Fluffy I moved some cans from the conservatory to put in the fridge today but there was no need - they were already so cold they made my fingers hurt!

Wreck I've had to wear glasses full time since I was a teen and I hate it. It's an expensive PITA, especially as I need sunglasses too, and my prescription changed every 18months-ish until a year ago!

I've been standing on furniture putting up my giant string of colour changing star lights. How I haven't fallen I don't know, but they're not hung correctly and look uneven up

I dug out a Spode Christmas serving bowl ready for my friend coming tonight. It's very not very classy - crisps on one side and celebrations on the other but we're starting with the M&S Buck's Fizz to try and 'posh' it up a bit 😂

We keep soft drinks in the porch but there's some in the garage that I bet have ice on them now

Rattling towards single figures now. Eek!

The kids are going to a breakfast with Santa this morning, with the inlaws, so that gets them out of our hair for a while!

had a lovely Christmas meal out last night with the running group. Today is breakfast with Santa and then the village children’s Christmas party.

Two weeks time will be The Big Day
I have my Christmas jumpers (yes plural) in the wash right now and got some decorations up yesterday , the rest will do today .
Sticky Toffeee Pudding made for the freezer and I have my food shopping except the fresh vegetabes and any dairy/soya milk

Some tidying up today and a couple of online orders to do.

Christmas Breakfasts sound a lovely idea Fluffy and Deaming - what do they have to eat there ? (My DS wouldn't have eaten anything when he was little , if there was something going on, he was a nightmare . DD would''ve embraced it )

70, it's a Premier Inn breakfast, which is how we know it's safe for DS!

I really need to wrap some presents but my hands are struggling in this cold weather. I suspect my present wrapping will be even worse than usual 🤣 Fluffy said to me years ago that what I lacked in wrapping talent I made up for with paper and sellotape!!

That sucks why - could anyone do the wrapping for you? Or would tissue paper scrunched around the gift then placed into a gift bag work?

I woke with a slight hangover so have had tea, bagels and taken dog for a walk (was hard work as it rained then temp dropped - I skidded a few times ).
Just getting ready for a Christmas meal out with my family. Going to give my parents the x stitch card - fingers crossed they like it (it's the Bothy Threads Wrendale robin one).

Later will be an hour or so of studying then wrapping while DH is out.

The Wrendale pictures are lovely aren't they Crazy they do one of a hare which I love ( I'm going to order a mug from John Lewis ) I don't like rabbits but hares are a thing of beauty !

Premier Inn Breakfasts
DH and DD had eggs and rolls/bagel today , DS had a wrap with melted cheese and ketchup < not envy . You can see I cannot take him nywhere !

I do gift bags now as can’t wrap anymore my tress going up today I was going to leave till much later but so excited and happy it’s going up today.

No tree in the move I’ve lost the base so new tree needed might as well get a pre lighted one now bit sad but this was meant for a reason I think new home new tree.

Crazy I will get some help but one or two I have brought boxes and tissue paper for.

We have snow , started about 7pm. Weather forecast is heavy snow overnight- hopefully not freezing overnight , our roads rarely see grit .

DD is very impressed , but she doesn't have to go out tomorrow !
Don't know what the travel will be like for DS (though he can do his University work online if he needs to)

The snow looks beautiful here but it means no buses plus delays and cancellations on tube and train so my commute will be difficult. (But it does look like an urban Christmas card).

No snow here. REALLY bastard cold though. The starlings are getting through loads of food!

I booked an orthopaedic appointment last night. I can claim £300 per year back via Simply Health, so I'm going to see him / have scans then go back into the NHS a good few months ahead of where I would have been.

No snow here. Not even a frost this morning. My sister got stuck on the motorway for six hours last night, horrible.

Hope the appointment goes well Fluffy. It’s good you’ve got the option but so infuriating the NHS just can’t help people anymore.

I’m WFH today as DD’s bed is being delivered. Ds was awful this morning, didn’t want to go to school as he said he’s ill (he has a cough) took ages to get dressed as he was being uncooperative hen he had to get his whole bottom half changed again because his pants were uncomfortable 🙄 not good when you need to be out the house by 7:10.

I have an online morning meeting , just gone out to clear the car for this afternoon and put the bins out .

It was eerily quiet .....usually there's heavy traffic sounds from the main road but this morning.......nil

Hope to hear the cheery sounds of the grit lorry otherwise it'll be a 'mare .

A slight dusting of snow here. Nothing too major as the road is clear outside my house. It can sod off now, I hate the stuff.

We now have a working washing machine! The daft engineer didn't bother staying to check if it was fixed last week (it wasn't!), so they sent a new bloke today, and it was the motor, so he replaced it and it's happily washing away!

He was here about 30 minutes and actually seemed to want to fix it, unlike her! 🤷‍♀️

I am so behind this year!

I have no cards written yet, had a plan to write them on 2 plane trips of 4 hours each this week, but overweight case and not having anywhere near enough cards when I went looking last night means I've abandoned that plan. Address book has been left on my desk.

I'll order Canadian presents for local delivery tonight. and think about Scottish presents the same. I have about half the local presents bought. But nothing for Dh except a nice jumper (and he bought himself 3 this autumn after I'd bought it grr!) so all ideas welcome.

And Dh has decided we are not having a tree (DDog, we're travelling, there's too much going on...) so he has lights outside on trees and I have put out my German whirligig with its teeny candles. I also brought home DD's Santa fleece blanket and said nothing - it's been used daily since it arrived so I got something. Right!

We have ice rather than snow. Main roads relatively ok but estates very sloppy. And freezing fog that I can verify is freezing! (Waiting for a phantom bus to airport, ended up on different bus and thawing out with McDs brekkie).

No snow here either, but it is very very cold. I had leggings on but have put fleece pj bottoms over them and will be adding my fake oodie soon 🥶

I managed to wrap my presents last night, although it took longer than expected (as it always does 🙄). Just need to post 2 cards and finish some of my crafty projects with the extra hours that I will magic up from somewhere and I'll be done!

I’m getting pissed off with how useless services are. I can’t get our gas and electric sorted as I have to open a new account with Scottish power, I can do it online except their website says ‘oops this page isn’t working’ every time I do it. I could phone them but they say they’re too busy to take calls. I messaged on fb and they respond once then stop 🤯🤯🤯 I’ve tried to sort out council tax as even though I called a month ago I haven’t heard anything and they’ve still taken money from us. I called and the lady doesn’t understand why the old account hasn’t been closed and also said our new house hasn’t been banded yet and could take six month. Ffs.

Oh and ds’ class has a scarlet fever outbreak 🙄

Hi sorry I dropped off I was knocked really ill with the cold I had. I’m better now though and we enjoyed a wintery walk through the hills and to the waterfall today, which has made me feel really Christmassy.

@NoWordForFluffy I hope your DC enjoyed breakfast with Santa, a few of my family members did that yesterday too. I think mine are too young to get much out of it really.

@Always4Brenner good luck tree shopping! It is sad that you lost the old one but as you say new house new tree. Plus it’s so exciting getting new decorations

Lots of snow here, it looks beautiful I will share a pic. Sorry that I haven’t properly caught up with what you’ve all been up to, my fingers are freezing and I can barely type but I have read through.
