As the title says! I’m thinking particularly food stuff from the supermarkets.
For me it’s lidls mini stollen,
marks and Spencer’s clementines
marks and Spencer’s panettone

I love all the food items you only get at Christmas- if we had them year round they wouldn’t be so exciting!!

Lidl used to have freeze dried sour cherries covered in dark chocolate. Not sure if it's something they stock every year as our nearest branch is a bit of a trek. I'd make a trip just to stock up if they were back.

Littlegoth · 16/09/2023 10:59

@BeastOfBODMAS I've never had a pigs in blankets sandwich with sage and onion bread, but that’s about to change!

Black garlic butter - its like a pate nearly! From local producer.
Local salami with fennel
M&S cherries in kirsch
My mums plum pudding - a small one as only I eat, and...
A huge bowl of brandy butter I eat with it and anything else I can get away with putting it on.
We buy two big wagyu steaks for some night over Christmas
Bendicks Mint Collection

Oysterbabe · 16/09/2023 14:24

A cheeseboard with cured meats and chutney is just the best food in the world.

Roystonv · 16/09/2023 14:33

Cheesy Footballs, already found some and they are hidden away.

Yes to the Bendicks! I've tried a couple of other mint assortments, but they don't come anywhere near.

ChimpyChops · 16/09/2023 19:28

A local bakery do Fat Santas which are baguettes stuffed with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, sprouts and a few other things. I'm trying that this year!

My Christmas morning chocolate orange.

Aldi ... I can't remember the name - but you've all mentioned them.

Baileys. Copious Baileys while wrapping presents.

Malteser reindeers.

Mulled wine.

ChimpyChops · 16/09/2023 19:29

Stollen - that's it!

I've also never had a Tofifee!

Goldenphoenix · 17/09/2023 12:22

Really nice homemade Christmas ham covered with honey, mustard and cloves. We have it in thick slabs with fried eggs and bread and butter. Delicious.

Pork belly bites from M&S, I wait all year for them to be back on the shelves!

Quality Street because I heard they are bringing back coffee creams and I have been lamenting their loss for years now.

Turkish delight.

Lebkuchen.

MorrisZapp · 17/09/2023 12:25

Is this true re coffee creams? If so, total game changer.

MorrisZapp · 17/09/2023 12:27

My work do is 'fine dining' and is often amazing. Few tragic misfires though, last year's venison three ways was barely edible. The seafood starters are always fabulous.

Thank god for the unlimited mini mince pies to top up on.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 17/09/2023 12:29

Festive bakewells for me too (I dislike the cherry on a standard bakewell).

Twiglets in a tub.

Terrys Chocolate Mint. I've just had one to try and they are delicious, I shall be stockpiling.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2023 13:50

Pistachio nuts - I bloody love them but they make my fingers sore opening them and they are really high in fat . So Christmas is a good time to eat them .

Are they smooth or got crispy bits ?.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 17/09/2023 14:08

Sainsburys pigs in blankets pate.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 17/09/2023 14:19

Not buying but making - last year I made a Xmas dinner leftovers pie. Chicken stuffing sausagemeat sausages and some bits of roast root vegetables in a white sauce (thyme in it maybe) with some pre rolled puff pastry on top - was lovely.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2023 14:25

That sounds amazing, @Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky. 😋

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2023 16:29

ChristmasCwtch · 12/09/2023 21:36

@ShowOfHands I just saw M&S have a jelly munch this year too 😆 £1 increase on the price!!

Is that in store now @ChristmasCwtch ?!

ChristmasCwtch · 17/09/2023 16:39

@ShowOfHands yup, I saw it last week

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2023 17:02

I'll try my two local stores and keep everything crossed. No luck previously.

Hubblebubble · 17/09/2023 17:05

A hot cup of mulled wine on a cold evening at the Christmas market
