As the title says! I’m thinking particularly food stuff from the supermarkets.
For me it’s lidls mini stollen,
marks and Spencer’s clementines
marks and Spencer’s panettone

I love all the food items you only get at Christmas- if we had them year round they wouldn’t be so exciting!!

The lovely buttery biscuits M&S does in the gold tin.

ShowOfHands · 09/09/2023 09:04

Our local bakery's mince pies are perfect.

This might be the year I try M&S Very Merry Munch (if that's the right name). People on here rave about it and it sounds right up my street, but our local M&S never has it.

Aldi Stollen and home made rum egg nog!

I was pregnant last Christmas, in the middle of a house move, and had horrific morning sickness. I enjoyed a couple of piece of Stollen but by the time I could tuck in I’d been diagnosed with gestational diabetes 🤦‍♀️ extra excited for this year

Cheese wrapped in bacon from M&S, pork belly squares. Christmas coal from Fortnums. (Honeycomb covered in milk chocolate, then rolled in black lemonade sherbet powder).

rinseandrepeat1 · 09/09/2023 09:34

Fruit jelly slices

IGotThrillsTheyreMultiplying · 09/09/2023 09:38

Shortbread.

I could obviously eat it at any time but, if I buy a box, an hour later I have eaten a box.

So I just buy M&S tin if shortbread at Christmas where - in among other things - it lasts me a day or two Grin

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 09/09/2023 09:45

Danish biscuits which I only get at Xmas. Shortbread too. Those cheesey Xmas trees I think called Treeslits or something. Love them.

Beautifulsunflowers · 09/09/2023 11:22

I love a good mince pie too! The puff pastry ones from tescos are nice……..
I love baking and still make Christmas shaped biscuits even though the kids are 21 and 16! The mentions of shortbread reminded me!

The M&S Triple Chocolate panetonne. I know it's not authentic but bloody hell it's delicious.

Favouritefruits · 09/09/2023 15:52

Yes to panettone!

Svet19 · 09/09/2023 16:02

Brandy butter and mince pies

menopausalmare · 09/09/2023 16:13

I eat my body weight in cheese at Christmas. Cheese, crumpets, lurpak and a bit of chutney 👌

Gillstuck · 09/09/2023 16:15

Cooler weather?

crumblylancs · 09/09/2023 17:18

I discovered that I really liked mince pies last year so I'm definitely looking forward to them again (and buying multiple different packets to find the nicest!)

Also the twiglet tubs 😍

Cluckycluck · 09/09/2023 19:49

Bonci panbricone! It's bloody divine. I buy a big one every year and I never share with anyone.

doglikescheeseontoast · 09/09/2023 19:51

Lebkuchen and chocolate brazils.

TeenDivided · 09/09/2023 19:54

panettone

housethatbuiltme · 09/09/2023 20:13

Roast chestnut wreath... I would eat it all year round but they only make it at xmas and its hit and miss to find.

BriocheForBreakfast · 09/09/2023 20:15

Blinis with smoked salmon and crème fraiche with a lovely glass of fizz

TheChosenTwo · 09/09/2023 20:16

Not really any of it to be honest! I love Christmas but most of the traditional food is repulsive to me, you couldn’t pay me to eat stollen, mince pies, anything with dried fruit, nuts in general either. Turkey is grim, cranberry jelly can do one and anything with clementine can get straight in the bin 😂

There's things I only buy at Christmas and theyre being added to my Christmas List book :

Panatonne but not the fruit one or chocolate chip . Last year I got 4x mini ones from TKMaxx individually wrapped . I'm the only one who eats them / I do like the lemon ones but can't find them so I add lemon curd
Waitrose Lemon Curd is the nicest I;ve found (No 1 Lucious Lemon Curd)
Sainsbury Taste the Difference Blood Orange Curd or Clementine ( depending on what they do)
Niederegger Marzipan Chocolate = I eat very little chocolate having weaned myself off it . Only Birthday/Christmas/Easter / so it has to be worth it
Sainsbury Shortcrust Bakery Mince Pies
M&S biscuit curls
Box/Tin of Family Circle biscuits
Tin of shortbread (Sainsbury or M&S) with the tartan tin and the Judgey Looking Stag . Last year M&S did one that looked suspiciodly like a Highland Cow !
One visit to Costa/Starbuck whichever has the nicest sounding Festive Drinks

I'm going to throw Christmas Cake in the mix but I made one last year ( homemade marzipan and royal icing) and as only I ate it , it sat about for weeks . I used to take some to my parents but my Dads no longer with us and I think it would have very adverse affects on my Mum . Shop cake just isn't as nice though .
