Hope you all find me ok

@EightToSixer clearly knows something I don’t about neom boxes 🤣.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

I have just brought the Ben Miller Diary of a Christmas elf to read.

I managed to get two of the chocolate bars and due to be delivered on Tuesday.

Motherofplants · 21/11/2021 07:52

Can anyone give me a clue on tablets please? My ds is using my 15 year old Samsung one but it's dying - trying to decide if it will last until next Christmas as planned... He just watches YouTube kids or plays 1 game on it. Is there a benefit to the kindle fire HD over a regular tablet? The latter seems more usable as they age? I also hate having random subscriptions adding to monthly costs 😒

Hi all, can anyone recommend somewhere theyve seen a Boot Buddy cheapest, either with or without discount code? (The thing that cleans football boots I mean, not a car boot tidy or anything). Its £18.99 on Amazon but I’m sure it must be cheaper elsewhere. Sports Direct have it too but the extortionate delivery for there doesn’t make it worthwhile!

(Also is it any good? 😂)

Chocoholicmumma · 21/11/2021 08:14

Giant Squishmallow available to order on Aldi this morning. Says estimated dispatch 28th November. £13.99 each, 6 different ones

RainbowPhilosophy · 21/11/2021 08:15
Thanks for the link. I thought I was on their mailing list but I didn't get this. Just spent £20 and got 4 gifts including a pair of rose gold cufflinks for £2 (reduced from £20)!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 21/11/2021 08:19

Was checking to see if the Christmas Squishmallows had been released online yet and seen they have some giant non christmassy ones available. Unicorn, cat, dinosaur, lion if anyone is after non christmassy ones. They are £13.99

Thank you for the Castle Art link, I also got a 10% off on the spinny, and ordered both my artist DDs the Van Gogh sets, should have been £50 got them but got them both for £23 delivered.

Poppiesway1 · 21/11/2021 08:32

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads Thankyou, I have already completed that form and emailed customer services directly but no response yet. I’m not able to ring during working hours and have 10 days left of my 2 week stretch at work before I get my next day off, so hoping they reply before then. Thankyou for taking the time out to add a post though, it is appreciated :)

PinkJam · 21/11/2021 08:37

@Chocoholicmumma & @Justhereforthechristmasthreads Thanks for the giant Squishmallow reminder! Managed to order one for my goddaughter.

Anyway for other deals I don’t know if it’s been posted but Gap have 40% off full price plus another 10% off with code GAPFRIDAY10

M&S have up to 40% off SOME homeware including bedding I was after anyway so that was a win

Froppysue · 21/11/2021 08:47

LockdownCheeseToastie · 21/11/2021 08:48

@1stTimeMama

After seeing so many people buying diffusers, I'm now wondering if or why I might need one for myself for Christmas?! Can anyone tell me what the point of them is? Are they just an alternative thing to the Febreeze plug in for example, to make everything smell nice? Are there any real benefits to having one?
I use mine like I would a candle- for a couple of hours in the evening. Not something you’d have on all the time. You can use whatever oils you like- proper essential oils or ones that are just fragranced. Benefits the same as a candle- nice smell, possibly help you sleep.
slithytoveisascientist · 21/11/2021 08:50

@Changingagain he is 8 and a half now and I would say we finished them about a year ago. We listen to the audiobooks as I have no patience for reading aloud, and though there are scary/sad parts, Stephen Fry is very calm! Because you are reading them to him I think you will be ok as you can explain any issues - however personally I’d read them yourself first so there are no surprises.

Froppysue · 21/11/2021 08:52

@BeaLola thanks so much for the diffuser advice! I had discounted the neom mini one but after reading your post it’s front running again, I need to make a decision lol

We have one & I think it’s good/ makes cleaning boots much easier. No tips on where to buy though sorry. Can you get to sports direct in person if they’re cheaper there? Or think SD is connected to house of Fraser so they stock similar items?- if you ordered from there, are there other things you might need that would soften the blow of the delivery fee??
slithytoveisascientist · 21/11/2021 08:53

@SpamIAm I wanted to ban the films but DS managed to watch the first somewhere else so we read the first book then moved onto audiobooks as I was so impatient!

I did order, but didn’t abuse it, saved £20 on a computer chair and a pair of AirPods I was going to buy anyway, and the Ysl perfume I will give my sister.

It’s not been confirmed yet though.

A friend of mine ordered over £800 of stuff and paid £13 for it, she said she went though just adding stuff that was £20 or just over,
Part of her order had already been dispatched, I really thought they would look at it and cancel because it was obviously not right but they apparently haven’t.
I think she’s massively taken advantage and it really doesn’t sit right with me.

Does anyone have any recommendations of books for a (imo Wink) bright 4.5 year old? We're still reading Zog type stories but with people's talk of Harry Potter I'm thinking we should move on to chapter books. She's pretty girly but I'd really like to avoid anything too fairy/fluffy. Something along the lines of Harry Potter but without the mature themes. Tia.
