How much have you spent on Advent Calendars?

As a child we just had a picture advent calendar to share. Not even a chocolate one.
I have been looking at the threads where you all share what your advent calendar reveals on the day, and feel like I’m missing out.
So I thought I’d treat my self to one (better late than never) but I am shocked by the price of some of them £80! And it may not even contain much that you’d use. And some of you have bought two or three for other family members.
So go on, shock me some more with how much you have spent this year.

£5 each - lindt and haribo

PurpleDaisies · 03/12/2020 17:27

£1

EnglishRain · 03/12/2020 17:28

£1.50 each for me and DH! Grin

addictedtotheflats · 03/12/2020 17:29

£0. I forgot and now they have all sold out. Luckily DS is 19 months and has no clue must remember next year

Beamur · 03/12/2020 17:30

£150.
You read that right.
It's DH's main Christmas present. A whiskey advent calendar. He's very pleased with it.

lazylinguist · 03/12/2020 17:31

£0. MIL always sends one for the dc. Dh and I don't have ones for ourselves. Tbh the only ones we'd be interested in would be expensive enough to qualify as our whole Christmas present.

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 03/12/2020 17:31

£2 Maltesers one for DD. I have a fabric one with a nativity scene on that we put up every year, add a star per day. Got that in a charity shop a few years back.

What on earth would be in an £80 one?!

Peachypips78 · 03/12/2020 17:32

This has been a recent thing for me. I always struggle to know what to have for Christmas, and now I put my presents together and have one of these every year. I have the MAC one this year and it's been amazing so far- matte red lipstick, glitter eyeshadow and lipglass. I know I'll enjoy all of it and it's like having a present and a treat every day! It was £120Blush

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 03/12/2020 17:32

£40 Shock

Smiggle and Match Attaxx.

Pascha · 03/12/2020 17:32

£0 here too, mum sent the boys a chocolate one each and dh brought one back from a rep at work so we're covered.

sansou · 03/12/2020 17:33

Not that shocking here - 4 advent calendars totalling under £30 which is more than sufficent in my opinion.
DD - Bath Fizzer one £5 plus dug out an old Playmobil Fairy one at her request.
DS - Pringles one £8
DH - Aldi Luxury Choc one - £8
General DIY choc one which I have filled with Kit Kat Minis & Green & Black Minis - £8

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 03/12/2020 17:33

DHs cost £45. It was a Christmas present.
Mine cost £8. Different mystery to solve each day
Grandparents bought DDs Lego ones... £20 each.
The chocolate ones cost £1.50-£2 each (yep I'm happy to admit I spoil my children with a toy and chocolate one).

NoParticularPattern · 03/12/2020 17:33

£22 on some books to go in a book advent calendar. They’re Christmas ones so will use them every year rather than have to buy new each time. Might replace one or two each time if they’re a bit too babyish for them at some point but probably not for a while hopefully! My mum always buys them for the kids and we got a free one from a feed rep this year so not going too badly out of it 😂

FourTeaFallOut · 03/12/2020 17:34

3 x £2 chocolate calendars and a £5 advent candle - if that counts?

DuzzyFuck · 03/12/2020 17:35

£1 for the cat and 50p for my friend's cat (reduced in the pet shop yesterday).

DPs is a reusable wooden calendar full of IOU vouchers so free.

Mine is the Haribo one. DP got it online, no idea how much it was.

GlowingOrb · 03/12/2020 17:35

£6 We have a reusable calendar. Dd asked for an assortment of teas. I was able to buy a box that had 25 different kinds.

MissDoLots · 03/12/2020 17:36

£175 Molton Brown (my Christmas gift to myself).

£8 x 2 for kids.

DuzzyFuck · 03/12/2020 17:37

Ooh I have a Cadbury one too, from my boss so also £0 cost to me Wink

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 03/12/2020 17:37

Around £180, but I had 7 to buy and got one every month or so from the start of the year.

Peppa pig, paw patrol, Harry Potter, lego, pops, and a couple of arty ones.

RightOnTheEdge · 03/12/2020 17:37

I can't remember how much the dc's calendars cost about £4 each I think. I got them cookies and cream Hershey calendars from Lidl.
I looked at a Lindt one for myself but it was £10 and I didn't really want to spend that much.

day7 · 03/12/2020 17:37

@addictedtotheflats

£0. I forgot and now they have all sold out. Luckily DS is 19 months and has no clue must remember next year
Put in your calendar now 🤣
kirktonhouse · 03/12/2020 17:39

Pringles for £8?? I did a last minute panic buy of a Pringles advent calendar and it was £20!! Where did you get one for £8? That's cheaper than just buying the Pringles. Wow, I have massively over spent.

Sonofapizzaman · 03/12/2020 17:40

£70 on each of my two children. Sickening!!!

PandemicAtTheDisco · 03/12/2020 17:41

Too much. It works out as £2.50 per day. Yesterday's gift fell apart almost immediately.

I'm regretting it now but I wanted something extra special for my child this year.

Thatwentbadly · 03/12/2020 17:42

Way too much... I even bought one for the cat.
