21/09/2024 11:59

It was shared on the last thread but Included in the claires 50% off soft toys are palm pals for £4 each. These are super soft, they would make a lovely stocking filler for jellycat fans. Or possibly younger siblings who you want an equivalent for but don't want to pay a fortune out.

I'm a self confessed soft toy addict and collect them myself! They are the perfect size for a pocket. My daughter has one who she takes in her blazer pocket to school sometimes when she feels overwhelmed.

Free delivery at Lakeland until Monday night, no minimum spend

Beth262 · 21/09/2024 12:28

@FilthyforFirth didn't come up for me either until I searched specifically "tonie lady and the tramp" on the argos site then popped up as £11. Bizarre.

Ah I'm so glad it isn't me, thought I was going mad!

Got DS the Wishing Chair, thanks for all your help.

There are some cute star hand warmers in the Oliver Bonas sale, £5 down from £17.50! Would be lovely as a stocking filler, or maybe a teacher gift for playground duty etc.

Link here x

Star Pink Hand Warmers Set of Two | Oliver Bonas

Fun in both colour and design, click the metal disc inside these star hand warmers to heat, then put in boiling water to soften and reuse.

Thank you everyone for the whistledown whistlefish info on the buy 10 cards for £10.

I just ordered a super stash of goodies that came to £70 & then used the 20% as a newbie. Brilliant!

TryingToHelpBut · 21/09/2024 13:14

I did get that code to work on whistlefush so thanks to @Theraffarian on end of previous thread.

weareallqueens · 21/09/2024 13:52

A reminder that there are 40cm Squishmallows half price at Smyths. Aldi are also due to get 40cm Stitch and Pokémon toys in store tomorrow.

virgocatlover · 21/09/2024 14:04

Thanks for the Whistlefish code - £7.25 for 15 Christmas cards delivered!

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 21/09/2024 14:15

I went to hmv today and they had lovely Japanese items in the sale and they also had lots of different imported sweets. They weren’t cheap but might suit a foodie teen!

Hoping for some lego recommendations from you more organised lot 😃

My DS (6) loves Lego and enjoys the technic bits like gears, building them up with battery packs etc.
Any recommendations of a good gift set for this? "Normal Lego" is a slight waste as he'd prefer to take it apart to make other things. I'll pop a photo below of what I mean.. he sits and watches YouTube videos of people creating all sorts 😂

The Klutz range (on Amazon) might suit him?

Great deals on dolls houses and play kitchens at Bargainmax, up to 60% off Bargainmax

SomeFiggyPudding · 21/09/2024 14:35

I’ve just been to Superdrug. Picked this little set up for £1.20, reduced from £10 because they are changing the packaging shortly! Going to put it aside for my sister for Christmas, thought it was a bargain for any skincare fans.

Same here, I just searched tonies and ordered by price when I saw it mentioned. Don’t know if the OP saw them on a clearance page or something.

mumonthehill · 21/09/2024 15:08

On my tesco online there is this down from £109 to £19.99 Dr Botanicals Aroma Diffuser With Wood Grain Base (USB)

Clucket87 · 21/09/2024 15:11

Try typing it as Tonie.
I did and they came up. Xx
