Thought I'd start a thread for the excuses M&S have given for lack of delivery for the Christmas gin hampers.

So mine were due to be delivered Thursday 5th November. Two (both rhubarb) were delivered on the 3rd November, so on 4th I spoke to M&S via webchat to be told to wait until the due date has passed as they were showing as our for delivery on their system. I waited until Saturday. No email from DHL, so I webchatted again. This time he didn't ask for my order number, but guess he could see my account? Anyway I was told DHL are running 24-48 hours behind and will resume deliveries on Monday.....

I forgot to add, I had also ordered two Clementine hampers too

Mine was due on 4th. I had a dispatch email on 2nd, so checked the tracking and it said delivery on 4th. On 4th, I checked for the delivery time and it now said that they didn't have the parcel. So I rang M&S and was told that they had no idea what was going on but also couldn't get through to DHL to ask.

She said it was now out of stock, but did I want anything else (no, nothing else was as bargainous), so she processed a refund and sent a £10 gift card.

An hour or so later, it came back into stock, but it was then too late to send a replacement, as I'd cancelled.

Call me suspicious, but something very fishy has gone on! 🤔🤔🤔

I agree, it's very fishy. Can we tag anyone else off the bargain thread that may have missed this. What I can't understand is why M&S isn't just contacting everyone who ordered it to give the same story?

This is partly why I'm finding it fishy; they haven't even got their story straight!

another victim of M&S Gin-Gate here too.

Ordered 1x Rhubarb and 1 x Clementine hamper.
Rhubarb arrived on the 3rd a day ahead of expected delivery.

Clementine status changed to 'Delayed on 4th, but did provide the option of choosing a redelivery date so changed to 6th.

6th came and went with no delivery, so got onto M&S live chat yesterday. Was advised it happens when 'things go out of stock, so I clearly have good taste :)'

The rep said they would reprocess my order for delivery once it was cake in stock (7-14 days); but if I hadn't received it after 7 days I could contact them again.

wondering if anyone who has had a replacement order sent has received any email confirmation at all?

as so far, I have received nothing to confirm the redelivery would be processed.

@tiddledpink, you normally get an 'order confirmation' email as soon as they process it.

And how can it go 'out of stock' when they've supposedly already bloody shipped it?! That makes no sense!

Another one with 2 clementine hampers which were due on Thursday.
I've not contacted M&S yet - didn't want to risk them cancelling my order as I'm not likely to use a £10 voucher (I want the gin & fizz for presents)

Will just play dumb and see what happens next week!

NoWordForFluffy that was what I thought too; how can they dispatch and then have no stock! that and the lack of email to confirm the reprocessing of the order.

I think I will keep an eye on it being back in stock and then get onto them again.

I went on chat 3 times. DHL said collected on 2/11. Then said they didn't have the parcel, then on 4/11 status changed to delayed.
I did webchat they said DHL wasn't open and to message again the next day. I messaged again saying it was showing in stock online so could they please send another one - the answer to this was no...

Then yesterday I messaged again. They said to cancel the order and reorder when instock - obvs don't want to do that as double the price which I explained. They cancelled anyway and refused to resend in rhubarb as it was more expensive than what I paid. Got a £5 gift card. I'm quite bitter about it actually and don't want to give them my custom now - though secretly hoping DHL will turn up with it! haha

I’ve had a reorder confirmation email with an order number. It states that it will be here by Thursday. Time will tell I guess.

I can't now find any sign of the Clementine gin - either on it's own or in the Hamper. I was going to start a chat with them if I could find it so I had the back up that they could resend it.

It's vanished from the website, @Chocolateteabag. My phone remembered the link and it just goes to a page with a photo of both light-up gins on it. Xmas Hmm

I found that by clicking on the item in my order, it brought up a pop up with the item on. It was the only way I have been able to find it to keep an eye on

My rhubarb arrived, no clementine..they told me to wait.

I waited. Then the DHL message changed to delayed. I waited. Messaged again and they said to call the team if it didn't arrive. By this point, others were getting their orders cancelled and being told the coal markets worldwide or some other rubbish were affecting orders Grin

Yesterday I sent them a message again and they emailed offering a replacement! So I'm back in the waiting game....

I too had ordered the clementine gin. Was supposed to be delivered by the 5th....didn’t arrive. I had a live web chat with M & S, and gin was re ordered for me, and my confirmation email said new delivery was 12th nov. Now when i check my orders its gone ?? I have saved the email giving me delivery details etc, but when i click to track the gin hamper has disappeared?. ... very very strange and very annoying!

Admitting the mistake from the start would've been best. We'd have been cheesed off, but it had seemed a little too good to be true, so we'd have grumbled in a 'fair cop' fashion and moved on. Pretending to dispatch and the subsequent farce is bonkers!
