As the title says! I’m thinking particularly food stuff from the supermarkets.
For me it’s lidls mini stollen,
marks and Spencer’s clementines
marks and Spencer’s panettone

I love all the food items you only get at Christmas- if we had them year round they wouldn’t be so exciting!!

Smoked salmon & creamcheese bagels with a glass ( or 3!) of fizz for breakfast
Another vote for allsorts of posh cheeses with crackers
Really good boxed chocolates
Mince pies made with shortcrust not puff pastry, warmed & served with a generous dollop of clotted cream mmmmm
Sandwiches on Christmas night with cold turkey, stuffing, breadsauce & cranberry sauce.
Quality wines
Baileys
Aldi or Lidl mini stollen
My Mum’s Dundee cake if she’s still fit enough to make it
Chocolate coins are an absolute necessity!
M & S biscuits covered in various chocolate. They are so good & usually on offer.
Cold roast veg with mayo

Tubs of Cheeselets. Or, as they are known at Christmas, TREESlets 🎄

Treeslets are cheesier than cheeselets on account of their Christmas tree shape.

This is a scientific fact.

Lebkuchen and chocolate brazils.

Chocolate brazils for me too, too expensive to have usually but always have some Christmas Eve, yum!

A chocolate orange
Espresso martinis
Merry Munch
Maple Pretzels

Megamopyeah · 11/09/2023 18:50

Rum balls

Rum balls

Same to you 😛

BunnyBerries · 11/09/2023 19:17

Apparently Cadbury's are bringing back their chocolate coins this Christmas after a decade.
Anyone else remember getting a net of those big silver and gold coins in their stocking? Smile

Rum balls

I love rum balls. I can't believe the amount of people I know who don't know what they are. Heathens

That Fortnum's coal sounds amazing!

gravitytester · 11/09/2023 19:39

I accidentally smashed through a whole bag of snowballs the other day (after complaining about Christmas stock in shops 🤣).

WorseDecision · 11/09/2023 19:40

Twiglets & a cheese board. Smile

Not really a chocolatey person!

Nanalisa60 · 11/09/2023 19:49

I’m with you on Lidl’s mini stollen, they are just so good ,
dont like the Aldis mini stollen.

Leftittothelastminute · 11/09/2023 20:06

Nothing to add...... but I'm starting my shopping list from these suggestions!

NoTeaNoShade · 11/09/2023 20:15

Judgey looking Stag 😂

I only buy Cadburys milk chocolate fingers at Christmas time because one in = all in. Zero self control and I rarely eat chocolate or biscuits, so who knows why this combo is so appealing.

I also like a homemade mince pie, partial to a glass of Baileys (again, only time of year I drink it) and I treat myself to a case of my favourite champagne to sip throughout the season. Cheers!

Sadly cadburys chocolate ain’t what it used to be since they went chasing the money!! Plus the slavery thing).

Used to love chocolate coins though!

persisted · 11/09/2023 20:34

All the lebkuchen for me please.

They had it in Lidl on Saturday morning, hottest day of the year 😆

I am definitely not allowed any until December. Absolutely not going to buy a bag to take for snack stash when I go away for work tomorrow....

Maraudingmarauders · 11/09/2023 20:38

Port and dessert wine. And brandy. I've been pregnant since Christmas (well, about then, 40 weeks now) so I cannot wait to be able to enjoy some good quality booze. With mince pies and blue cheese. Not in big amounts, but just enjoy the flavours.

Roast chestnut wreath... I would eat it all year round but they only make it at xmas and its hit and miss to find.

where do you get this from? I love chestnuts

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 11/09/2023 20:42

Stollen and panettone

I said on the "Carb appreciation" thread that I love bread, and these are very good examples of bread.

I grew up in the Netherlands for a while. Much prefer stollen to Christmas fruitcake.

MrsMitford3 · 11/09/2023 20:44

Also just come on to say Baileys.

I have banned myself from buying it for the rest of the year but during the Christmas season I drink it from a mug love it

mogtheexcellent · 11/09/2023 20:52

Tesco florentines. Yum. And no bloody raisins or sultanas.

Oysterbabe · 11/09/2023 21:56

Mulled wine.
Coffee with a splash of baileys and a mince pie.

ConstantlyCooking · 11/09/2023 22:16

Sugared almonds, posh Turkish delight from Waitrose, mince pies ... many, many things!
