Just used Hot Diamonds to get the 40% off with MSE40. Remember to stack it with JEWELS for free delivery. That's my mum's xmas gifts sorted already!

Thanks for new thread x

originalUnicorn · 16/06/2021 10:26

Thanks for new thread. I’ve been following this and the main one for years - they are fantastic. I’ve already got a nice stash of bargains thanks to the thread. Things I know my two will still like come Christmas like some lego sets, jigsaws, gravitrax and books. This year I’ve decided to wait for their lists for anymore as they have more of their own ideas now older (7 and 5). I’m wondering when I can make them write these though - how do I make sure I’m not missing out on the big bargains like Black Friday if I don’t have lists? Previously I just bought what I knew they’d like then chat to them and suggest some thing and their lists written early December miraculously asked for the things I’d already bought at bargain prices Wink Harder as they get older.

Also I feel we are are point they don’t “need” many more toys as everything they have is still age appropriate and used. Obviously they will get toys but I’m wondering if I can buy other things now so they have lots to open but it’s not all toys we don’t need or have room for. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was considering a magnetic notice board for their bedrooms - any ideas of cool ones? Then buying special magnets like the Melissa & Doug dinosaur ones.

Sorry no bargains to share but will ke looking!! Sorry if off topic too much please tell me to repost elsewhere!!

Ps: I always feel mega Christmassy around the first heat of the year. Maybe I just don’t like the sun that much so crave the lovely cold festive weather and start thinking of all things Christmassy in June Grin

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 16/06/2021 11:04

My girls will be 8&9 and I'm also finding it harder to be for them. They have so much and are unwilling to part with any of it so not wanting to add to it!

Always on the look out for unusual gifts for DP, who doesn't like football. I feel like I'm running out of ideas Grin

Also Aspinal of London have an extra 15 % off sale items using the code on their website.

Gimmemoredonuts · 16/06/2021 11:25

Lindex is doing up to 50% Sale. They have lots of nice winter clothes for kids atm

sorryiasked · 16/06/2021 12:27

@someaddedsugar bargainmax have some good deals on hotwheels - worth checking every so often even if they don't have what you want at the moment.

Someaddedsugar · 16/06/2021 17:07

Thanks @sorryiasked Smile

Daisy829 · 16/06/2021 21:54

I know someone mentioned the rex London sale already but I’ve just had an email with a link to the under £5 section and they have Eco cans which are basically water bottles shaped as cans which are refillable. Thought they looked quite cool.

FireflyGirl · 16/06/2021 21:57

@originalUnicorn writing the Christmas list has been our October half term activity, and then I subtly remind DS of what he asked for in the run up to Christmas.

There's a risk he could change his mind, but I remind him what he picked and why, and then by mid-December the elves have already started making it so no changing his mind, although if he's lucky one of his grandparents might buy whatever he has spotted since.

Firstbornunicorn · 16/06/2021 22:06

Following this thread because I need to get sorted early this year – DC2 is due on Boxing Day!!

Planning to make some gifts, so keeping an eye out for cheap fabric, too.

twiggytwoo · 16/06/2021 22:07

Loving this early early thread - I can actually keep up with it!

AdoraBell · 16/06/2021 22:08

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Can’t believe it’s only 6 months away. Can’t even think about it right now so just place marking.

TheGriffle · 16/06/2021 23:11

@Daisy829 thank you for the eco cans! I’ve been after these since I saw my nieces a couple of years ago and could never find any reasonably priced. Also managed to get a few more stocking fillers too though I paused when I saw the delivery charge, I hate having to pay for delivery!

woodwaj · 16/06/2021 23:13

I have noticed things in my amazon wishlist have shot up in price the last few days so I'm presuming that's to make it look good again on prime day!

Not one to put away but I got a mario/rabbids game for the switch today on the online store it was reduced £7.50 offer is on for a few days I think

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 17/06/2021 00:38

No bargains to add just yet but this officially the earliest I have ever thought about Christmas shopping!
I suspect it's just going to mean I spend more overall in the end 🤦🏻‍♀️

Daisy829 · 17/06/2021 07:20

@TheGriffle I did the same as I hate delivery charges. I think I ended up with about 10 items for £24 ish so can complain. I got the cans too.

Elpheba · 17/06/2021 08:55

Anyone spotted anything good for end of year teacher gifts? I’m sorted for Christmas with the candles but need something for July!

PinkDaydreams · 17/06/2021 10:36

Maskedrevenger · 17/06/2021 11:06

Dunedin Cashmere have a good sale on at the moment, I think a few posters got tartan

Misspacorabanne · 17/06/2021 11:43

Trainers and PJ's ordered, thank you!
Daisy829 · 17/06/2021 14:39

Smiggle have an extra 30% off sale items. They’ve got a rucksack and lunchbox combo that attach to each other which look quite good. Think it works out about £24 for both. Free delivery over £30.

In my case starting early usually means I come in on or under under budget AND everyone I buy for has a lot more pressies than they would if I left it to last min. I love the fact I can get some (reasonably) expensive gifts for not too many pennies and I can use the savings to buy other bits for the recipient. More importantly I enjoy doing my xmas shopping rather than dreading it and its all done and out the way by end of Nov so I can wrap and post well in time for Xmas and avoid the postal delays and then I can focus on enjoying the season.
MostIneptThatEverStepped · 17/06/2021 17:30

@Gracesquirrel that's so great!
I got some amazing bargains from
these threads last year.
But I'm a spender...and I love buying things for people. And if I keep seeing bargains even after I've got everything I will just keep going 😂
Might have to hide the threads 😄
