As the title says! I’m thinking particularly food stuff from the supermarkets.
For me it’s lidls mini stollen,
marks and Spencer’s clementines
marks and Spencer’s panettone

I love all the food items you only get at Christmas- if we had them year round they wouldn’t be so exciting!!

Aldi mini Florentines

ToughFuss · 09/09/2023 22:29

Literally clicked on this thread to say Lidls mini stollen 😂 top tier snack!

I don't know if they still exist but those Thornton mint creams in the green foil with the crispy but . Used to be DoubleCream Mints

Mindovermatter247 · 09/09/2023 22:49

Festive Bakewells I went through boxes and boxes last year…
I love the party foods… from M&S

Gingerkittykat · 09/09/2023 23:04

@housethatbuiltme where is that from please?

We ge it from Asda but I have heard other supermakets do similar ones, its usually so hit and miss to find though here.

Last year I thought they discontinued it but then 1 randomly showed up.

Aldi mini Florentines

Yes! I discovered them a couple of years ago, and can't do without them. Also, Starbucks Gingerbread Lattes. It's not Christmas until I've had one (at least) of those.

CauliflowerBouquet · 10/09/2023 10:33

All the cheese and pate. I save up and spend too much money on lovely cheeses, I look forward to it all year.

The delicious roast dinner that I will cook - nothing fancy but I love doing it.

Hot chocolate stirrers on Christmas Eve.

Home made sausage rolls on boxing day.

FourLittleStars · 10/09/2023 19:52

Aldi Florentines are God's own food.

We get a box of chocolate covered dates from 'The Datery'. They. Are. Immense.

Cheese. All the cheese.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/09/2023 21:16

I ordered some of our cheese yesterday from the cheese shop in the village. 🧀🧀🧀🧀 I'll order more from Booths too. Plus we get Brie, Shropshire Blue and Stilton from Aldi. We love cheese!

Iaspo · 10/09/2023 21:19

The mini mince pies from M and S. I kid myself I’m being good for not getting the normal size ones 😂 As luck would have it I’m the only one here who likes them so they’re all miiiiiine…..

Lorrymum · 11/09/2023 11:28

Our local Markies already stocked with Christmas cake and puddings. Lots of choccies too.

sittingonacornflake · 11/09/2023 13:19

@housethatbuiltme thank you I'm going to look out for that!

Beautifulsunflowers · 11/09/2023 13:28

I'd really like a mince pie after reading this thread

girlmeetsboy · 11/09/2023 17:10

Having smoked salmon on blinis with a bit of soured cream mixed with horseradish and topped with caviar and dill every day for brunch over the Christmas period!

BangingOn · 11/09/2023 17:29

Thomas Fudge Florentines (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, salted caramel or all of the above)

Artisan Du Chocolat salted caramels, available all year round but they are always my Christmas treat from me to me

Too much cheese, plus Membrillo to eat with the manchego

Ohhh . I'm going to do a cake tasting session from now until I'm sick of the sight of cake .

I bought some slices a few years back (I think Sainsbury) they were "ok" . So if I try all the readily available small cakes , just the ones marzipanned and iced on the top , I'll have a winner by November Grin
I can try Waitrose ones in the JL cafe

Hibernatalie · 11/09/2023 18:36

M&S chicken liver parfait and Irish cream liqueur chocolates
My homemade sausage roll wreath and pigs in blankets
Cheese and salami from Borough market
Sainsbury's cherry and Prosecco chutney with cold turkey

Following with interest

Booths put on Facebook that theirs are now in stock. I make my own, and I'm not at that point just yet! 🤣

SunnieShine · 11/09/2023 18:38

Tubs of Cheeselets. Or, as they are known at Christmas, TREESlets 🎄
