Hope you all find me ok

@EightToSixer clearly knows something I don’t about neom boxes 🤣.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Half price trio of L'Occitaine hand creams on the Amazon Black Friday deals. 3 x 30ml for £13. Never done a click link so no idea if this will work.

@Motherofplants I less things have changed, you can't easily download YouTube on to a Kindle Fire. It is doable (we've done it) but you'll need to follow an online guide to install the google play store and then do it. We weren't able to do this on a kids profile so DD has to use an adult profile to watch YouTube.

shinny · 21/11/2021 10:22

Can anyone remember if the Lancome deal was done through Lancome themselves or another store? I keep getting 15% off first order emails from them but have no delivery email nor can I find any payment taken from my account.

It was around 15 Nov I think and there was a free gift with any purchase.

Can anyone shed any light please? Thanks

I placed a glitchy JL order yesterday as a sort of bored experiment. I really didn’t expect it to go through, and then thought it would be cancelled anyway so didn’t think any more about it.

But they have now started dispatching things from it, and it won’t let me cancel Sad. Live chat is not available. And I can’t bring myself to phone the customer services number because I am too embarrassed. I am now going to have to wait for it all to arrive, in several separate packages it seems, and then do a walk of shame to the post office to return it.

It has definitely taken the fun out of bargain hunting and will make me more conscious in future not to go for things that are a step too far.

suneetime · 21/11/2021 10:34

I would also recommend the Huaweii tablet. Really good quality picture and good size.

@VolcanicProtectorMan the Boot buddy is £14.99 on the actual boot buddy website. Looks like there’s a sign up discount too. Not sure on postage costs though.

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2021 10:34

@buzzing an oodie would be a terrible gift for him, this was the man who went for a walk in his shorts last Christmas Day because he was too hot - and we live in Scotland 😂

buckeejit · 21/11/2021 10:35

@Invasionofthegutsnatchers setting up the photos is easy, I have my free storage full & use it on our echo show. Def worth uploading a few for £10 credit-should take just a few minutes to download the photos app & upload a few photos

uniqlo · 21/11/2021 10:35

@Haudyourwheesht my children loved the Zoe's Rescue Zoo series at that age. And like other pps The Faraway Tree, Paddington, Dick King-Smith books were also a hit. Charlotte's Web is lovely too.

ThePurpleGirl · 21/11/2021 10:43

Aldi Christmas squishmallows are in store in the South West this morning

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2021 10:45

Thank you for the Amazon photos tip - I’ve just found the email and set it up.

FIL was diagnosed with cancer last year and has undergone chemo. He’s doing well but has lost a lot of weight and really feels the cold. He has an electric blanket but told me his feet get really cold and he has chilblains. Would an electric duvet do a better job than an electric blanket? Can anyone recommend really warm socks for him? He’s a farmer so gets quite chilly in the yard.

Sealskins socks are fantastic (but pricey). They also do heated ones with a rechargeable battery, but they are £££

Bit random but hope someone can help me - after some "shoes" for a kayaker.

I'm out of my depth here (no pun intended) are the ones with the zip on the side ibetter and is the make Palm any good ?

also what is sizing like ? person I'm buying for takes an 8/8 1/2 in normal shoes so will it be worthwhile me buying a 9 or do they come up really big/very small thanks for any help

I wonder what will happen if people do return things. Will the system recognise they didn't pay full price for things or will it automatically refund the full price? I was too slow for the glitch so don't know how I'd actually feel if I did manage to get some bits but my initial feeling reading your post is that you really shouldn't be feeling this guilty. They are a multi million pound business, unless you ordered thousands of pounds worth your order is a drop in the ocean to them.
Doomscrolling · 21/11/2021 11:11

Real woollen socks, @Carrie76! You can't tumble dry them, but otherwise easy to care for and they are so, so warm.

Also those Celtic&Co sheepskin insoles make wellies lovely and warm. The code FESTIVE21CV gives you £20 off.

WayneBruce · 21/11/2021 11:13

Re JL I imagine someone's about to lose their job.
These codes should be tested prior to release and this can't have been (properly at least).
Someone's in for a shitty Monday.

Doomscrolling · 21/11/2021 11:13

Oh, and I often buy the woollen socks from Etsy.

crikeycrumbsblimey · 21/11/2021 11:13

Children's books for 5-7 I would massively recommend Pamela Butchart Wigglesworth Primary books. Mine loved them as have everyone else I know who has read them.
They are written with lots of text which pops out in colour so makes a very obvious bit for the kids to read themselves.

@Carrie76 I love cabin/chalet socks they are double thickness. Was trying to find a link to the ones I got from tkmaxx but found these which may fit the bill.
