Today I got the food and drink delivery, put it all away and went and bought the last of the presents, which are now all wrapped. The stockings are filled and ready to be hung up tomorrow night. All the housework is done. Only thing left to do is pick up the turkey from the butchers in the morning and then we're ready. Dh breaks up from work in a little over an hour and the children are finishing tidying their rooms. So then it's just family board game night tonight followed by santa clause the movie with pizza.

So we are 9 now. 10 tomorrow.

PeonyRose80 · 22/12/2022 15:53
  1. Just need to tidy up, quick dust and hoover, sort tablecloth and pick up M&S order
NoNamesLeft234678 · 22/12/2022 15:55

I only have a few more presents to wrap (plus presents from dp to his family as he's pretty much allergic to wrapping 🤷‍♀️🙈) so I'm a 9 in that kind of readyness but I'm not feeling too well so that takes it down to a 6/7 especially with people to visit on Christmas morning 😬

lovemelovemesaythatyouloveme · 22/12/2022 15:56

About a 6.

popandchoc · 22/12/2022 15:59

Probably an 8. Nearly finished work . Got one present to wrap .
Cleaning house and getting petrol tomorrow , then will be ready.

PinkFrenchie · 22/12/2022 16:04

1 - I'm not at all prepared but I'm also not stressed about it. Christmas is very casual/low key in our house, not to much to do to get prepared!

lightand · 22/12/2022 16:05

People coming tonight
I cant be doing with fussing any more.

Shecrazy · 22/12/2022 16:06

@caringcarer
So pleased you've found a solution Xmas Smile

fingers crossed all goes well and you have a stress free happy Christmas x

lightand · 22/12/2022 16:06

Should perhaps say I started earlier this year due to knowing I would lose a couple of weeks along the way.
Been a right boon. Made it easier all along the way.

SaveMeCheezus · 22/12/2022 16:09

9 physically; will be a 10 tonight when I've had a whip round with the hoover, cleaned the bathroom and done my nails!

9 mentally; will be a 10 tomorrow at 12 when I knock off from work!

Wakeywake · 22/12/2022 16:14

You can get your son to drive to yours, he can pick up MIL on his way, or he can drive you to MIL on boxing day.

Ragwort · 22/12/2022 16:14

9 - we are going to family lunch time Christmas Eve (when I finish work) so very little to do this year and we have agreed a 'no present rule' which saves a lot of effort. All I have to do is make the brandy butter I promised to take and pack. Smile.

Daisy38 · 22/12/2022 16:21

Around an 8. House still needs to be cleaned and need to get a handful of things from the supermarket. Will get the shopping tonight and we’ll do the house tomorrow so should make Christmas Eve fairly easy!

  1. Panicking and yet still procrastinating -in the pub with dh and trying to persuade him into another gin before we set to
illiterato · 22/12/2022 16:25

Hmm… so I’m a 9 as for once I was really organised early because we’re skiing this week BUT there are a few critical bits of the jigsaw that need doing on Christmas Eve. If they go tits up or we’re still in the immigration queue coz of the strikes then I might get demoted to a 3.

TheFairyCaravan · 22/12/2022 16:32

A 10.

I made all the mince pies last week and froze them. 3 Christmas cakes are iced and decorated, presents wrapped and under the tree, food shop is done, DS2’s birthday cake, for Christmas Eve,is done. House is clean and tidy and all the laundry is done. DS2 and DDIL are here until Christmas Eve when they go home because they have work (nurses) on Christmas Day.

The only spanner in the works was DS1 came down with proper flu last week, back in his army barracks, and was too ill to drive anywhere or get food etc. So we drove up there yesterday and picked him up (dh bought his car back), he’s hunkered down in the spare room, and I did all his washing for him yesterday. He was supposed to be at his girlfriend’s this week and coming here Christmas Eve, but things change don’t they?

frozendaisy · 22/12/2022 16:44

-145 but gone past caring

ancientgran · 22/12/2022 16:49

All my presents are done and wrapped, all the Christmas visits done, the biggie is the bin men have been today it is "big" collection week when they collect the 4 different lots of recycling plus the go to landfill bin and it is all gone, off to the hairdresser in a few minutes, Sainsbury's order due tomorrow (fingers crossed) so as long as Sainsbury's don't let me down I'm pretty well done.

9.5
Everything bought and done ✅
If Christmas was tomorrow we would be fine but I would like to just do a bit more of a deep clean and then it would be 10

AlwaysLatte · 22/12/2022 16:54

Well I've bought everything, fridge is stocked, nothing more to buy at all. Presents all wrapped but I've got to write the gift tags. Made the ham, Christmas cake, cranberry sauce and hard sauce. Making the bread sauce with DS2 and gravy with DS1 tonight. Need to give the guest room a good clean and new bedding tomorrow, but otherwise I'm more ahead than usual!

Bouledeneige · 22/12/2022 16:55
  1. Sone most of my wrapping and just need to make a pudding on Christmas Eve to take to my sister's. Hoping a wine order comes tomorrow.
HollyBollyBooBoo · 22/12/2022 16:55

9.5, just need to make the guest beds tomorrow, wrap one last present and we're done. Thank God I booked today off work and DD has been helpful!
