Have fun, Wreck.

We're going to Bella Italia as kids eat for £1 there. I'm using my Clubcard points at Christmas in London for Prezzo!

We had an awful experience Bella Italia recently so it’s put me off. Unfortunately my dc generally find the kids menu too small now, ds has already eyed up the seafood linguine…

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2022 09:03

Our two wouldn't go anywhere near anything like that, Wreck! And the 3 course kids' meal is fine for them still (though Pizza Express' is on the small side). They would want more than the pizza on its own, but 3 courses are fine in total.

What was your terrible experience? I'm sure people have had terrible experiences in all restaurants at some point!

Morning, wreck
I live in Brighton; we had some rain overnight, but it's fairly bright now.

WreckTangled · 27/10/2022 17:45

I think the size of the kids meal is fine for them but the variety isn’t there, way too interested in the adult menu! I think the Italian chain restaurants all do the best kids options though. We just had such poor service the last time we went, tbh it’s always been poor but we’ve shrugged it off, the last one was the worst though we waited an hour for our mains. We don’t have one close by and will go again but I’m still cross atm 😅

We had a lovely day it was so warm and sunny. Only takes an hour to get there so not too bad.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/10/2022 18:41

DH and I went to Brighton last year , stayed at the Holiday Inn ( sea-front , though our window looked out onto flats ) and a car-park .
It was really nice , bright and sunny but cold , perfect to walk round the town......except the stench from the uncollected rubbish because of the bin strikes Sad
Some brilliant vegan resturant there too

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/10/2022 21:40

I managed to get a little present for DH today at Portmeirion. There's a wonderful shop that sells all sorts of household stuff and textiles. I picked up a little dibber that will be perfect for planting seeds.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2022 22:11

We don't need variety...autistic children have their uses! 🙈🤣

Our service was great, even though it was rammed. No complaints at all other than paying £6 a pint!.

That sounds like a lovely present, Woolly.

Evening. Finally finished work - jumping straight from that to some sewing because I've promised dsis part of a Halloween costume which I abandoned it in frustration a week ago and time is running out.

Had a strange afternoon meeting a batshit neighbour. He apparently lives on the street behind mine and was knocking doors, asking people to sign a petition to either have the council send someone around to collect all the fallen leaves or cut down the trees "because it makes everything look scruffy and the leaves come inside my house when I leave the back door open" Confused
We have lots of little green areas with trees on. I love them - lots of birds and squirrels in them - so I'd sooner sigh a petition to protect them from this man.
He was not impressed with me - apparently me and my immediate neighbours don't
understand the issue, even though all our front and back gardens are covered in fallen leaves. He would not accept that we get the frustration but we like the trees and won't be signing.
So that was fun 😂

When you have some time on your hands (Grin) lodge a tree preservation order on the lovely big ones!

more vomit in the night sadly but DS did lie in and has only just woken up. Need to deep clean the bathrooms and bedrooms today.

will also try and do some online Christmas shopping

hope everyone has a good Friday!

WreckTangled · 28/10/2022 08:06

Yuck to the sick bug hope it disappears quickly!

I’m wfh this morning. Need to go food shopping at some point but not sure when. Also need to do some uni work and sort through some cupboards 🤯

WreckTangled · 28/10/2022 08:19

I can’t wait to be a five minute drive away from the supermarket rather than 40…

NoWordForFluffy · 28/10/2022 08:35

Oh no, Dreaming. DS had about 2 days of actual sickness when he had it the other month. I hope your DS feels better soon.

Wreck, you'll spend way less on fuel, I'd think, which will be a bonus! Hopefully you get a move date soon.

Phew. Managed to do my work, do a good chunk of uni work and sort out two cupboards. Unfortunately there’s now a massive pile of rubbish in the middle of the room. Oh I also paid the balance on the OT assessment ds had 🥴 another lovely sunny day too.

Morning!

Another pointlessly early wake up for me. 🙄 My body is irritating!

DH is doing a trip to Smyths in Liverpool as I want a pack of paper for the camera I got DD and it's OoS for home delivery. Thankfully our almost-nearest branch has some. He might also get cheaper diesel while he's there, as it's often cheaper than here!

He's then going to the gym to do a long run as part of his half marathon training. I'm going to do housework while he's gone. I might make gingerbread shapes (never just men!) with the kids too!

WreckTangled · 29/10/2022 07:37

I was awake early too fluffy

I’m going to do some more packing/sorting/washing and maybe some reading then this evening it’s one of the local firework displays.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 29/10/2022 08:13

Morning all

more vomit in the night :( strangely DS is fine all day and then throwing up in the night.

we were supposed to have DH’s aunt and cousin for lunch today and we had ordered in afternoon teas from a lady in the village. Guess we will just have more afternoon tea for us Grin

CrazyBaubles · 29/10/2022 10:03

Morning. I'm being very lazy - I got up at 7:30 but went back to bed with a cuppa and arm still here. Ddog is snoring and I've been shopping online. Have sorted 2 nieces and my mum. Have also selected all the photos for dais's traditional photo calendar - just looking for a good deal on them now.

I need to get going. I need a shower then I'm doing a mix of cleaning and studying all day, along with them food shopping and walking ddog.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/10/2022 10:19

Morning
dh and I went to see Maisie Adams last night (I've seen her on Mock the Week and Yesterday,Today and The Day Before )
Really funny Grin (occasional sweary )

Eight weeks till Christmas Eve Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 30/10/2022 05:11

56 I’ve been awake for about half an hour… ah well at least I get an extra hour in the day. I need to go food shopping this morning and dh needs to go to the tip.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2022 07:08

I've just woken up. Can't work out how much sleep I had mind you! I think a fair bit. 😴🤣

I got all of my share of the housework done yesterday, which is good, as well as going to Aldi for the payday shop (though it was like locusts had been in and there was no brown sauce or dishwasher tablets). I got a few more Christmas snacks as well!

Allotment today. I need to clear the final bed and put some bulbs in. I'll go soon so I get a few hours there as I imagine we'll go swimming later.

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 30/10/2022 07:17

How is it 8 weeks to Christmas day?

We've been up for 2 hours already. DST is supposed to give lighter mornings, but not if you get up at 5am, DD 🙄

We're off swimming this morning as well. Didn't go last week as it was DD's birthday so we went to soft play with DNs and our friend's DD instead. Actually wasn't as horrific as I was expecting - I'd definitely recommend going at 9.30 on a Sunday 🤣 Then DMIL has offered to make us lunch - she usually does a roast 😋

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 30/10/2022 09:54

I am still in bed and got quite a bit of sleep although I woke a few times. I am still not at all well though really.

Going to Primark later as I would like a few new items of clothing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/10/2022 10:19

DH and I watched all six episodes of "The Devil's Hour" (no spoilers) she kept waking at 3.33am .
So when I woke during the night ( to go to the loo as always) I was determined not to look at the clock , especially with the time change .

We saw a play last year that was 2.22 on the clock time things happened
And of course The Amityville Horror ..............

WreckTangled · 30/10/2022 12:31

Back from shopping. Three hour round trip… Aldi was crazy busy then I popped into sainburys to get what Aldi didn’t have (breadsticks, coffee etc) and then I went into the range for Halloween sweets (nothing Halloween left at all, all Christmas) and parcel tape. The range was also insanely busy and I had to queue for ages. So annoying. I wonder if it’s the clock change so all the people who usually go for opening plus all the people who wait until late morning all arrived at the same time…

Also got annoyed with some cyclists. Why do they feel the need to gesture with their hand that I can go past them? Our roads are pretty much single track, I’m not going to go past them when I can’t see what’s coming the other way. Someone did it to me earlier, they were riding side by side and he went in and told me to go past him, I didn’t as I couldn’t see over the brow of the hill, then he go annoyed and went into the middle of the road again just as I was about to be able to see what was coming 😡😡😡 gives me proper road rage.
