A bit stuck for DH so looking to see if I can copy someone else’s ideas!

Last years gift, but the most successful I've ever given (as in most gratefully recieved) was a year of subscription to 'cheese geek'. A box delivered every month of artisan cheeses. Hubby said it was like having Christmas every month.

Furry lined crocs so he can take the bins out in all weathers

TheOGSloth · 07/12/2023 18:32

Mini fridge! He's a HGV driver so I've got one with a USB so he can keep it in his cab. I got it delivered to my sister's work and loads of them have ordered one too

Not a gift from me, but my husband loved his rechargeable heated slippers. He works in a garden office and it does get a bit cool. I'm wondering about getting him one of these this year. https://heatka.co.uk/products/heatka-hand-warmer?gadsource=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIicSNq-D9ggMVVJFQBh1MMQeCEAAYAiAAEgKVKfDBwE

Adult Lego (he asked for it).

MissingMoominMamma · 07/12/2023 18:38

A holiday. I do it every year. I book the holiday and he provides the spending money for my present. Win win.

MonkeyPuddle · 07/12/2023 18:39

BBQ accessories to go with the BBQ he’s getting for his birthday this weekend.

We have reached possibly rock bottom in terms of gift ideas and just ran through items that need replacing as worn out or broken.

So DH is getting pyjamas and a hairdryer. I am getting gloves and a mini food processor. We previously had a 'no household items rule' for Christmas but this year we are completely uninspired.

Does your DH read books at all? I am also buying one of the book bundles from Daunt Books as it's an easy way to pick 3 books on a subject he is interested in.

PurBal · 07/12/2023 18:52

I got a bread maker last year

Fiftyvines · 07/12/2023 18:55

Games for his PS5, that was his bday present last month, limited edition chef apron, he's a chef, cologne. New underwear, socks and chocolate for his xmas stocking.

Increasinglyfrazzledteacher · 07/12/2023 18:59

A bottle whisky or rum that costs more than he’d be willing to pay. Jumpers and shirts because he’d choose crap ones if left to his own devices. Socks and underpants as he’d never get around to buying them himself. Works every time.

17caterpillars1mouse · 07/12/2023 19:18

We aren't doing expensive gifts this year as we've just become a family of 5 so ice just got a few bits

  • Turkish delight flavoured hot chocolate (I got this the year before last and it was s hit)
  • a big bottle of decent maple syrup
  • an art book

I'll probably get one more thing but undecided yet

Trinity69 · 07/12/2023 19:23

An impact driver. I know not what it is or does but it was his one request.

IncompleteSenten · 07/12/2023 19:25

Some cologne, same as every year. It's what he loves.

TragicMuse · 07/12/2023 19:26

He doesn't do gadgets, doesn't have a 'hobby', doesn't drink spirits, is very very particular about the limited palette of clothes he likes, doesn't want 'stuff', doesn't play games, doesn't wear trainers, doesn't wear a watch, isn't at all into tech...I adore him but he's honestly very hard to buy for. It's also his birthday in a few days. So it's double whammy and I absolutely refuse to buy him joint presents, he had that all his childhood and they're NEVER twice the value of everyone else's presents, no matter what anyone says. No other bugger in the family has to spread one present for Christmas and birthday so he I make very sure he gets absolutely separate presents, not wrapped in Christmas paper, and the tree doesn't go up till after his birthday!

I've bought him some clothes - he's very tall and won't wear anything blue, including jeans. That makes trousers incredibly difficult to buy and very expensive, so I've splash out on 2 pairs from brands that will actually fit him. Shirts, a jumper.

Other than that it's books and CDs - he doesn't stream!

There'll be chocolate, socks, maybe a set of new earphones and a few things he likes in his stocking.
