@BicycleMadeForTwo

Thank you so much! I have pm'd you x

alirudniamw · 01/08/2021 19:48

@TellMeDinosaurFacts oh those are lovely! I bought a rose gold one in the sale for my niece from Lisa Angel last year, and then my DD was miffed I hadn’t got one for her Grin. If you want to offload the rose gold one too I would happily buy it from you! How much would you want?

Someaddedsugar · 01/08/2021 20:50

I can't believe I'm asking this after I've already talked myself out of it several times... Does anyone know whether there'll be a discount on the Happy Nappers sleeping bags at any point? They have 25% off on the High Street TV website taking them to £37.99 + p&p but I'm really struggling with the idea of paying £40 for a sleeping bag.

DS has not stopped talking about the shark sleeping bag in a long time (and usually he forgets about things like this) so I'm really tempted to have Santa bring one but they just cost so much! Also a bit wary of the fakes that are on Amazon and eBay...

Someaddedsugar · 01/08/2021 20:51

Not what everyone would want for Christmas but Sweaty Betty have some good discounts in their sale - could be a nice gift for anyone with fitness hobbies?

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 01/08/2021 21:04

Thanks for the advice about the slime... Edging away after the comment about the stained sofa... DS can do slime at the childminders 🤣

Bellyfat · 01/08/2021 21:19

Slime took the varnish off of my dining table. It's horrible stuff.

Katinkak8 · 01/08/2021 22:01

@Someaddedsugar I feel the same. I've got some of the fake ones in my Amazon basket but if they're rubbish I'd rather pay the extra money for the proper ones. I worry though that my DDs will love them for 5 mins and then move onto their next fad!

FoolShapeHeart · 01/08/2021 23:44

Has anyone bought real tools for young kids? Any recommendations?

MerylSqueak · 02/08/2021 00:25

It's lovely what TellMeDinosaurFacts has done. DD is 14 and has never really worn any kind of jewelry or hair things but she wore that bracelet nearly every day since she got it at Christmas. She will be thrilled to have a replacement. Flowers

Ptsaying DIY Felt Christmas Tree with 30pcs Ornaments, christmas tree with 50 LED lights, Xmas Gifts for Kids New Year Handmade Christmas Door Wall Hanging Decorations(30pcs) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Z3P86DP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7VYY4T6XGYCBB525QQVN?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Sorry I don’t know how to do the short link. But thought this was good for Christmas decorations with the kids.

There are cheaper ones on Amazon if you search felt Christmas tree but I liked this one because it has lights.

Methenyouplus4 · 02/08/2021 07:44

You guys, the bracelet and the code,- that's the real Christmas magic right there.❤❤❤ I love this thread.

Jinglebells21 · 02/08/2021 09:15

Been a lurker for absolutely years! Finally signed up so I can be involved in this one

LittleSquirrels · 02/08/2021 10:15

Loving this thread already so many lovely people 🥰

Does anyone recommend any christmas tree lights? I missed out last year as they all sold out so I want to be super organised this year!

Thank you for this recommendation and others for replying too - all done and ordered!
daisyboo1 · 02/08/2021 11:03

[quote ClaraLane]I’ve been following this lady on IG for a while and she’s doing a fiver Friday offer - all her A5 prints are £8 down to £5 including the personalised ones. I’m going to order some for my friends’ children as Christmas presents and one for my daughter’s nursery class. Nice frame from Dunelm and I’ll be done.

Thank you for this recommendation too - got one for my niece and goddaughter. Starting to feel like I'm making some headway now, and the present drawer filling up!

ClaraLane · 02/08/2021 11:46

Ooh I’m also after lights - indoor and out. Ideally I’d love those super-expensive colour-changing ones you operate with your phone but they’re so pricey. I really want some of the candy cane ones too.

UrbanMage · 02/08/2021 11:47

No discount but the man who makes these candles is deaf, blind and has epilepsy and autism

Thanks for this link. I've ordered a few bits as a treat from me to me! Grin
NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2021 11:53

I got the bargain outdoor lights from this thread last year and they died really quickly. Annoyingly, the extension cable can only be used on that make. DH reckons we might be able to bodge another set (which has cheaper replacement bulbs). I really liked how outside looked with them, so definitely in the market for outdoor lights!

We had to buy two and got an additional 15% off with SPEND60 code
HoHoJ0 · 02/08/2021 12:42

Not at all bargainous, @LittleSquirrels and @PinkDaydreams but we have Twinkly lights on our Christmas tree. I justified it because we got an absolute bargain tree so I managed to get husband on board. I absolutely love them. They are the ones that do fancy things and you control them with your phone and I think they look so good! I saw the cluster ones around someone’s front door last year and they looked amazing. We’ve had them for about four years with no problems. I think they are the ones you’re talking about @ClaraLane

twiggytwoo · 02/08/2021 13:30

I'd love it someone could recommend a really good fake tree - we've always had a real tree but they're not cheap and also it's pot luck whether the shape works (we have a small room but with high ceilings).

Anyway I don't mind spending a fair bit on a fake tree if I could end up up using it for the next 30 years.

DH is v anti fake tree though. We both grew up with those cheap plastic 80s trees so I think he's thinking it will be similar!

PinkDaydreams · 02/08/2021 13:40

@HoHoJ0 those lights look FABULOUS!!!!

Spent a long time searching online yesterday afternoon nothing much around yet I could find. We'd had a lovely fake one from Haskins which lasted us years, but it was huge. We had our first real tree last year which I had a severe allergic reaction too! So we've compromised this year - a real one outside and a fake one inside. But I know exactly what you mean about those 80s trees. Pressure on to find a decent fake one this year that's not too wide but doesn't look mean!
