I'm getting amazon vouchers for my nieces and nephews this year as they're getting older and can pick their own gifts. Is it too early to get them now, or can I buy them now and be done with? Then I can focus in my own dc

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2021 15:43

I have a lovely Christmas tree from werchristmas as well, @princessbear80.

I'd hate to see a local company go pop because of a - admittedly godawful - spell of poor customer service.

I need to see if they have any summer offers, actually. I've not heard from them recently.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2021 15:45

We have the mini Christmas tree path lights which are great! Very cute!

CarolinaWeeper · 03/08/2021 16:38

www.rideontoys4u.co.uk/ has the Playmobil small doll's house for £17.99 at the moment. Even with postage that's a fair bit cheaper than Amazon (£25) and The Entertainer (£30). I've just ordered one for DS2.

Which house is it please?

It's the carry one @PinkDaydreams

Thank you! I'm scared of missing out on any Playmobil bargains at the min as son has really got into it! I ordered that one off Amazon for similar price when it was on offer the other month. Its well worth the money, it's a lovely set for anyone hesitating on whether to purchase or not!

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah

Me again! Could anyone recommend a car garage for a soon to be 4yo boy please? He's into hot wheels, monster trucks etc now but only has a toot toot garage which is abit baby ish really, so I'd like to update it. Hopefully something which isnt monstrously big!
We bought the Aldi wooden car garage last year and it has been used almost daily with hot wheels. I am sure Aldi would bring out similar this year in the toy events.
Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 03/08/2021 21:31

@princessbear80 Aldi had candy cane lights in last year - very reasonably priced - I think I paid about £20

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 03/08/2021 21:33

Thanks @rainingcats great idea

CarolinaWeeper · 04/08/2021 08:56

@PinkDaydreams oh that's great to know it's a good set. DS has asked for Playmobil and a doll's house so thought I'd try to kill two birds with one stone. Grin

My 3 year old likes to play with little toys, she likes to play with her sisters lol dolls. I was thinking of getting her playmobil or sylvainian families. I’m not sure which ones

My dd is the same she'll be 4 by Christmas and loves her cousins lol dolls. She seems some Sylvanian families the other day and has asked for them so I think that's the route we are going to go down if anyone sees some bargains on them please Smile
entrytohr · 04/08/2021 09:13

We loved the play Mobil carry house. It fits almost perfectly into a kallax square which was a nice bonus when it came to storage!

gvb8 · 04/08/2021 09:34

Can second the recommendation for the Aldi candy cane lights, we bought these last year too and they looked great

My 3 year old likes to play with little toys, she likes to play with her sisters lol dolls. I was thinking of getting her playmobil or sylvainian families. I’m not sure which ones
From experience of my dds, if the youngest is liking something of the eldests I would just get them their own set of what it is. I've got a 3 year age gap and they always shared toys when they were younger but had their own ones within the set.

My dd2 loves lol dolls but other similar dolls which are nice but more childlike are cave club girls, enchantimals. They are in-between lol and barbie doll sized. Twozies are similar size to the little sisters. Glimmies are nice and similar size too, they glow and light up. Or the barbie Chelsea range is similar in size to lol dolls, my dd has the campervan she uses with her lols.

Sorry its not playmobil or sylvannian but neither of mine liked these despite loving all other small toys. I think mine liked the bright and colourful toys more and these were too plain.

So my advice would be get a few different small bits to see what she takes to. I bought a big bundle of sylvannian and then playmobil (separate years) neither set ever got used. They continued to play with their happyland houses until age 9/10.

Were they just red and white or other colours too?
ClaraLane · 04/08/2021 10:52

Stocking filler alert - I’m trying to do my best to be a bit more eco-friendly so I’ve decided I’m going to get these for me and my husband to have in our stockings: reusable cotton buds: www.amazon.co.uk/EcoSlurps-Reusable-Friendly-Silicone-application/dp/B08KF51D1G/ref=asc_df_B08KF76TX5/?hvlocphy=1006964&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&hvnetw=g&hvadid=486545527578&hvpone&hvlocint&th=1&hvpos&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&hvtargid=pla-1091036131671&hvrand=12048435521930204404

I’ll try not to buy them from Amazon if possible but was the first link I found.

gvb8 · 04/08/2021 10:59

@ClaraLane just red and white. I think I've seen the other colours in Argos in previous years though

Willow4987 · 04/08/2021 11:09

@ClaraLane @gvb8 yeah you’re right, they definitely do the different colour candy canes in Argos. I think they were quite cheap if I remember correctly last year

sorryiasked · 04/08/2021 11:28

Route One have got some half price skateboards today, plus clothing and accessories sale.

@Sideorderofchips thread is filling up fast

PinkDaydreams · 04/08/2021 11:35

Asda in-store have got many different packs of Crayola pens, pencils and crayons heavily reduced. Thought they'd make good stocking fillers

ClaraLane · 04/08/2021 12:35

Brilliant, thanks @gvb8 and @Willow4987 - will keep an eye out

Daisy829 · 04/08/2021 13:11

The ending is bloody weird. I didn’t get it at all.
