Christmas Bargain Thread 1 - the one where my dad is 17

Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

My DD6 wants a Bitzee. Does anyone know if they're any good/ worth it? Have you ever seen them for less than £30? Thanks.

My other half has mentioned these. Amazon have a £5 off £25 spend today with code AmazonUK25 which would bring it down if it's sold by Amazon.

Clucket87 · 15/09/2023 20:12

@WimbyAce you are an angel! I kept on getting the code wrong when I typed it in!

Scout2016 · 15/09/2023 20:19

Holland and Barratt has a sale on, and 15% extra if you spend £30.
A couple of years back on these threads they had a ridiculously bargainous beauty box which I split. My mum loved the kiwi eye cream I stuck in her cracker, which it turned out is normally £30 something. Thankfully it's in the sale...I have learnt there's a danger in these boxes - someone falling for something expensive and asking for it again and again!

Haha that's OK! I can't find enough stuff I am certain I want to buy so not sure I will use it myself.

Blessedbethefruitz · 15/09/2023 20:34

Amazon people, is there a section of stuff the AMAZONUK25 code works for?! I'm not seeing it advertised on my app!

Hi just been looking at this on the Boots website. Don’t know if they’re any good but it’s £29.50, not much under £30 but there is a code BABYSEPT10 which takes 10% off if you can find something to increase your order to £30. I think the code only works on baby/kids stuff.

It wasn't advertised on mine but I have been able to use it. Has to be things sold and delivered by Amazon I believe

Would anyone have the Gruum offer to hand? I'm losing the will to live searching back through the threads!

Also huge thanks for the Naked Marshmallows heads-up, mine are (finally!) with the courier!

I saw the Amazon thing on hot deals. Says it's for 1st 10,000 but must be sold by Amazon.

flumposie · 15/09/2023 21:06

Thank you whoever shared the bargains at Valennte. I love one of their fragrances and have just got 3 products and free candle at a great price.

Thanks to whoever mentioned the little drawing tablets in a previous thread. I bought a pack of 2 for my girls for holiday and they were brilliant! Got lots of use.

Which little tablets were those?

HeyBearKeepsMeSane · 15/09/2023 22:01

Usually underwhelmed by the Argos toy sales but this one is pretty good! Loads of wooden kitchen toys in 2 for £15 and some playdoh, squishmallows and lego in 2 for £20 - literally all sorts!

WetFlump · 15/09/2023 22:02

stocking filler!
disney princess search and find colouring book, £1 !

Someone was after a puzzle roll? Argos has one with 1000 piece jigsaw for £6.74

Sallylovesdaisy · 15/09/2023 22:37

Had an email from Glossybox saying that the boxes have gone down to £5 again..followed the link and they're still £10 🤷‍♀️

lemonsmum · 15/09/2023 22:50

@Blessedbethefruitz I've just used the Amazon code and worked on things I already had in my basket that were sold and dispatched by amazon

Blessedbethefruitz · 15/09/2023 23:02

@lemonsmum it's only working on mario lego for me which camelcamelcamel says was cheaper in May 😬 I'll keep browsing but ds appears to have tonsillitis again...

ColeslawSandwich · 15/09/2023 23:19

@Vebrithien I’m not disappointed at all, love the soaps. 😊

GoodbyeErinsborough · 16/09/2023 00:15

Dee1224 · 15/09/2023 00:19

@GoodbyeErinsborough - Glossybox have, very cheekily - doubled the price of their Outlet mystery boxes from £5 to £10 and the two bundle from £9 to £20. They have also increased the price of the Grazia bundle from £15 to £30.

No doubt they have done it because of the increased purchases created by the FB post and threads like this, but I think it’s disgraceful of them.

I almost bought the Grazia box yesterday when it was £15, but I am glad I didn’t give them any money now!

Thanks Dee!
I did wonder if that had been the case. Glad I never have them any money now!

Threeboysadogandacat · 16/09/2023 00:41

@HeartshapedFox I’ve found the Saltrock sizes pretty accurate. I’ve bought the adult one for ds3 who’s a not very tall 17 year old. As they are unisex they may be fine for an 11 year old if they are quite tall.

Roughasabadgersbum · 16/09/2023 07:50

Etsy has £5 off everything right now. I had an email this morning.

Thank you to the poster who put on about Dunelm and Harry potter. My son (10) is just getting into it now so lots of bits and bobs .
Thank you all again
