10 - only 2 of us for Christmas, so just a fancy roast dinner for us, with a few extra trimmings. House cleaned, pressies wrapped, off to friends later, so tomorrow just the sausage rolls to make (custom from childhood), which has to happen on late Christmas Eve, find a film to watch and chill.

Spare beds and rooms sorted now.

Extra gifts bought and DD is wrapping them as I type.

Just need to remake my bed & blind bake a tart case.

I’ve done bugger all except internet shopping for DH. I haven’t even opened the bags and boxes to make sure it’s all there. So I need to find them all (because I didn’t stash them all in one place, that would have been far too simple!), wrap them all, scrub the kitchen and bathroom, change the bed linen, tidy everywhere else, assemble one of those red and yellow children’s cars, wrap that, iron a name onto a Christmas sack, put out all of the Christmas sweets and finish decorating. And I can’t be bothered to do any of it!

DH is off out shortly to collect the turkey, shop for fresh stuff and bring a takeaway home. He’s already bought everything else we could conceivably want to eat or drink, wrapped everyone’s presents, made pigs and stuffing, done menus and done a shop for my mum. He’ll also be making sausage rolls tomorrow.

So a strong 4.5 but only because of DH.

@Santamajormummy000
Thanks so much for this, it hadn’t occurred to me to do the veg and potatoes whilst the meat was resting! That makes the timings feel a lot less intimidating. I will whip up some soup today (it’s only 12.30 here in the great white north so plenty of time) and get the OH to prep all the veg with me tomorrow.
We have bought ducks which feels fairly terrifying (husbands request) but I do have a joint of beef so I could perhaps chuck that in the slow cooker as a back up?! Might also buy a meat thermometer today to help assure me everything is done.

About a 7 I guess - have to do a final shop tomorrow, decorate cookies, clean bathrooms, bit of wrapping, and finish one last bit of baking. We had to panic buy some tree lights on Amazon yesterday that are delivering tomorrow so yeah, add decorate tree to the list. But its all very manageable and dinner is already done. By 5pm Im calling it quits and putting my feet up with a drink!

Is your husband called Kevin? Xmas Grin

I suppose I'm a bout an 8. One more (Unexpected) load of washing and drying to do tomorrow. Pop to the corner shop for a few bits. Get out all the chocolate coins and selection boxes ready.

BiddyPop · 24/12/2022 09:44

Inching upwards this morning. Have arrived at DMIL's safely with enough clothes and presents to get us through. And some gin.

Have bought what's needed for tomorrow's starter and dessert. But I need to make the chocolate biscuit cake today and fruit salad either later today or tomorrow morning.

Still some wrapping to do, but have something everyone we'll see here. Need to get 5 more things between now and getting back home.

So today involves coffee, decent shower, making a mess with melted choc, bringing Dd to buy shower gel (probably chemist not supermarket), and seeing my family for a bbq lunch.

BiddyPop · 24/12/2022 09:44

But I suspect I won't get a chance to play some nice classical and choral Christmas music, the realities of Christmas when visiting others.

MrsTulip · 24/12/2022 10:37

Nearer an 8 at the moment, just the living room to tidy and hoover (its not too bad mainly dry laundry to take of the airer and put away), washer load with bed sheets in has just finished so will put bedding on the airer now and re make beds later this afternoon when dry, then a quick run round upstairs with the hoover

ilovesushi · 24/12/2022 10:38

I've increased from a 4 to a 7. Feeling confident I'll be a 9 by this evening. Not even aiming for a 10.

SeaToSki · 24/12/2022 11:08

Im a 9.5 because everything is done and my giests have arrived despite the bomb cyclone (in the US) … except one gift that was being delivered got stuck in the bad weather and isnt going to arrive now…so I need to make a gift card for it instead.

Ihavedogs · 24/12/2022 13:49

Other than a last minute run round with the vacuum, all is now done. If it wasn’t for the dogs, that would have already been done.

RaininSummer · 24/12/2022 13:54

9.8. Just made starter and dessert. Delegating gravy and turkey. Need to do some beds.
