A thread for those of us waiting for our M&S gin

Thought I'd start a thread for the excuses M&S have given for lack of delivery for the Christmas gin hampers.

Hi yes it was a re order. I did the live chat, and just explained that i was due to receive it on the 4th , but it hadnt arrived, so i was just offered straight away a refund or a re order?. .... no quibbling really. ... i must admit i wasnt holding my breath as the hampers totally vanished from my ordering history?

Very odd. I may live chat them later and see if they will resend mine as they clearly aren't coming any time soon otherwise.....

I'm not sure they even exist as a product anymore, you know. They've vanished. Probably more hassle than they're worth!

Oh gosh thats rubbish.... all very strange

I contacted DHL today to se what their stance was on the whole thing and was advised;

"We apologise about the delays on your parcel, these delays are due to the item not arriving at the east midlands depot. We hope your item arrives tomorrow for delivery."

already said I will give M&S until the end of the week before I contact them again for an update so will wait and see.

So Fluffy is right, they never intended to send it......

I'd have preferred to be wrong, to be honest.

What a bloody farce all round. Not cool, M&S.

I messaged DHL and just got told to speak to the sender as they never received the parcel........

I don’t understand that I got a tracking number from dhl for my first parcel that I never received. I wouldn’t have thought they would allocate tracking details without having a parcel?
I’ve also had another package go missing from M&S this week via Royal Mail. RM say it’s delivered but I’ve defo not got it. I’ve stalked the ring doorbell video to double check I haven’t missed it. What a faff.

M&S would generate the DHL tracking number on their system. It's what bulk-shippers do. Then DHL would collect and do their bit.

So for some reason, they generated the label, sent dispatch emails, then failed to send a whole load of them.

Then...it miraculously came back into stock after having been OoS for weeks beforehand. Weird.

Ah okay I didn’t realise that’s how it worked. Thanks. I won’t hold out hope for my original hamper to miraculously appear then!

It sounds like they've dropped a load of them between their supplier and the DHL warehouse- they said there was some damaged and there's quite a few turning up with cracks in the bottles. Would explain the issue but doesn't explain why no-one at m&s seems to have the foggiest idea what's happening or have a proper solution for anyone 😂

The one that arrived broken today was apparently broken by the driver on his van in transit he told me. I was so close

That's why I'm so suspicious. Why not just bloody tell everyone that clumsy Kev splatted them with a pump truck accident?!

It's not the gin on its own, @youngestisapsycho, it's a hamper with gin, prosecco and nuts.

Mines on it's way apparently.
