Morning!

It's the final Rudolph Day of the year! A month today is the big day!

I'm sending DH off to his parents' house with the kids so I can wrap today. I usually fail to be Christmassy on Rudolph Days! 🤣

My food delivery is coming but minus several items including the pigs in blankets. I am not impressed with Morrisons this year. I have my daughter on the case, she works in Morrisons in a different town.

I have just started cleaning. First job on today's list.

I have so much to do and DS has been up half the night vomiting 😩. All over his bed so I was up until after 3 cleaning. I’ve got a full food shop to do, have to pick up a final click and collect present, the entire flat is a bombsite, no presents are wrapped, we’re supposed to have guests today and panto this evening 🤯. I’m a single parent so getting out to do half of this isn’t an option if DS is poorly 😭.

No pigs, Why?!?!?! 😱😱😱 Scandalous.

I ordered through their food to order, not as delivery, and I got everything I ordered including pigs. It's a good set up, but in the car park, so cold for the women doing it! They volunteer so they're not inside the manic store though!

Wreck, no idea re ETA. 🤷‍♀️

My garage fridge is heaving. Still got stuff to collect from the village. Could be fun...

Yes Fluffy I don't understand the pigs in blankets shortage either but there you go.

I have some more food from Iceland later as well. The plan is not to buy anything but bread/milk for the next week. Not sure about fitting it all in but it always comes together.

We collected our food to order this morning so we are all set :) DH has gone to collect DGFIL and DGMIL. I just need to make some mince pies (won’t take long as I made the pastry yesterday).

I've just played fridge Tetris. The 4kg turkey crown I ordered is a 6kg one 😂 it will feed us until Easter. I have pigs galore too.

Today will be cooking and a bit of cleaning and starting on the Christmas goodies b

We've now picked everything up and had 3 pints for DH's birthday. I need to get baking now!

We went out last night on the London Bus Lights Tour , sat on the upper deck . It was amazing . Lots of gorgeous lights that I don't usually get a good look at as if you try to stand still on a busy London street you'd get mowed down . Lots of information from the on board guide , things I knew nothing about even though I've lived in East London for over 30 years (and been on quite a few guided tours )

Traditional Takeaway on Christmas Eve Eve .
DD and I went to the local town (bus as the roads were heaving) for a potter about .
Washing the bedding (DS will wait till tomorrow)
Making a batch of Martha Stewart Chocolate Chip Cookies (for DS)

And DH was watching "Die Hard" when we got back so I saw Hans Grubers little surprised face as he "left the building"

Hope your DS is on the mend Messy its rough when they're ill at Christmas .

Yes, 70, we're a touch closer to Booths now! I went last night to pick our order up, as well as buying some coffee for DH for Christmas (I got him an Aeropress the other year, so he gets coffee as a present very regularly!).

We have lots and lots of cheese in the house now. We opened the Wookey Hole one when we got back earlier. 😋

The lights bus trip sounds ace. Something to consider doing another year.

Got to love watching Hans take a tumble.

I'm not going to steal the Countdown but as it is Officially Christmas EVE

I have washed bedding
Cleaned the oven and racks
Wrapped the presents
Cleaned the bathroom and downstairs loo
Took some things to the charity shop
Did our Christmas Donation to the Cats Protection ( where we got our gorgeous jet black moggies from)
Bought Lottery Scratch Cards as table gifts
And talked myself out of buying a hairdye kit online . I do have some of those wash-in dyes from Superdrug so I might give one a try tomorrow . I have a couple so it depends what mood I'm in.

Ate a delicious take away , DH has the leftovers for breakfast tomorrow .

Christmas Eve Lunch when DS gets back from the gym -not Sunday Dinner much to his disgust .
And wrestle the remote off DD and DH to stop them watching the next Walking Bleedin' Dead Follow Up and I can watch the Christmas Eve Ghost Story Lot No 249

Still bloody windy here!

Lots to do today, so I need to crack on. I'm doing Christmas dinner today, but also have some baking to do. Plus the dog needs a walk!

I am at work in the office today. Hoping it isn't too bad. Hopefully we can leave earlier 🤞I will sort the veg once I get home and my daughter still likes to look at the Christmas lights so we will do that once she is home from work.

70 when I was working in central london during covid, I took a lovely extended walk to the tube to enjoy the lights- it was magical.
We began our Christmas yesterday with nice food, fizz and Love Actually. Today I need to make (more) chilli jam and clean and tidy before Mass.

I baked a batch of cookies (made the dough yesterday ) they were bloody lush , crispy and chewy <Domestic Goddess Preen>

We're having our traditional vegetable grills /chicken for DS (he grumps about fish so I didn't buy it ) triple cooked chips and dips .
Then apple crumble

Then any last minute faffing about

Just about to go to bed. Merry Christmas all!

I went to bed obscenely early last night to read Christmas magazines and listen to LBC radio in peace (away from Fear the Walking Dead )

Sitting with coffee and my dinner plan (make sure nothing is missed out ) DH has fed the cats
DS and DD aren't awake yet , I've left their presents by their doors .

Kind of miss the days when they woke at 5am for their stockings .......
