Crazy wiping your bum on The Snowman is as much a part of Christmas as watching the film Xmas Grin
I couldn't find any more ( I bought The Snowman kitchen roll in Iceland but no loo roll to be had) I bought some M&S silver star and the leafy pattern , not as soft but bigger rolls . I had a couple of packs of Snowman from last year .

Violent Night is funny but a lot of comedy effect violence !

Happy birthday, Why! 🎂 🎈

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2022 07:47

Thanks Fluffy another year older and wiser (possibly not wiser mind you).

WreckTangled · 19/12/2022 07:55

Happy birthday why! 🥳

I was hoping the London schools would still be going but it seems they have the same term dates as us. Never mind. It was always going to be busy. I’m jealous you’re staying over fluffy! Hope you have fun

Always4Brenner · 19/12/2022 08:18

Happy birthday Why. Hope you have a good day.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2022 08:22

Thanks Wreck and Always.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 19/12/2022 08:29

Happy birthday why!

DS is in school until Thursday! It was until Friday until a week ago when they put an inset day in. He doesn’t go back until the 10th January, which is just rubbish. So much more to do the week before Christmas than the start of January when things are closed, everyone is tired, poor, dieting and cold :(

WreckTangled · 19/12/2022 08:37

I Agree dreaming that’s rubbish. Mine go back on the 4th Jan.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2022 08:53

Thank you Dreaming.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/12/2022 19:01

Happy Birthday why

Onto the home strait now the prize is in sight Xmas Grin
I'll do my marzipan tomorrow then decorate the cake on Thursday night , ready to be inhaled over the Christmas period

London is so pretty right now , I miss the cold but I cerainly don't miss the chaos that the snow brought .

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/12/2022 19:23

Happy birthday why 🎂

70 I iced my mini cakes in the first week of December as I had made one to give away and I was seeing the recipient. I've We've now eaten half of ours. It's my most hated job of the Christmas prep.

I collected our Christmas supermarket shopping today but the rest is from the butcher on Friday. I suspect I won't have a proper Christmas fridge due to the younger members of the household raiding it a couple of times a day!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2022 20:27

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. I have had a lovely day with some fab presents. Went to a friends and we watched Christmas with the Kranks and ate some birthday cake. My daughter came round with the pooch and a Costa hot chocolate as well.

WreckTangled · 20/12/2022 07:17

5 morning! London today. Decided to get the train as it’s quicker than driving and it was £36 for the three of us including tube etc. although ds doesn’t want to get up.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/12/2022 07:26

That's not too bad for the train. We drove down as the train prices were hideous, and Avanti struggle to run a train service too. I had no confidence in getting to and from London!

We're going to the Science Museum today, hopefully it won't be too rammed. There were loads of tickets available for all times, so fingers crossed!

I've got some of my Christmas mojo back - the organising part at least. Cards written and sent (except 1 for Diplomatic bag that I need to add a letter to). Most presents bought (3 adults locally and 1 overseas family to sort). About 2/3 wrapping done. Decisions made on what to make/bring/prepare in MIL's for Christmas dinner. Did my Elf duties last night leaving token present and card for each of my team.

Today, I'm having a section meeting on the afternoon but an informal review of the year (to say"well done" for all the achievements) and vague start to planning next year - but mainly an excuse to finish with Irish coffees and mince pies and some socialising.

I need to come into the office tomorrow so can get a few things in town if needed then, and have already decided to take Friday off, might take Thursday as well if really quiet but could come to office and clear up for year end stuff, and meet a friend for lunch.

Oops, my stop coming up to jump off bus and get stuck into the day!

Always4Brenner · 20/12/2022 10:50

I got my biggest Christmas miracle I’m going to see Mathew Modine in to kill a mockingbird bird in March I’ll be floating now till then it’s audio described there’s a tour before as well. So to say I’m thrilled is the understatement of the year I’ve been in very dark places this last few years, today the biggest miracle ever for Christmas. Had no idea when I planned to leave in September the joy this Christmas would bring new home everything needed in it, new friends at the centre where I live 007 novels now this. Thank you to all of you you’ve helped me these last few months oh yes the adorable little girl with her Santa for Christmas lovely I’m so happy I could do that.

CrazyBaubles · 20/12/2022 22:48

Evening. Had 'Christmas' with my family tonight so I finally got to do some hosting. Niece and eldest nephews presents were a success. Youngest nephew a bit less so (was a garage/race track and some cars) because the car wasn't blue Confused

Exhausted now but it's last day in work for the year tomorrow, plus I'm taking a very late lunch to watch niece and nephews school show. Im very excited, I've never been to any because the grandparents always argued over any extra tickets.

CrazyBaubles · 21/12/2022 09:34

🎄4🎄
Hope London was good Fluffy & Wreck

Last day in work here 🥳 so doing admin and prepping as much as possible for next year while watching Kirstie's Handmade Christmas Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 21/12/2022 09:39

It was thanks! Although dd wanted to leave by 5 which was annoying, we had done 20k steps by then though.

I’m not feeling Christmassy at all, not sure what I can do to change that. The dc won’t watch any Christmas films.

ConstantlyCooking · 21/12/2022 09:53

Belated happy birthday to why.
I hope you enjoyed London Fluffy and wreck and am pleased you have your Christmas mojo back Buddy.
I finished school on Friday and have now sent all cards and presents, plus bought a reduced (price not height) Christmas tree. Unfortunately our lights have broken but I have done a John Lewis click and collect for today.
DD and I have begun watching CCFs and begun eating chocolate. I am making chilli jam today plus cranberry and clementine jelly if I can find frozen cranberries.
I actually need to start doing things now instead of reading Christmas books and Mnetting!
Have good days everyone!

BiddyPop · 21/12/2022 14:25

Someone else covering this evening's (delayed) meeting so I am enjoying coffee I. A bookshop having bought 2 more presents (and 1 for me for quiet days!🤣). And bought DD birthday card, and money. Wallet for DNephew gift of cash.

I need to do 1 more job in work then abandoning desk. Which I didn't think would be possible until mid-day on friday.

Morning!

Crazy, do you go away today? Surely soon?

I'm going to get up now as it's my consultant appointment this morning. Exciting times. Not! 🤣

We're doing the Santa train tomorrow with ill everybody. 🙄 DH is taking medication for the first time since I've known him. He also refused bed yesterday, but nodded off on the sofa instead. Hopefully he's better for his birthday tomorrow!

Wreck, shame London was cut short for you. It was stupidly busy when we were there so DS struggled. He'd probably say he enjoyed it though!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 22/12/2022 07:19

Yes the dc enjoyed themselves though. Ds doesn’t like the crowds and makes me hold his hand so tightly it hurts him!

Can’t believe it’s only three days. I haven’t wrapped a thing and I’m still not feeling festive. Also Dh pissed me off yesterday by completing my Christmas puzzle but pretending not to by pulling bits up and putting them back in the box. Dickhead.
