Morning!

It's the final Rudolph Day of the year! A month today is the big day!

I'm sending DH off to his parents' house with the kids so I can wrap today. I usually fail to be Christmassy on Rudolph Days! 🤣

Our bins were definitely free when we bought a new build @CrazyBaubles. I think perhaps they are in Wales?

I assume @WreckTangled has to pay as it is a private prescription? I’m glad your daughter is doing well on them and it is a disgrace if her GP won’t take the prescription on!

This lurgy is refusing to shift, I must be well by Christmas!

Have a day of TV and cross stitch planned in the hope that rest will get rid of it.

Morning!

We are down to about 10 boxes to unpack now. Plus we have a sofa bed (which was lost, then found, by the courier) and new wardrobe for DS coming today (his room is small, so we've got one with 3 drawers coming).

Then it's just stuff like curtain poles to sort. Getting there.

Hope you feel better soon, Hoping!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 20/12/2023 08:25

Sounds exhausting fluffy! We only got our wardrobes last month 😅 I’m pleased they located the sofa bed.

Yes private prescription and off label medication which is consultant only prescribing regardless of indication anyway, unless GP agrees to take responsibility 🥴

I have so much housework and washing to sort. I’ve been really lazy this week, crazy is putting me to shame…

BiddyPop · 20/12/2023 11:51

Hopefully Christmas can start today. I had a mini-meltdown yesterday about life, and current chaos, and living from a suitcase. Moved everything to my office this morning from temp accom. Inspection visit on possible apartment went well earlier so should get lease tomorrow to review...and fingers crossed I can sort other paperwork remotely re the holidays...

Bought a small chocolatey log gateau to bring home tonight - fingers crossed it survives the plane ride! And I may find time to write my cards as I fly (traditional for me to do it that way - but never so late in December!!).

DH intends collecting me 🥰 from airport, if he's still in 1 piece after dd driving test (they're in Mullingar today, about 90 minutes from home).

Morning!

Bloody windy again today. I'm being driven to distraction by the extractor fan rattling in the wind in the en suite. #firstworldproblems The dog barks at the damn thing as well.

Did the cake get back in one piece, Biddy?

OP posts:
TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 21/12/2023 10:04

My extractor fan rattles too Fluffy. It's also set to "blow" instead of "suck" 😂

Family funeral today but I'm seeing a couple of my siblings so that's a bonus.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/12/2023 10:25

Sounds very functional, Buck. Not.

Sorry about the funeral. Is it up this way? Hope your journey is OK if so.

Sad news at the funeral Bucktooth

Hope everyones plans are coming together nicely .

I've got the Christmas Fridge now and bought some snazzy new roasting tins and oven trays (I know , the glamour of my life gobsmacks me too Xmas Grin )

London Bus tour tomorrow ,

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/12/2023 12:14

I need to do some wrapping but cleverly fell over last night (obviously onto my glasses) and have the blackest eye ever. I don't recommend doing that. Hoping it calms down a bit over night and now I can't be bothered to do anything.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/12/2023 12:18

Sorry about the funeral Buck.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/12/2023 17:59

Ouch whydoes Xmas Shock

I've wrapped DDs last presents and need to get DS his BWPFtC (Badly Wrapped Present From the Cats)

Might potter into town on Saturday , I think I have FOMO rather than wanting to buy anything . This morning only M&S and Sainsbury was open when we went in .

Lie in tomorrow and nice breakfast <hurrah>

Just getting ready for work and luckily I am at home today. Busily listing things left to do which isn't too much really.

WreckTangled · 22/12/2023 08:41

Hope you made it home ok Biddy!

Why how is your eye today?

Buck hope yesterday gave the person a lovely goodbye.

I’m taking the children to festive afternoon tea later I’m excited! Dh has his works meal so won’t be home but that’s fine as he’s annoying me anyway. Whenever the dc aren’t at school he seems to revert to not doing anything at all, apart from annoying dad. They’re really not getting on atm, I’m guessing that’s typical for teenage girls and their dad?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 22/12/2023 08:42

My eye looks horrific Wreck but it doesn't feel that bad. The bit scraped on the bathroom floor is a bit sore but really I don't hurt as much as you would think.

ConstantlyCooking · 22/12/2023 08:53

I hope your eye feels better soon why as and that you made it back home with your chocolate log intact Biddy.
I am picking up my Sainsbury’s and M&S food orders today. Then have a few bits to finish for work, presents to wrap and my final food shop. Then hopefully I can relax!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/12/2023 08:54

Morning!

I'm so tired. The dog was very twitchy overnight due to the wind rattling the extractor fan. Not good!

We have Sainsbury's coming later. Only one substitution, which was pork pies instead of cocktail sausages. Xmas Confused Can't believe they had no other cocktail sausages. No biggie though as we found some in the freezer.

It's also the dog's booster jab later. No doubt he will thank us for that. Not!

Why, how is the face?

Need to power through work today. First pay day since starting here today too, which was correct, thankfully!

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 22/12/2023 08:57

Fluffy the face looks horrific but doesn't feel as bad as you would expect to be honest.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/12/2023 09:25

I missed all the other messages about your face as I was typing very slowly! The new iOS update means autocorrect need a close eye keeping on them, as they're bonkers it's finally learned to autocorrect my swearing though!

OP posts:
BiddyPop · 22/12/2023 10:19

Oh Fluffy, I hope your face calms down for you.

I'm desperately reading a lease (in french!) to check details and agree it before things close... but need a break.

Yes, gateau lost its chocolate oak leaves decoration to the side but not broken so they could be stuck back in and the log itself still looked (and tasted!) fab! My skills for being calm and delicate must be improving!

Had to go into Dublin office yesterday for a couple of hours, which was nice to see a few, but lots were already finished. I need to go to the storage later for presents and start wrapping. We travel on Sunday so there's time yet. And no cards were written in the end - there's always next year.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/12/2023 13:31

I've iced the cake (only I eat it so I cut it in half and its a semi circle but I win because there's marizpan/icing on top/bottom and half a curcumferance Xmas Grin ) The other half can languish in the pantry till Easter ,

Made some crispy cakes for DS

It's amazing how much you buy and how quickly it gets eaten ! Four adults here so the Christmas Fridge is all systems go .
I'll need more soya milk but I can pick that up tomorrow

ConstantlyCooking · 22/12/2023 15:05

My Christmas fridge is now powered up and has my food orders in it. Started and Finished Christmas cards and posted them. One more thing to do for work.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 22/12/2023 20:00

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the funeral. It was a lovely tribute to my aunt and I had a great time catching up with my siblings and cousins

Why I hope your face heals quickly ouch

Crazy if you have left for your trip I wish you safe travels.

Biddy well done on keeping the gateau mostly intact and I hope you have a lovely time with your family. Did DD pass her driving test?

I've got a bit of food shopping to do tomorrow and a couple of presents to wrap and then I'm pretty much done.

WreckTangled · 23/12/2023 05:26

I'm up early to go to Sainsburys. Apparently the shelves were bare last night so hopefully they’ve restocked… I will def be having a soda nap later as I won’t up at 2:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep 🥱

WreckTangled · 23/12/2023 08:42

I keep seeing people wait ETA: at the end of a long post instead of TLDR: does anyone know what it means? It’s bugging me.

Sainsburys wasn’t too bad was home by 7:15. Got everything I wanted apart from frozen pain au chocolat, I wanted the Pret ones but couldn’t find them.

ConstantlyCooking · 23/12/2023 09:17

Well done Wreck. I need a trip to buy fresh food so am planning later today or tomorrow.
I just need to finish wrapping
