Mrs pleased you're all ok. Can't imagine how awful it is for all the people who've got flooded houses and businesses Sad luckily I don't need to be anywhere until Tuesday and it should all be down by then.

Mrsmadevans · 16/02/2020 16:54

Ahh thank you Wreck , it is awful for the poor home and business owners. They are lucky to be ok though , the fire and rescue had to get a few ppl out by boat from their BEDROOM window!!!

Mrsmadevans · 16/02/2020 16:55

Crick is on Sky news now 😔

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/02/2020 17:25

It's this one MrsMad. I figured I couldn't go wrong with red/white and she does like Scandi stuff.

Checking in from IOM. Storm appears to have passed here, it's been blue sky and sun today, although it has been windy. We've spent the majority of the day beach hopping.

I'm lucky that my family live up mountains but ILs aren't so lucky. MIL (Yorkshire) lives somewhere very flat and her horses field is flooded. FIL lives local to us but near a river and although not flooded, local roads have been closed on and off so he's staying home.

I have attached a pic of ours from today and one a friend sent me of theBoating Lake at home. MrsMad the lake is gone, it's all water!!

Stay safe all (and I hope flouncy is ok).

@TheWoollybacksWife
I missed that one, it's lovely can't go wrong with Skandu 🤗 ❤️
Crazy I agree you and your family are lucky to live high up in the mountains 🤗
It looks lovely on the IOM
Good heavens the boating lake is treble the size !!!

EmrysAtticus · 16/02/2020 19:21

I am just so glad that the ducks and swans won't have started nesting yet at the boating lake. We love going to see their little babies in the spring. All fine here in Newport thankfully.

WreckTangled · 16/02/2020 19:29

We had a dead slow worm in the garden Sad I assume the water pushed it up and either it got up near to the shed or a bird got it and then dropped it

PJMasksGhekko · 16/02/2020 22:40

Hi everyone, annual leave has started yayyy.

Wow Mrs, that's really bad, glad everyone is ok.

Have just had to tell the dog off, the poor cat is minding his own business on the kitchen chair and she's ramming it so hard with her paws, that the chair has moved about a foot in the other direction, not sure what she's trying to achieve, he makes it obvious he's not happy.

Morning!

Mrs, I hope the water is receding now. It's awful for the affected people.

Wreck, not good about the slow worm, poor thing.

Woolly, I ❤️❤️❤️ that calendar. I'm a huge Scandi fan!

PJ, your dog is a menace!

It's still really windy here. Our towels dried overnight and we've put some other washing out for a couple of hours before we leave as it should almost dry.

I'm still trying to work out the non-smart motorway route. The maps need that option to select, like you can say you're avoiding motorways and toll roads!

Everyone must be having a well deserved lie in!

I'm going to get the uniform wash out of the way this morning. I gave the washing machine the weekend off and now the laundry baskets are threatening to take over the house.

PJMasksGhekko · 17/02/2020 09:36

Morning, got up at 9 Woolly and only because I needed the loo, DD2 was snuggling up to me, I love me snuggles with her Smile

Got a wash on, so will get that outside today, need to buy a line prop though as the menace dog has chewed the wooden one, you are right Fluffy, she is a menace Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/02/2020 09:40

What is the issue with the smart motorway Fluffy? Is it that there's no hard shoulder?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2020 10:02

Yes, Woolly. I think it's dangerous (and the stats support that thought).

PJ, I never sleep in that late and neither do the kids. The most we get out of them is 8am and that's really not often!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/02/2020 12:35

My dc weren't up until 7:30 which is a lie in for us.

Apparently they're picking the car up in an hour. I won't hold my breath.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2020 14:57

Was it collected, Wreck?

We went via Buxton to avoid the smart motorway, then used the M1. I love the Peak District, it's stunning.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/02/2020 15:28

Yes! They've emailed to say they'll refund by the end of the day so we will see. Is it worth me trying to claim out of pocket expenses do you think?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2020 15:42

You can try it. I'd wait til you have the though.

How are they refunding you? They shouldn't have your card details stored anywhere.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2020 15:42

Refund!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/02/2020 15:48

Good point. I assume they have my card details on the merchant copy of the card receipt though. I wasn't going to ask for anything else until the refund was in my account.
