Reastie · 07/09/2023 16:09

Thanks @snowmanshoes for the title!

Hello everyone, so nice to see you all. Pull up a chair, have a mince pie and a peppermint latte and share your Christmas bargains and ideas. In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

A massive thank you to those who have contributed and/or run the prequel threads this year. I can't believe it's another year! I started these when DD was a baby and she's just gone into Year 8!

@WhyDoesItAlways me too! 😂

Athlebad · 18/09/2023 09:42

Thanks @Hickry , @SootspriteSearcher and @Theraffarian
Yes, I'd got the two sites mixed up! 😁 I bought DS a Dunelm teddy fleece oversize hoodie last year and it's lovely but teddy fleece doesn't seem to wash well and is like velcro with whatever little bits it touches.
I was after something warm and snuggly feeling for the cold house in the winter that will wash well. I'll have a look on the 5poundsstuff site...

Athlebad · 18/09/2023 09:51

Just had a look at the Tesco toy sale, there's some Lego on there at 40% off! e.g. Lego Minecraft set

Unfortunately not what DS is after, but might be good for someone else on here...

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 18/09/2023 09:56

Discounts on some premium brands at allbeauty.com and an extra 5% off today with code FALL (although I think they may also offer 10% off if you sign up to the newsletter)

15% off everything with code 15BDAY at tinyme - personalised kids and baby gifts

We have a Ninja air fryer already @Dreamingofwalden but I'm very tempted to buy another on Black Friday, having two would be really handy!

Just a heads up about that doll- we've had it now for a year or so and although it's marketed as being bath-able, it fills up with water and it's really hard to get it all out. You have to remove the arms and legs and squeeze it out and even then you can hear water inside. That said, my daughter does love it.

TheGriffle · 18/09/2023 10:20

I’ve got some deliveries due today, my 4 £5 Glossy boxes, Squidgems advent calendars from The Works and I’ve just picked up my buy one get one free LOL’s from Smyths. Thank you for all the suggestions everyone.

VerbenaGirl · 18/09/2023 07:52

We have two pickle baubles! It’s a traditional German thing and my DB lives there and so gave them to us. They get ‘hidden’ on the tree when it’s all been decorated and the first of the children to find them wins. A bit bonkers, but quite good fun.

We also have one and my husband HATES it so obviously I love it 😂

gawditswindy · 18/09/2023 10:57

My fossil order seems to be stuck. Dispatched last Wednesday but apparently still not received by Royal Mail. Anyone else? It's sunglasses, for me, so I've got around 6 months till I'll actually need them, but I'm a little concerned.

Squ1ggle · 18/09/2023 11:13

I think they ship from outside the UK so I wouldn't worry just yet, mine took a few days too

WhyDoesItAlways · 18/09/2023 11:17

Just seen prime day is going to be 10th to 11th October. Could be good for those who need stuff before black Friday. I suspect it will be the usual discounts we see year after year.

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/09/2023 12:00

I’m thinking of getting a ‘treat box’ for my sister and sister-in-law… they have 10% off first order which brings the 10 item one down to £33.50ish which is in budget, but I was wondering if anyone knew of the use-by dates of the food items!

you can curate your own box, so I can make it personal to them which sounds quite nice

ColeslawSandwich · 18/09/2023 12:13

@TheGirlWhoLived which company is that from?

DuchessOfWonderland · 18/09/2023 12:38

MerylSqueak · 17/09/2023 22:49

I've heard bad things about Next sofas from friends too.

Does anyone know anything about Ninja? My dd has asked for a Ninja Creami which is way out of budget at £200. I've told her it's out of the question but of course i am now wondering if there's some little Christmas miracle I can pull off with your help. Do they have a good Black Friday sale or anything like that?

Not impressed by Ninja. We acquired a full blender set and got rid of it soon. One of the little plastic clip that's meant to lock on is very flimsy and breaks easily. If it breaks,bye-bye to the whole jug and attachments and buy a whole new set of jug+attachments. You can't use it with 2 or 3 locks in place and can't easily buy just the jug (depending on model number)

DuchessOfWonderland · 18/09/2023 12:40

Does anyone know when M&S will start their sale?

Oh no! That's a whole new level if probl. Thanks for the heads up.

MerylSqueak · 18/09/2023 12:54

Gah! Of problem

I hate my new phone

Flubadubba · 18/09/2023 12:57

@Reastie at this rate we will need a new thread later today!

TheGriffle · 18/09/2023 13:09

Anyone who bought the bundle mystery boxes from Glossy box can you confirm which boxes you got? I bought the Timeless treats box separately for £7 as well and have ended up with another in the mystery boxes. Rather annoyed when the mystery boxes were £9 for 2.

Hickry · 18/09/2023 13:46

"Theraffarian · Yesterday 07:47

@Hickry @Athlebad i think you might be talking about different sites . Onlinehomeshop sells the ones like sienna that you can get on Amazon, Debenhams etc . 5poundstuff Here sold the ones that people thought may have been oodie seconds. I didn’t buy so can’t confirm."

Ooh yes. You are right! It WAS 5Poundstuff that I ordered mine from!! 🤦🤦🤦

PlanBea · 18/09/2023 14:02

@TheGriffle I only got mystery box 4 and I got the tin with the pixie toner etc. Pretty pleased as that was the one that looked best for me!

ThreeRingCircus · 18/09/2023 14:06

For any Disney fans, my local Aldi today had Lion King, Little Mermaid and Mickey Mouse themed cupcake/biscuit baking kits all in date til April 2024. I bought some for DDs as stocking fillers so thought I'd share in case it's of use to anyone else.

They also had Peppa Pig colouring books for 99p and Peppa, Cocomelon and Blippi themed water bottles.

whoknows1230 · 18/09/2023 14:07

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but LOL dolls are BOGOF at Smyths at the moment.

Does anyone have a student discount code for Dunelm please? They offer 10% off to students and I'm spending £800 so hoping I can a little bit!

shash1982 · 18/09/2023 14:34

My glossy boxes arrived today, thank you to the op! 😊

If anyone is looking at getting a velvetiser from hotel chocolate, it's free to join their VIP club which give you £30 off the velvetiser then another 15% on your second order.

jamrolypolyandcustard · 18/09/2023 14:53

@Talisin

Apologies for popping this on here, I've just booked a holiday for next month and want to know if something in particular will be going in the sale.

Are you able to check for me please?
