When do you shower on Christmas Day?

Out of curiosity... this is the first year dc's are old enough to understand and be excited about Christmas.. I don't want to miss a moment of them enjoying their presents or eating special breakfast etc.. but I also like the idea of all going downstairs sleepily in pyjamas to open stockings etc.

Is it madness to shower quickly then change into clean pyjamas before we all go open presents...? What do you do?

Obviously this is a chats and fun post, not actually stressing about it... GrinXmas Wink merry Christmas!!

I shower after present opening and breakfast...

trilbydoll · 16/12/2020 20:54

There is no way my two (7 & 5) could wait for me to have a shower before we went downstairs Grin downstairs in pyjamas then sort them out some breakfast and I'll have a bath while they're eating / playing.

Having said that, we have always woken up first on Xmas day, dd2 usually wakes dd2 up about 8am, but I'm not really one for getting up earlier than I have to. I really hope dc don't introduce a 5am start this year, it'll ruin the day for me.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 16/12/2020 20:54

after we've opened presents and eaten breakfast

Letshavesometea · 16/12/2020 20:59

I don't, I always have a shower last thing before bed and that does me for Xmas Blush

Littlemissnutcracker · 16/12/2020 21:00

I tend to have a long bath christmas eve and do my hair etc. I find I need a shower after all the cooking and stuff but before we eat lunch.

Letshavesometea · 16/12/2020 21:00

Last thing on Xmas eve before bed that should say Blush

myhobbyisouting · 16/12/2020 21:02

Imagine having to wait while everyone showered to find out if he's "been".

I used to almost explode if my mum had a long wee on Christmas morning Grin

Nohomemadecandles · 16/12/2020 21:05

Christmas morning doesn't need to be sterile. (Well, maybe this year...) Don't even think about it. Just go with the flow on the morning. Have one before bed instead.

Smile3 · 16/12/2020 21:05

After present opening and breakfast. No rush it is christmas Grin

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 16/12/2020 21:08

I go mid dc are opening their stockings and digging in to the chocolate!! We have breakfast before presents..

SuePreem · 16/12/2020 21:09

I shower at the normal time - My dcs open a couple of presents while I have a coffee.

Then they have a break from presents while I shower as I really don't like being unwashed for much longer than that.

I don't think present opening needs to be a mad frenzy.

After presents and breakfast

ChanklyBore · 16/12/2020 21:10

I don’t shower in the morning on any day so definitely not Christmas Day. Before I go to bed Christmas Eve.

veeeeh · 16/12/2020 21:11

Day before. Feck that shite on the day.

You would think we were all down the mines. My granny survided to 95 bless her with a flannel wash.

BlueSpruce · 16/12/2020 21:12

Presents and a lot of tea first. Then clear away wrapping paper and off for showers (me first!).

Mol1628 · 16/12/2020 21:12

Before bed Christmas Eve.

RaininSummer · 16/12/2020 21:15

When my two were small they would bring their stockings (pillowcases) to my bedroom and sit on the bed to open them. After that we would get dressed etc.

This 🤣

How dirty can you get overnight? (Don't answer....)

Showering is the last thing on my mind of Christmas Day. And I never shower in the morning on any given day, I like an evening shower so if I was going to it would be before I got into my PJs later in the evening.

TheCrow · 16/12/2020 21:16

We also shower after present opening and breakfast when there's a little lull. DD gets new fancy pyjamas every year on Christmas Eve so she looks nice in them while opening presents then she gets ready around 10/11

LST · 16/12/2020 21:18

Christmas eve.

ExpensivelyDecorated · 16/12/2020 21:18

I disappear to have a bath with a glass of Bucks Fizz and hopefully a new book at about 10.30 after the presents, breakfast, phonecalls to grandparents etc.

nixso29 · 16/12/2020 21:19

Presents, breakfast, shower, alcohol

LadyCatStark · 16/12/2020 21:19

Christmas Eve night. There’s nothing wrong with being in your own pyjamas in your own home for one morning!

CommanderBurnham · 16/12/2020 21:30

Christmas Eve evening, then after food prep on xmas day.

Oly4 · 16/12/2020 21:31

After presents and breakfast of course! No rush
