Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I’ve just had a look for you and this is what you get for a referral. It says minimum spend £80. I don’t know if it stacks with the 30% off and I think you would need to give someone your email address so they can refer you. Hope this helps.

Re whistlefish, the jute bags are £6 for 2 and they are a perfect size and come in lovely colours. By mum bought me some back from Cornwall earlier in the year and I use them lots!
