Thought I'd start a thread for the excuses M&S have given for lack of delivery for the Christmas gin hampers.

Do I sit tight and wait and see or contact customer services who will likely cancel my order and at least refund me?

I'm guessing that if my gin hamper does exist it's with DHL somewhere and not with M&S - so I've got nothing to lose by contacting M&S now?

My sister went into the store to complain and they just packaged her up another hamper even though they were out of stock - so basically parcelled her up a bottle of gin, bottle of prosecco and some nuts

Wow!! I'm shocked. No new DHL email for me yet :(

The orders on my account were not showing in "recent" but there was a drop down box and you can see all orders in the past six months and all orders you've ever made.

@chocolateteabag I thought the same, but after speaking with DHL they state that they have never received the parcel from M&S.

It was never handed over by the senders despite being marked as so. They have said that they are still attempting to collect on the daily collection runs.

🤞more people start receiving gin soon.

I caved and called M&S - lovely lady on the line had obviously not been told about any gin related issues (or she is a fantastic actress)
Got my order refunded but nothing else.

Will now just keep fingers crossed that DHL "find" my gin and deliver it.
At the end of the day - I'm no worse off right now (just p'ssed off!)

So apparently my replacement order has been broken in transit
First I knew about it was when I got an email to say a full refund was in my account

A lovely MNer let me buy one of her rhubarb gin hampers from her. At the moment, DHL says they're 'running late' with it (they're one of the few carriers who accept alcohol).

'Running late' strikes me as a euphemism for 'we've misplaced your parcel'. I reckon I'm destined to get NO gin! 😭😭😭

@NoWordForFluffy that’s what mine said at 9am this morning and when I rang them to insist I haven’t refused anything I was told DHL refused it their end because it was damaged!

I'm beginning to think they must play football with them. 😡

Well @NoWordForFluffy you know yours wasn't damaged when passed to DHL as it didn't come from M&S!

Exactly. So they've broken it. The booking said it was wine, so glass, and I'm sure it was well-packaged.

They won't get away with breaking it. At all!

@Chocoholicmumma, how did you speak with somebody at DHL? Their customer service number is purely automated.
