I know there’s one every year and I appreciate some people find it distasteful but if that’s you, please just look away. I know so many people love it and I want to see all your fridges!! I have to go to waitrose tonight and then have meat being delivered on Friday so will post mine then🎄

Go away then. It’s really simple.

I like this post every year. No food shop for me until the weekend though.

EndOfMyTether11 · 20/12/2023 12:24

Surely it's just a fridge full of food? 😂

Candycurrantbun · 20/12/2023 12:25

Bit braggy. In a look at all the money I have way.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 20/12/2023 12:26

I won't be sharing a photo but I can try and describe the smell upon opening the door to the newly renamed cheese vault if you like?

Candycurrantbun · 20/12/2023 12:27

I like how the OP had to mention her Waitrose shop though.

Yes please!

It's very clear what the thread is, why click on it to say you don't like it. Blows my mind.

I'm looking forward to seeing them all too, mainly for inspiration for my last minute shop!

Heyhoherewegoagain · 20/12/2023 12:34

Never ever on all my too many years on Mumsnet have I seen anything like this

There's one of these threads every year. It's not a new thing.

Its good for people to be told they are tone deaf and tacky sometimes

LightToTheWorld · 20/12/2023 12:38

I am very nosy about this sort of thing- I love looking in people's baskets at the supermarket and thinking "oh he's making paella, she's very keen on carrots, wonder why they've bought all those eggs" etc etc- but even I can't see the point of this.

I see this thread every year. Some are so crammed full you literally couldn't get another thing in.

This is one of my favourite threads of Christmas Xmas Grin It's a bit early for us, though, we hae a snack stash but the fridge shop isn't done yet. I mean, there's a healthy cheese mountain in there, and some boozy creams, but the meat and veg haven't arrived yet. It's had a good cleanout, though, so it's ready...

RainDropsStorm · 20/12/2023 12:46

Love the annual mn Christmas fridge thread. Planning on doing my food shop at the weekend (I couldn't get a delivery slot 😪)

I nipped to m&s last week and got all my buffet bits (but unfortunately they have somehow disappeared Confused)

New plan is to pop back to m&s re stock then Tesco.

Looking forward to seeing all the fridges.

Tippletoomany · 20/12/2023 12:49

Not intended to be braggy in the slightest, genuinely just appreciate people’s fridges at this time of year and get excited for the festivities. I know it’s not for everyone.

  1. It smells like a cartoon cloud of oozing noxious cheese gas. If Christmas burglars break in and open the fridge, they will be knocked out for long enough for even the UK police to come and scoop them up. It is a smell that promises to linger long into the new year. Next July, there will be whiffs of cheese dropping into many a summer salad social.
  2. I'm getting the distinct impression that this may be an unpopular opinion around this particular mumsnet district, but I love a picture of a full fridge. It is immensely comforting, for some reason.

As I said, I have shopping left to come so isn’t really full yet but will post on Friday.

I love this🤣 That distinct cheese smell is coming straight through my blocked nose!

I think it is controversial and I understand why people see it as distasteful but it is ultimately just a bit of fun seeing how people feed for Christmas and it definitely gets you excited for the food! I’m sure all the people saying it’s distasteful aren’t donating any money to people less fortunate.

So.. a fridge thread (which btw I love every year!) and so far no photos of fridges?

Bah...

Can't post mine yet as it's not full enough!

Sallyh87 · 20/12/2023 13:49

I’ll be back with mine! I love this thread every year. Although, I get criticism every year so miss storage of items 😂

  • meat on the wrong shelf
  • bananas in the fridge
  • potatoes in the fridge
  • etc
Choirgirl30 · 20/12/2023 14:13

I look forward to this every year!

WhimsicalMoth · 20/12/2023 14:36

I will post mine in the next few days 😁

anothernamitynamenamechange · 20/12/2023 14:49

I don't think its bragging
I am not doing a proper christmassy christmas this year and am trying not to overdo it on spending either because things are tight (and Im all on my own so it would be greedy to eat a whole turkey) but I LOVE pictures of full fridges/meal plans etc.
