Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

@mam0918 please learn to correct context for literally before injecting in into an argument.

FestivePinkFairy · 13/12/2022 17:18

I'm still waiting for a delivery from Accessorize ordered at the end of November. No dispatch email and customer services have been useless and are now ignoring me. Even tweeting them has done nothing. I will be instigating a chargeback if I don't get a response tomorrow.

SnowJamz · 13/12/2022 17:27

@FestivePinkFairy I ordered from Accessorize recently and it took ages for them to email to say it had been dispatched. I kept chasing it up. Then on the dispatch email it only had some of the items. Later in the day they sent another email to say that some of the items were now out of stock and had been cancelled. Useless.

FluffyScarves · 13/12/2022 19:43

Ordered a coat from seasalt online on 1st Dec. Still not here. Tracking by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Still stuck in Plymouth depot. Hey ho!
In other news, all items from Amazon delivered just a day later. Utter legends! I literally applauded the guy for braving our hilly road! Good luck everyone 🙏

panko · 13/12/2022 20:22

Oh just realised I've got an ebay order and it's not updated since it was posted at the post office. I usually get an update when it's at the mail centre. Hoping its left the post office at this was 3 weeks ago

Roominmyhouse · 13/12/2022 20:52

I gave up on my Amazon seller package that was apparently sent via RM on 28/11. The tracking ID still doesn’t update so I’ve requested a refund. It’s crap for the seller but it’s not even showing as being stuck in a depot so I have no faith it would have turned up!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/12/2022 22:44

My RM parcel turned up today - ordered on 28th November and disappeared until it turned up at a national depot yesterday and delivered today.

also got another non Christmas delivery from Evri today - only ordered from Wiggle on Monday.

don’t give up hope people!

DuchessOfDisco · 13/12/2022 22:59

I run a small business selling gift boxes but I’m still waiting on stock being delivered that I ordered in November. I really need them to arrive this week so I can get the boxes to my customers by Christmas. It’s just a nightmare right now.
personally though, my Amazon parcel that was meant to arrive yesterday had been delayed but I put that down to the snow.

DuchessOfDisco · 13/12/2022 23:11

Oh I just want to add that I do support Royal Mail workers striking, but I did sit there earlier and think ffs RM just give the unions what they demand so we can all just move on now. This stalemate is helping no one

panko · 14/12/2022 07:00

Posted a letter yesterday by special delivery before 1pm or whatever its called. Very expensive but I've just had a notification on the tracking app that it's been delivered. This was for a government body though.

Yes I have things slowly making their way from one mail centre to another

Thank you. It's only a small thing for DD (£11) but I'm so annoyed that they are so spectacularly useless. I've now got a WhatsApp chat on the go. I'm not holding out much hope though and will probably have to buy the much more expensive alternative from Oliver Bonas instead.

What’s even worse is getting email notifications that somebody tried to deliver but the ‘addressee’ wasn’t available?!? Erm YES I WAS - really angry at the lies on that one when I was in all day and they just be arsed ..

I agree just be honest about it if you can't deliver that day
Don't blame the customer.

snowmanshoes · 14/12/2022 08:39

Exactly because I can’t even track it now and nobody answers emails so I now don’t know if it’s just lost in limbo land or will arrive next week.

desperatehousewife21 · 14/12/2022 08:50

Got absolutely no post yesterday and my tracking didn’t update either. Now 2 days of strikes so nothing will be moving again.

That gives us from Friday - next thur for everything to arrive before the next strike on 23/24. If parcels still not arrived by 22nd then can forget it.

pechecreme · 13/12/2022 17:09

@mam0918 I don't know if you are really this thick that it needs explaining again but the wages and rights of everyone striking ARE NOT GUARANTEED !!! That is why they are striking!!! You're an absolute idiot if you think they just want a bit more money. Why should everyone lie down and be walked over and companies destroyed by big bosses just because someone else has it harder? Self employed people CHOOSE to be self employed. They can also choose to have a back up plan in place if something goes wrong? In times of financial hardship. The RM staff, rail staff, NHS staff have not chosen to have their terms and pay forcibly cut. I don't think you're intelligent enough to figure it all out though.

Well as a result your DH will be amongst all the rest of the workforce paying more taxes to cover the benefits bill. That will probably wipe out any wage increase.

I can not afford to employ anyone for next year so have just made my p/t employee redundant after 15 years. I’ll have to do all the admin myself which will cut down the time I can spend in the studio.

Shitty time of year to do it I know but the numbers don’t add up and it looks like I will have to start claiming too for the first time in my life.

I will not use RM ever again for customer orders and there are many small businesses who will be doing the same. I , myself, will be requesting courier delivery for my own purchases too. I can’t remember the last time I sent a letter/card either so no more business from me. A big win for the gig economy and a shot in the foot for the RM employees.

justasking111 · 14/12/2022 10:01

Reading this morning the parcels being stored outside are attracting foxes 🙈

Also read lost parcels will be auctioned off next month. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9257365/Are-Britains-lost-parcels-really-auctioned-eBay.html

pechecreme · 14/12/2022 10:24

@LadyPoison how dare you insinuate the blame should lie with low paid workers and people fighting for their rights to fair pay, fair employee rights and treatment, instead of focusing that on the government. It is not the fault of the underpaid that the benefits bill is increasing. It is the Tories end of. The last 13 have shown increasing taxes and inflations and decreasing wages.

And just because you personally aren't interested in sending/receiving letters doesn't mean that's the case for everyone else at all. How closed minded. 8 billion letters were delivered by Royal Mail in 2021. No other company in the UK delivers that amount of letters at a flat rate to every household. And if RM cease to exist the cost of sending letters to, say the highlands, with private couriers services would be a fortune. Or worse they could refuse to do so all together. Not everyone is interested in abolishing letter delivery in favour of packets/parcels. It's ignorance to suggest otherwise.

Our main hub for sorting is Chester, we're in Wales. There was a picture in the press the other day of a huge backlog of post there. You will get it eventually. The days before Xmas they do get a chance to catch up normally because folks have paused buying.

Shame they're striking on those days so they won't get delivered. Then bam sales shopping happens and the backlog covers the Parcels again

desperatehousewife21 · 14/12/2022 11:11

We’ve got 6 working non- strike days between now and Xmas to receive all those thousands of parcels piled up in the mail centres. Can’t see it happening somehow.

AnaBannanna · 14/12/2022 11:20

Many, not all of them but many of them, pictures being shared on social media of parcels piled up in sorting offices are from during the peak of Covid.

justasking111 · 14/12/2022 12:06

I think this year it's better to physically buy gifts from the shops, if your parcels turn up save them for birthdays.

I wouldn't consider buying online when the sales start either

CringeCrush · 14/12/2022 13:32

Just had a lost Evri parcel delivered, posted by the (small independent) seller on 30th November.

She chased it for me when it had been with Evri for a week without moving, and it was finally delivered today - crushed outer packaging, two items missing from the box and the remaining ones squashed. 😣 the lovely seller is sending a replacement today (not with Evri), but I despair for her as a small business owner.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 14/12/2022 14:08

My evri have been very good. We know each other by first name now.

I’m finding that things sent end of November/ beginning of December aren’t getting here but things sent more recently are.
I have outstanding parcels ordered ages ago as trying to be organised in case of delayed that are nowhere to be seen and then I’ve received something today that I ordered three days ago.
