Bonkers Santa request

My nearly 3yo DS has announced that the present he wants most of all from Santa is binbags 🤦🏼‍♀️ apparently it's 'the best present for me mummy!' and he wants them to put rubbish in. It's been a non-stop stream of excited binbag-related babble all morning. Wish he could have decided something that isn't a suffocation risk 🤦🏼‍♀️ has anyone else had any outlandish last-minute requests?

Well at least he’ll be happy to tidy up all the discarded wrapping paper, save you a job.

doodlejump1980 · 24/12/2021 11:07

My wee one asked for a potato one year. 😂

Tinylittlecabbages · 24/12/2021 11:09

There is a book called Billy's Bucket by Wes Gray which is a boy who wants a bucket for his birthday. It's a brilliant story. If your DS's bin bags are anywhere near as magical and special as Billy's bucket they will be the best present ever!

Not last minute, as she’s been asking for it since we asked what she wanted but DD has requested a blue plum. 🙄 she’s got a wooden one which has arrived and I feel is too small for her to play with, she’s not really one for putting stuff in her mouth but does do very occasionally and when she does it always stuff that is a potential choking hazard. So my mum has put some on her Tesco order. Obviously not blue but with a months notice Santa hasn’t been able to breed a new variety to meet her exacting requirements.

NuffSaidSam · 24/12/2021 11:09

😂 at least it's something low cost and easy to get.

RonniePickering · 24/12/2021 11:16

Haha, my 7 year old (non verbal autistic) LOVES bin bags (he twirls then around so they're like a long rope and cracks them like a whip) 😂

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 24/12/2021 11:17

My 10yo asked for a pet chicken.
She isn't getting one.

Perhaps we are related, my DS likes nothing more than a potato and a mug to take in out of and then put it back in. Like eeyore with his honey pot and balloon

@doodlejump1980 and @shreddednips my friend crochets comfort potatoes- they are incredibly comforting to hold in the hand. It's like a magic spell.

Fuuuuuckit · 24/12/2021 11:20

Sellotape one year, many many years ago.

We're still using it and finding random shit that's still taped togetger

I can see they would make a satisfying sound if you cracked them like a whip! Now I think about it, I have a video of my DS laughing hysterically about someone doing this when he was about 5 months old. Clearly the experience made an impression 😆

I'm also interested in a magical comfort potato! Is she on Etsy?

If you cut holes for arms in the sides and then completely cut the 'front' you get a gown similar to a graduation gown or a Hogwarts robe.
shreddednips · 24/12/2021 11:40

He's now saying that he would also like a sister. That I cannot rustle up. For some reason he thinks that said sister will emerge from the shower plug hole. He's bellowing 'SISTER, SISTER, WHERE ARE YOU???' down the plug hole. It must be WILD having a toddler brain 😆

My nephew one year asked for a block of cheese just for him. He was four. We all still remind him of this at 15

Dorismargaret · 24/12/2021 11:44

Mine wanted a small factory that makes toys.

RoyalFamilyFan · 24/12/2021 11:45

A stapler - for a three-year-old. He had seen DP using it and wanted it. We just said that is daddies. So he wanted one of his own. No way was a three-year-old getting a bloody stapler.

Somebodyelsestrain · 24/12/2021 11:49

Seven year old wants a TARDIS. A real one. One that travels through space and time. He's going to be really disappointed.

TwinkleTwinkleLittleStarFightr · 24/12/2021 11:51

I want a magic comfort potato!

DS1 wanted butter, for 3 years in a row.

And one year, a label maker. We got him the label maker and he labelled EVERYTHING, including his brother.

flamedancer · 24/12/2021 11:56

My son has a massive thing about car air fresheners (ASD) he gets car air fresheners with his other gifts every year, and is always over the moon 😂
I hope the bin bags make your little one very happy. Merry Christmas OP :)

Our 2year old has asked for nuggets and chips!!!
