Hope you all find me ok

@EightToSixer clearly knows something I don’t about neom boxes 🤣.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

@Bezzi

I need to buy a hoverboard 😬 Any recommendations or bargains please? Possibly one with a kart thing too. Or anyone know of a discount code for Curry's please?
We bought one from UK Segboards as they had some good deals and are known for their safety.

It did take a while to receive though due to the Lorry shortages though so I would order soon.

BeaLola · 21/11/2021 09:04

Froppysue. Good luck decision making !

I think the hard part if you decide to buy it will be where from ?

lots of offers offers on it - I think if you buy it from neom because it's over £45 you can get a gift
with the code wish or relax

with other places they are doing it with £10 off and perhaps other discounts if you are a first time user

slithytoveisascientist · 21/11/2021 09:05

@Haudyourwheesht we did Enid Blyton around that age - The Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair, and Mr Gallianos Circus. Paddington is a favourite, and My Naughty Little Sister is still loved!

Sleepylazydog · 21/11/2021 09:08

Hi all, DN is caught up in the Fly Orb ball craze that’s currently on Tik Tok, I’ve seen them advertised on Facebook for anything up to £35!

Looking in eBay there’s various priced ones from £5 to £25.

I don’t want to buy one that’s rubbish (some seem to come with a controller so not sure what’s the difference), has anyone bought one of these things? Do they actually work and are of decent quality? I dont want to pay over the odds but want to get one of decent quality that will last and work as they show in the videos

Any recommendations please?

@Haudyourwheesht

Does anyone have any recommendations of books for a (imo Wink) bright 4.5 year old? We're still reading Zog type stories but with people's talk of Harry Potter I'm thinking we should move on to chapter books. She's pretty girly but I'd really like to avoid anything too fairy/fluffy. Something along the lines of Harry Potter but without the mature themes. Tia.
@Haudyourwheesht My DD loved the Princess in Black books when she was 5. They're about a princess who is expected to be pink and fluffy but actually is a secret monster hunter.

I just bought a hoverboard and the kart attachment for mine for Christmas. It was on offer on Amazon for 179 for both. I went with that as I was worried if I held out for a better offer I would miss out
Doomscrolling · 21/11/2021 09:13

@Haudyourwheesht, they are old but absolute classics: Frog and Toad books. Really wonderful first ‘chapter’ books.

I loved them, my kids loved them; we gave a copy to our neighbour’s 3&6yo and it’s their favourite book - they talk to me about it over the fence, it’s very cute.

25% off at Monsoon with YAYEARLY25

Lovemusic33 · 21/11/2021 09:14

Does Emma Bridgwater ever have any discount codes? I know they are doing a couple deals on mugs but they are still a bit pricy, are they likely to do anything for Black Friday? I’m after the mushroom mugs, teapot and plates 😬.

wavingwhilstdrowning · 21/11/2021 09:15

Here's my Emma Bridgewater referral - you get 15% and a mug and I get 15% I think.

Tinitiny · 21/11/2021 09:15

The Works have a 25% off, used it this morning - GSG25
Lots of nice Christmassy bits 🎁

I can’t believe the blasted Aldi squishmallows sold out already, had two in my basket and they went OOS :(

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2021 09:16

I have no babies to buy for but I just saw this on HUKD and it’s beautiful and a bargain for £5 - going on a bear hunt book and a complete little outfit to go with it

wavingwhilstdrowning · 21/11/2021 09:16

sorry, I don't think I'm meant to put it here - DM and and I'll send it.

Duvetflower · 21/11/2021 09:23

@Haudyourwheesht We started Enid Blyton at that age. Faraway tree, then secret seven, famous five...

My naughty little sister has nice collections of short stories, or dirty bertie

Not read the other recommendations yet but my 5yo likes the worst witch series
GreyerbytheDay · 21/11/2021 09:26

In case anyone is looking for one, the Foreo Bear is best price ever according to 3Camels. Down to just over £195 at most retailers - Amazon, LookFantastic (check TopCashback for 5% cash back) or John Lewis (where account holders should be able to use the Google Nest promotion too to get this free).

CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/11/2021 09:27

Definitely my naughty little sister and Enid Blyton. Also the worst witch series.

Puffalicious · 21/11/2021 09:28

I've already bought Emma Bridgewater mugs but I think they look less than I've paid without a box iyswim. Any recommendations for where to buy a nice, sturdy box for gifting them in? I need 3.

Harriet Muncaster has 2 series which are perfect for this age: the Isadora Moon books, and the Mirabelle books. Both slightly spooky e.g. Mirabelle is a witch but not spooky if you know what I mean! And visually very appealing for girls but the stories aren’t stereotypes.

If she likes Zog then then Princess MirrorBelle series by Julia Donaldson is great. Or dragon-themed The Boy Who Grew Dragons by Andy Shepherd.

There’s a lovely series called Hotel Flamingo which if she’s quite girly & likes pink will appeal visually, but the characters are not at all girly stereotypes- it’s great.

hiredandsqueak · 21/11/2021 09:31

@SpamIAm Thank you for that I have bought it for dgs, dd used to laugh out loud when she was small at that book so now she can share it with her boy.
