Countdown to Christmas 2022: it's s bit warm to be considering Christmas, but I'm doing it anyway! (Thread 3.)

42 morning. I got woken up at 5:30 with a stupid scam text message. We’re all moved in but still need to take curtains/hooks/DD’s posters down and fill holes plus pull up the carpets and clean. Only issue is Dh has been in bed with a fever since 7:30 last night. Not sure what we’re going to do.

Our dinner plates don’t fit in the kitchen cupboard and I can’t reach any of the top shelves (need a stall!). There’s so much to do and we need to buy so much but don’t have the funds! It’s lovely though and the dc are happy.

Oh and the back door won’t lock (it was locked when I got here) so need to get that sorted and there’s no feed or waste pipe for the washing machine. Ffs. Already missing the dishwasher too.

Congrats on moving in wreck! Hope your DH is better soon.

Poor DS spent yesterday sleeping due to his fever. He is a little better this morning but still very hot. Have had to cancel all our plans so a quiet birthday for me. Will rearrange for next weekend.

Dh has covid. What rotten timing.

Wreck, well done on getting moved in. You always end up having to buy loads when you move; it's a nightmare, even if it's the right thing to do. If your DH felt OK he could still go to the old place to do stuff there, as you don't have to isolate now. I hate how you have to remove carpets though; it seems so wasteful, when I'm sure the next tenant would be happy with them.

Oh, DS went sleep in his clothes last night. 🙈 They'd been playing upstairs and he just went very tired, so went to sleep. Weirdly, this is the latest he's got up in ages too! 🤷‍♀️🤣

Hope it has more functionality than this one does, as it's barely worked as it's got bigger. Apparently that's a feature of the 'improvements' if, like me, you have all posts on one page. Their answer is to stop having the site in the way you prefer it. Handy.

Moving house is always a nightmare Wreck, however smoothly most of it goes. Hope your DH feels better soon.
